Chapter 303: Meeting The Spirit Boy Once Again...
.....
In a brief moment, the unknown flash of light traveled throughout a vast number of husk mountains.
As this thing was clearly some form of security measure, Azmodeus immediately activated a high-level Stealth Trait derived from the Singularity Trait.
After waiting for the unknown light machine to fly overhead and into the distance, he turned off his Stealth. Then, with a puzzled expression, he muttered, "This place… The Southern Prong… It's on its last legs… quite literally, lol."
Azmodeus's serious facade cracked for a second as he made a joke about the Primordial Tripod.
But, returning back to the matter at hand, he flash-stepped and trailed behind the flying machine.
He wanted to know just where it would lead him…
…
By the time that Azmodeus caught up to the flying security drone, he found himself in a large tunnel that was dug out of the northern side of the Floating Tower of Horrors.
Inside this tunnel, there lay a wide number of the flashing drones, all in a deep state of inactivity.
"Hmm… It would appear that the drones have a controller, but I do wonder who exactly this controller is…" Azmodeus murmured under his breath.
While glancing at the human-sized drones, he decided to snatch one up and see if he could find any clues of its master.
FWIP!
Before the drone could reactivate, it was ripped up into countless tiny pieces. After which, Azmodeus picked up a small part of the motherdrive.
"Ahh, so yet another rabbit hole to climb in…?" He tapped his detective hat, blurring from view not long after.
After a few seconds of going back the way he came, Azmodeus made it to a wide, open space.
Inside this space were a large number of spiraling marble stairs, all of which separated the numerous floors of the Floating Tower of Horrors.
Azmodeus proceeded to ascend these sleek stairs. Seeing nothing on his way up, he eventually made it to the top floor. After which, he walked through a spacious, pure-white hallway.
The top floor of the Floating Tower of Horrors wasn't too different from the rest of the floors. In fact, to be more precise, it was exactly the same…
"Everything in this place and even the District itself is extremely… peculiar…"
Azmodeus leisurely strolled through the blank hallways, ultimately making it to a golden door.
"Ahh, I'm sure there is nothing on the other side of this door… For sure…" He mumbled to himself. Then, with an air of relaxation, he opened the extravagant door and walked through.
Entering the room, the first thing Azmodeus saw was a basic office desk.
On the other side of the desk, there sat a blue illusory man. Upon closer look, one could see that this man had long white hair, red eyes, a pair of deadly fangs, and a certain glow about his aura.
To be more specific, the Plasma Element permeated the space around him. Touching upon a level of perfect assimilation, it practically melded together with his skin.
An inexplicable gleam flashed past Azmodeus's eyes as this figure seemed oddly familiar. "Little brat…?" He inquired.
The illusory man looked up from a paper on his desk.
Even though he had not expected someone to barge into his place of work, he would just kill the intruder and be done with it-
"Y-You are…" The man immediately lost his composure upon taking a long, hard look at the intruder. "Crimson God… Is that really you…?"
"Ahh, yeppers, it's me!" Azmodeus gave a nonchalant response before approaching the side of his desk.
With a swift conjuration, he summoned a chair. Upon sitting down on it, he locked eyes with the dumbfounded Spirit. "So, you gonna tell me what happened to you over the years?"
The Spirit was still reeling in from the shock of meeting the one he idolized most of all. However, after taking a minute to calm himself, he stammered, "Y-Yes, right away!"
-
After a pretty lengthy retelling of his story, Azmodeus learned that the Spirit Boy took that treasure he gave him and used it to scale the lower tiers of the power hierarchy.
With the passing of the years, he eventually left his home in the Forest Biome. Afterward, he migrated to the Plasma Biome.
That was where the Spirit met a woman.
Another good chunk of time passed; the Spirit married this woman, and they lived out their lives like a fairy tale.
With his strength and her position as an Heiress of a Top Tier Plasma Clan, life was looking good for the two of them.
However, all good things must eventually come to an end…
A powerful Plasma Clan didn't like how fast the Spirit's wife was growing her clan. So, in response to this slight annoyance, they sent out hundreds of Peak Alpha Realm Experts to eradicate their clan.
Even the Spirit, with all his strength, was unable to resist the might of so many powerhouses. Which, in the end, led to his wife's clan being burned to the ground.
The land for innumerable miles was left in a state of decimation, and at the front of his clan, there was the head of his wife on a spike…
Along with his wife, there were the Spirit's many children right there beside her…
Seeing this tear-wrenching sight caused the Spirit to enter a rage-filled state. With his cries of pain resonating throughout the land for untold distances, he blazed toward the clan that ruined his life.
The only thing on his mind were their deaths, and he was willing to sacrifice everything he was in order to succeed in this suicide mission.
However, before the Spirit went off and got himself killed, a mysterious personage intervened.
With overwhelming and irresistable might, this mysterious person quelled the blind anger within the Spirit's heart. The mysterious person then trained the Spirit to replace his hatred with a drive—a goal that would be his driving force to ruin the lives of all those who ruined his life.
For tens of trillions of years, the Spirit worked toward gaining more strength—enough strength that he'd never again feel helpless.
He acquired an affinity for the Plasma Element; he assimilated it with his existence; he forcefully changed his race…
The Spirit did everything he could for the sole goal of acquiring more strength.
He even went so far as to use the most forbidden of dark arts. Which, as a result, led to his race once again being altered…
