Chapter 394 Another Ascended Talent!

"Hm? What's this?" William was intrigued by new lines of text next to a few of his Resistance Talents.

--Heat Resistance: X (1,000,000PP + T10 Sun Bomb Flower)

--Cold Resistance: X (1,000,000PP + Hard Frost Feather)

--Poison Resistance: X (1,000,000PP + Antitoxin Stone)

--Sleep Resistance: X (1,000,000PP + T10 Stimulant Pill)

--Slow Resistance: X (1,000,000PP + Quicksilver Ore)

--Charm Resistance: X (1,000,000PP + Stained Glass refined by a Master Glazier)

Oh that's right, since the System upgraded to A-Rank, Ascending some more Talents is possible... but I've never heard of most of these things before! William exclaimed.

Other than the Sun Bomb Flower which he currently had in his inventory, William had never seen a Magical Beast that dropped the Hard Frost Feather, nor did he see an Antitoxin stone in the Velos Continent's poisonous zones.

The Tier 10 Stimulant Pill could be refined, but two of its ingredients were incredibly rare in the lower Realms and William had yet to see either one of them. Not to mention, Quicksilver Ore didn't exist as far as William knew.

I don't have a Glazier Talent or the like, so I would have to find someone to refine the stained glass for me. I might be able to unlock the Talent in the Shop, though.

William scrolled down a bit further, finding that his Arrays and Mind Talents could both be upgraded again as well.

Two more items I have yet to find... damn. William was a bit disappointed, but he was at least thankful that the upgrades were visible. If every Talent Ascension required an item to upgrade them, William should spend more time hoarding items.

Well, I have so many Points left, I might as well Ascend what I can. William decided. He brought out the Sun Bomb Flower and laid it in front of him, then spent one million Potential Points to proceed with the upgrade.

Effects: Resistance to all forms of heat and their residual effects +9600% >> +20000%

X-Rank Bonus Effects:

-Heat Body: When your body is affected by flames, increase the power of your Fire Magic by 100%. When your body is affected by lava, increase the power of your Earth and Fire Magic by 100%. When affected by both, both effects apply and stack doubly.

-Heat Absorption: Cultivating in environments with intense heat will slowly increase your comprehension of the Primary Law of Fire. Comprehension gained is relative to the ambient heat of your environment.

-Ascended Bonus: 5% Resistance to ???

Other than improving the heat resistance to twenty thousand and adding an unknown Ascended Bonus, it seems that nothing else changed. System, you're really forcing me to Ascend here, you know that?

The System didn't respond, but waves of nervousness and anxiety made William feel that the System didn't have a great answer. Perhaps the System was attached to the World in some way.

Did you once live here, System? William asked.

William returned his attention to the System Panel. Now that his Heat Resistance had Ascended, a new line of text replaced the old one in his Status.

This seemed to be part of one of the System's upgrades, because the previous System Panel didn't show the Ascended Recovery Talent in such a way, but it did now.

Even though it's back to F-Rank, it doesn't feel like it's been nerfed at all. I still have the X-Rank Bonus Effects, and the stats keep improving with each upgrade. If anything, this just tells me I can reach some sort of Ascended X-Rank.

How strong would I be then? William fantasized about raising his Fire Affinity to the Ascended X-Rank, creating waves of fire from nothing and engulfing entire planets.

Will the Ascended Realms have planets? Or will it be one giant Continent? William wondered, tempted to use the System's Ask Function to find out.

But that's boring. Why would I ask when I can see it for myself? I'd hate to spoil it for myself.

-I'm tempted to spoil it for you now.

You wouldn't! William exclaimed in his mind.

-Hehe. The Ascended Realms are—

Lalalalala! I can't hear you! William covered his eyes and ears as text started to appear in front of him.

The text appeared in his mind this time, completely bypassing William's attempt to not listen to the System.

-You realize that won't work, right? I'm just kidding anyway. There are rules, remember?

What are the rules? You've never told me.

-You can't know; that's part of the rules. Maybe you'll find out on your own someday.

I thought I wasn't worthy. Isn't this your way of saying you have hopes for me? Maybe I'm better than you say I am! William smiled.

By the way, since I have so many Potential Points, can you upgrade the rest of my available Talents to X-Rank? Except the Order Affinity, of course.

Thanks System. William said, but he had no intention of checking the Statuses for the Talents except for his Weapons Master and Collateral Damage. The other two were basically useless in his opinion.
