Chapter 395 Nothing? Nothing!
Chapter 395 Nothing? Nothing!
William looked at the two combo effects from his Collateral Damage Talent and smiled.
System, did you seriously come up with these names? They're hilarious!
-I had you in mind when naming them.
William laughed and nodded in understanding. If he had the choice to name his own skills, he would definitely name them like so.
With over 47 million Potential Points remaining, William had plenty left to spend. His first goal was to collect the remaining Resistance Talents, which should allow him to gain access to each Elemental Form.
With that, I need to purchase as many Passive Talents as possible, but let's try our luck with Random Talents first since they're cheaper.
The cost to buy a single random Passive Talent would cost 350 Potential Points and its price would increase by 25 per purchase. In contrast, the Random Talent option would only cost 75 Points currently and increase by 5 per purchase.
He asked the System to purchase a hundred Random Talents at once, then waited silently for the System to spin them one by one. The entire cost was only 32,250 Potential Points, and the next purchase would cost 575 Points, but William barely felt it considering the total number of Points he had.
Even if he went with the other option and purchased 100 Passive Talents, William would have only spent 156,250 Points. The cost was much higher than the other, but it was still less than a single day's earnings from the Potential Farms. It hardly made a difference.
Although William had millions of Potential Points and either option was perfectly fine, William didn't care. Points were Points and he put hard work into earning each and every one of them. Well... he didn't do the work, but someone did!
Just thinking about how William had enslaved loads of peak Cultivators and put them to work in the mines made him feel both like a villain and a genius. Most of them didn't deserve it, but William didn't mind.
At least I pay them well. William consoled himself. He wasn't really a bad guy, just a capitalist.
-Yes. You sell some of the Greater Fire Shards, Flamerium, and Dragonstone to cities for their Mana Stones, then pay the Cultivators with a fraction of the earnings. You're suuuch a good person.
The System's sarcasm was thick like molasses.
Hey, they agreed to it!
-Only because they were afraid that you'd lock them in a musty cave for months to come. Who would refuse?
Well...
"I would gladly accept, Master." Atticus said as he flew over from afar. With the combination his connection to the System, his Cultivation, and his increased closeness to William, he was sometimes able to hear the mental conversation between William and the System.
Mostly because the System allowed him to, of course.
"How did you get here?" William asked with surprise. He was currently on the Arcturis Continent, tens of thousands of kilometers away from Atticus' cave abode near Blue Moon City, and the last stop after clearing out Island Nation Slyte.
"You should make me some omelettesss, Master." Atticus' tongue flicked back and forth in anticipation.
"You came here for omelettes? Are you kidding me, Atticus? I know you have a whole team of chefs that cook you food regularly. After saving the City, they even make you Spirit Food." William shook his head and sighed.
"You make them better though... ouch!" Atticus looked sad as his nose poked against William's shoulder, triggering the Attack Reflection Talent and causing a few dents to appear in Atticus' scales.
William laughed at the interaction and felt slightly bad. He had forgotten to disable most of his Talents, since he had been mostly alone for a while now. There was no need for Atticus or Uri to accompany him, since he could call them at any moment through the Summoning Element. Experience more tales on empire
Even so, there was no one in Efretta that could compare to his current strength, and William had been revered like a God. He had even overheard a few conversations from within family homes from time to time.
Four months prior, while he was flying roughly a dozen kilometers away from the nearest civilization on the Azures Continent, one particular child had asked their mother about the Tribulation Clouds that surrounded William.
Her mother's response was, "That's William's Tribulation, I heard that he eats little kids that don't eat their vegetables..."
Since then, it seemed that the number of children that complained about eating their veggies dramatically decreased, though William didn't understand why he was so scary.
"Alright, Atticus. I'll make you some omelettes." William smiled as he brought out his Spirit Cookware Set.
With the X-Rank Cooking Talent, William could make the most impressive dishes in no time at all, using his Mana to multitask and prepare many ingredients all at once. From the simple egg and cheese omelettes with a cheap butter from markets in the Five Elements Sect, William had come a long way.
He teleported to a few cities across the globe and purchased all of the ingredients he needed in less than half an hour, at optimal price because of his Sales Talent. Having already visited these locations many times, William had perfectly memorized which locations had the tastiest ingredients.
Once he was done, William prepared three hundred jumbo-sized eggs of the best quality by combining them using magic in a large cauldron that should have been a few eggs in a bowl if it was just serving one or two people.
Next, William melted the perfect ratio of butter on a massive skillet, then added ham and small number of onions with bell peppers created from the Plant Element. Using a careful amount of Fire Elemental Mana, William heated them up each to individual perfection, then poured in the eggs and mixed it briefly.
He finished off the recipe by sprinkling cheese and cayenne pepper, then cooked the rest until it was ready to be folded in half, creating a massive omelette around the size of an office desk. From it, William cut off a corner that didn't contain onions for himself, then offered the rest to Atticus.
The entire time, Atticus was seated by the side eagerly staring at the array of perfect-quality ingredients with the best cooking possible. When he saw that William was finished, he wanted to gobble it all up in one bite, but he restrained himself and reduced his size to equal that of William, sitting at a custom-made table and chair perfect for Atticus.
"Thanksss!" Atticus ate large portions of the omelette in one go, despite his reduced size. How could he wait for those measly chefs to cook for him when William was just a few thousand kilometers away? Atticus could clearly tell who was more skilled.
William smiled and took a bite himself, relishing the unique and savory flavor that made him want to take another bite right away. He calmly ate his omelette while scrolling through the wave of System Messages announcing the arrival of his new Talents.
He read them out quickly.
Nothing, Shockwave Resistance, Knitting, Nothing, Nothing, Nothing.
Drawing, Nothing, Nothing, Nothing, Nothing, Nothing.
Man nothing again!
Pickpocketing! Nothing, Paralysis Resistance, Root Resistance, Nothing.
Nothing, Nothing, Nothing, Nothing, Nothing.
It was starting to sound like a fake word at this point, William lulling over as he read off the list of Talents that the System purchased. The biggest downside of the Random Talent option was the high chance of purchasing nothing, but William didn't mind too much.
Nothing, Nothing, Nothing, Nothing, Nothing...
