Bloom, standing nearby, chimed in, “Me too.”

Isabella nodded, then turned to Ariana. Ariana’s face remained calm, as if the previous

office friction had never occurred.

Isabella forced a smile but felt speechless inside. She was simply being polite, yet

some people were acting as if they were ordering in a restaurant.

With so many people in the room, she left with a composed expression. She was

to awkward conversations.

While making coffee, someone knocked on the marble counter behind her. Isabella

turned around and found herself looking into Simon’s eyes.

“So, slacking off?”

you wait a bit longer.”

counter and found drinks in the large refrigerator.

He took out two bottles of cider, handed one to Isabella, and then leaned against the

counter next to her. “You don’t like Ariana?”

Isabella was surprised and straightened up, not expecting Simon to notice.

Simon shrugged and clinked his bottle against hers. “You don’t have to be afraid of her.”

Isabella sighed, “I’m not scared.” She simply didn’t want to deal with people like that.

The little fight felt like a whole scheme that would only happen in a TV drama. She

lowered her eyelids and bit her lip.

Simon turned his face toward her and whispered, “You don’t have to do much. Just

feed Seth a piece of fruit in front of her, and it’ll drive her crazy.”
