Chapter 263 Come To My House And Sleep With Me Tonight

Doris and Hailey were getting along with each other so well, super well in fact. Hailey was straightforward and

so was Doris. The two of them could really hit it off. Doris came from the army and looked like a tough lady, but

she was still a girl inside and liked beautiful stuff. Besides being busy with work, Hailey would only keep Jason

company with jade carving, go to Groyfast and take care of Catherine when she was in North City. And now, she

was shopping with Doris.

Doris had a good body shape, so she looked good in whatever clothes. Besides, she was also a cool girl. So,

when Doris was trying the clothes Hailey picked up for her, she looked like a super model. And even a girl would

have a thing for her. When looking at her, Hailey couldn’t help taking out her phone and took some pictures of

Doris. And those pictures of Doris were like fashion shoots. “Doris, would you like to be the spokesperson of my

product when you leave the army? Look at you. Your face, body shape, and the killer charm. You can make a

perfect advertisement.” Holding a fisherman’s hat in her hand and playing with it, Doris smiled, “Sure. But is it

profitable?” Hailey answered as she raised her eyebrow, “Of course.” Doris laughed out loud and walked over to grab Hailey by the neck. “It’s so good to have a wealthy friend. I don’t

need to worry about money.” The two of them headed out for a big meal. And they were so pleased to enjoy food

together and even fed each other. They proposed toasts happily and burst out laughter during the meal.

However, there were two men who were looking at them through the window in a black car looked so serious.

They seemed to be so unhappy with what they were witnessing. The two men were Jared and Owen, and they

were furrowing deeply at this moment. Jared was wondering why Doris took the food in Hailey’s bowl. ‘The food

in her own bowl didn’t taste the same as that in Hailey’s bowl?’ Jared was thinking loud.

On the other hand, Owen pursed his lips slightly and felt so jealous as if he had drunk a jar of vinegar. He used

to think that those men around Hailey would be his rivals, however, to his big surprise, Doris was actually his

biggest rival. Where on earth did she come from? Doris showed up at such a terrible timing for Owen, and she

had even become friends with Hailey. Doris was such a hassle to Owen. As for Doris and Hailey, they were

proposing a toast to each other and drank it up. Tilting her mouth, Doris started, “I’ve been staying with men.

and almost forgotten that I’m actually a woman. Well, I mean, they don’t treat me as a woman at ordinary times

and talk to me like I’m one of them. I’m so pleased to get along with girls. When I was holding you, I could feel

the fragrance on you.”

How? I’m sweaty” Raising her eyelids, Hailey added, “I smell the best after taking a shower, and you can feel

the fragrance then, What about coming to my place tonight? And then you can have a try.” “I’m in.” Doris raised

her glass towards Hailey and the two of them clinked their glasses. Looking at Hailey who was such a vision,

Doris said after a clap on the table, “It’s just so confusing to me why Owen has yet to nail you as you ve been

around him for about three years. Is he blind or something? I can understand that he wouldn’t have a thing for

a woman like me. But look at you, you’re a vision. How could he not fall for you? What’s wrong with him? Gosh..*

Doris pursed her lips in disgust. “I’m ashamed on having such a stupid team member, who is definitely an

embarrassment for our Dragon Special Forces.”

Letting out a half-hearted smile, Hailey added, “He’s stupid, but I also made some mistakes.” Hailey was kinda

tipsy. “I’d been hiding my identity during the three years. I tried so hard to pretend to be another person who’s

totally different from who I really am. I was being cautious and living my life like a puppet who could only make

people laugh. Even I myself don’t like that me, so how could Owen have a thing for a woman like that?” Doris

was being silent for a moment and took a look at Hailey, adding all of a sudden, “Do you know I chased Owen

before? Do you wanna know how he refused me?” Looking up at Doris, Hailey sneered, “He was so in love with

Eliza at that time. Right? He must have told you that he had a crush on someone.” “Not exactly.” Doris added, “He said he can only kill persons and doesn’t know how to love someone.” Hailey

didn’t know what else to say. “What a stupid straight guy!” Doris smiled, “But he was like a killing machine then.

He always rushed in the front, no matter how harsh and dangerous the mission would be. As a member of the

special forces, we’re supposed to fight for the nation at any time, but people are afraid of death anyway.

However, Owen doesn’t seem to be one of them.” Hailey’s eyes flickered. “I remember, once we were ordered to

go into the camp of the enemies and directly destroy their headquarters.”

Doris’s expression became serious. “It was an almost impossible mission, but we had no choice but to accept

and complete it. Each of us was ready to sacrifice and we each wrote a suicide note to our families. Matthew

wrote several pages to scold his father for sending him to the army. He said his father shouldn’t blame him for

not taking care of him in his late ages. Anyway, Matthew did write a long letter. Among the nine of us, only

Owen didn’t write a letter.” Hailey skipped a heartbeat when she heard so, “Why?” “He said no one would care

whether he would die or not, so he didn’t need to write it to anyone.” Hailey was so confused, “Why did he have

this kind of thought?” Hailey had already known the answer though she asked such a question. When Owen

joined the army. Polly was saved from committing suicide and in her recovery. And she got serious depression

at that time.

Hailey knew these things from Polly’s personal maid, Winnie. “Owen have been suffering a lot since he was a

little boy. The outsiders think him a young master of a wealthy family and he lucked out to become the inheritor

of the Moores, though he isn’t a real child of the Moores. However, no one knew how much he had suffered

except me. He’s so indifferent, which is closely related to his upbringing ” Winnie continued, “Owen used to be

lively. He wasn’t that talkative, but his witty words always amused the persons around him. Ms. Polly was strict

with him, but she didn’t force him to be the inheritor. What she wanted was that Owen could become a real

mani, Later on, Ms. Polly broke up with Alan and they quarreled like always. And they often lost their temper on

Owen. Once, they were quarreling so fiercely and Owen tried his best to stop them, but he was slapped by Alan.

Owen got knocked on the corner of the coffee table and his head was bleeding heavily. He was sent to hospital

and the cut needed six stiches.” Winnie felt so depressed when she was recalling these things. “Owen has

become even less talkative since then and barely smiles. Moya is so scheming. She always pretended to be

pitiful in front of Owen. She tried to take advantage of Owen to destroy the Moores. However, Ms. Polly is a

tough woman. She often scolded Owen when Moya stirred up trouble, which kinda affected their mother-child

relationship. Later, Ms. Molly and Alan divorced, and she got custody of Owen from Alan. But she was being

even stricter with Owen.”

Winnie continued, “When Owen was about to join the army, the whole family was against his decision. And Ms.

Polly was so worried about him and didn’t want him to take the risk. However, Ms. Polly is such an inarticulate

person, and didn’t have a good talk to Owen about it. Instead, she threatened Owen that she would renounce

him if he were to join the army. And she would no longer care about him, whether to die or not.” Minnie’s words

reminded Hailey of what happened in Groyfast. When she was dying and almost lost her will to live in such a

dangerous place where nobody could leave alive, Owen came to her rescue. It was he who brought her the hope

of life. However, he couldn’t know how to love a person. Hailey drank a glass of wine and felt so bitter. She

loved Owen for ten years and she wished Owen had never experienced these hardships. And he merely didn’t

love her.
