Chapter 108: Keep a safe distance

August and Liyah chatted till later into the night and they were both feeling sleepy.

''Right, now that you are back, how do you feel?'' Liyah asked curiously.

''Feel about what?'' August asked back.

''I mean, with Aaron Saint. Let me tell you, June tried to sleep with him''

''Huh? She did what?''

''She did a lot of crazy stuff. Wow, I really admire her guts. thanks to her, I got to go to the club again. She is really fun to be with but still, I missed my August Maijune the most''

''Tell me everything June did'' August asked Liyah.

''Well, she told me that she didn't manage to sleep with him but she made sure he had a tough time. She really went all out with him, but Aaron must really like you. he resisted all the way and didn't touch her''

August's face turned red as she thought about all the possible things June could have done to Aaron ''that girl with her nasty character. She really has no reservations whatsoever''. August murmured.

''But, I think that is good. Thanks to her, Aaron Saint might start having designs on eating you up'' Liyah teased.

''Stop it, I feel so embarrassed already. How am I supposed to face him now knowing what June did to him? I can barely look at him without even picturing such scenes'' August said.

''So, what will happen to your sleeping arrangements? You know, you two used to sleep together, not that you are back, will you still sleep in the same room with him?'' Liyah asked.

''I don't know. What if I suddenly turn into June and pounce on him? For now, I will keep a safe distance from him. That will be better for both of us''

''I don't think that will be possible, August Maijune. Aaron Saint missed you so much. He was forced to make a quick recovery due to June's appearance. Don't you feel pity for him?'' Liyah said and smirked. Aaron should really give her a cheque for what she was doing for him.

''You think so?'' August asked.

''Yes, right now, the best way to console him is to be by his side. What if he suddenly wakes up with a fever and needs you?'' Liyah said.

''No, that is not possible. It didn't even rain. Big sis, why do I feel that you are pushing me into Aaron Saint's arms? What if all of this is my wishful thinking?''

''But, Aaron really likes you''

''I won't believe anything you say unless he says it himself. I'm hungry and I want pancake. Its late already, I need to go and find something to eat. Let's talk about your progress tomorrow'' August said and stood up.

''August Maijune, is good to have you back'' Liyah said and smiled as August left the villa.

SAINT VILLA

August Maijune entered the villa and saw Aaron Saint sitting on the sofa. She stepped back startled and blushed looking at him. He was so handsome. Even wearing a casual blue shirt and black jeans pants made me look like a model out of a magazine. What was a girl supposed to do when she was with a man so handsome?josei

August shook her head and changed into her slippers and walked in. Aaron Saint turned to her and smiled. 'Oh my god!! that smile is the death of my existence'' thought August Maijune. August subconsciously licked her lips as she watched Aaron Saint's lips culled up into a smile.

''You're back? I was waiting for you''

''Waiting for me?'' August asked as her face turned red.

''What are you doing there, standing like a statue?'' Aaron asked. August breathe in and out before stepping into the hall. She looked straight ahead and went towards the kitchen. Aaron Saint found her behaving a little strange but didn't think too much into it.

August opened the fridge and removed a bottle of water. She unscrewed it and drank half of the water and put the bottle on the table. She turned and opened the down part of the fridge and removed some eggs and a few vegetables.

''Are you going to cook?'' Aaron asked.

''En, we didn't eat anything so I want to make some pancakes for supper. Is it okay with you?'' August asked.

''Yes, whatever you want to eat, I will eat that'' Aaron said and walked to the dining table and sat.

She turned to put the eggs and vegetables down and saw Aaron Saint drinking from the bottle of water she just placed down and tried to stop him ''that's my bottle; I just drank…from it?'' August finished saying and Aaron drank the water remaining small and put the bottle back on the table.

Aaron Saint looked at her saying ''if you just drank from it, so what? We sleep together so what's drinking from the same bottle any different?'' Aaron Saint spoke and looked at August as if every one of his actions were normal. August coughed and hit her chest and instinctively took the bottle and drank the remainder of water in it. She calmed down and put the bottle down before realising she just drank from it again.

''See, there is nothing wrong with it. You just drank from it too''. Aaron Saint said casually and walked away to the hall to sit. August Maijune stared at his retracting back feeling flustered and confused. What exactly was this man up to? He keeps making her confuse and disoriented. August shook her head and turned to the cabinet. She opened it and removed a bowl of flour. She was going to make banana pancake. Aaron Saint liked it and requested her not to make anything heavy so she decided to make it.

Eating that alone was not good so August decided to add some leftover spicy chicken they didn't finish the other night. August broke the eggs and separated the yoke from the white. She preferred using egg yolks for pancakes. She melted the margarine and mixed it together with the yolks. Then she measured the flour and added it slowing mixing them bit by bit before adding a pint of salt to taste. She finished the mixture and removed the fresh banana out of the fridge. Setting the mixture aside, August blended the banana and then added it to the mixture. When she was done, she placed the frying pan unto the burning and turned on the fire. She greased the pan with a bit of oil.

Aaron Saint stopped watching the TV and turned looking at August Maijune. He watched every step of what she was doing and occasionally smiled to himself. She looked so pretty with her hair tied into a bun. Her serious look and focus in cooking made him feel some warmth. He wished he could see her every passing day. Her presence gave him warmth and peace.

Aaron looked at her busy figure and realised he really missed her during the time she wasn't around. He didn't even realise she was gone for so long already. He smiled and wanted so much to hug and kiss her.

Lost in thoughts, Aaron Saint didn't realised August had finished cooking and was now laying the table. August set the table for two people. Even though she promised herself to keep a safe distance, she still didn't want him to think she was back to the old her who didn't like his company. It was rather the opposite.

She like his company too much that she felt it was going overboard. What if she suddenly woke up one day and all of this weren't real? She still couldn't remember anything about herself and that made her wary of herself.

August suddenly thought about the file she saw and the words Josh Saint said to her that day at the hospital. What if everything the man said that day at the hospital was true? What exactly happened to her and how did she get here? She always had such thoughts once in a while but those thoughts were now eating her up day by day and she was getting scared of what revelation her memories might bring if she woke up one day and remembered everything. She felt lost once again because everything seemed back to zero apart from the fact that she found the medical report and could remember some of the things June did while she was here.

Josh Saint told her she tried to commit suicide. If it was true? Then, it only meant that she was going to be dangerous to herself and Aaron Saint.

Two nights before the appearance of June, she entered the three rooms opposite the hall and saw a lot of things. Her names were engraved in each of the rooms. August Maijune's library, Mai's laboratory and Maijune's gym. She would be a fool to not realise that those rooms belonged to her after putting one and two things together.

August frowned and looked confused as she held unto the plate of pancake tightly. Her frown and displeased look was so obvious that even Aaron Saint noticed it from where he was sitting. Aaron Saint got up and walked to the dining table standing before her but she didn't even notice it.
