Chapter 135: Court Subpoena 1

DID can be distressful and usually makes it troubling to function well in one or major areas of one's life and this is partly due to the gaps in the ability to recall everyday events, important people, important personal information or traumatic events.

Although not everyone experiences DID the same way, for some the 'altars' or 'different identities' have their own way of lifestyle, habits, postures, gestures, and distinct way of talking. Switching of these 'altars' could take hours to days or weeks and even months where the different personality will be control of the host body

But, DID should not be confused with bipolar disorder because they are two different things. Bipolar disorder is vastly different from DID in that bipolar patients still have all their memories intact and are conscious of their actions. They remember everything about their lives and does not experience this 'out of body' experience that DID patients go through.

Bipolar disorder mostly has to do with the change in the mood of people. Having instant mood swings and a sudden outburst of emotions that make it impossible for people to have a reasonable communication with you.

Having studied deeper into August Maijune's condition, Aaron Saint was now well versed with all her personalities and could recognise them by their voices hence he was able to tell first hand in the bedroom the one who was speaking to him.

August Maijune frowned the more she heard everything from Aaron Saint and couldn't help chuckling sarcastically as she spoke.

''So, let me get this straight. This person that I don't remember too well is my uncle whom Mai and Maijune is acquainted with and apparently he is the cause of all my woes, claims that Aaron Saint is keeping me away from him? Is he crazy or what? Wow!! Why didn't Maijune just kill him that night? Should I kill him myself?' August Maijune said and Aaron Saint noticed a hint of annoyance and cruelty in her eyes. She was furious.

''August, I suggest you calm down. I'm still not over the shock from the last time last year'. Liyah who also noticed the change in her said cautiously. The last memory of Mai hurting herself still traumatised her so much.

''So, are you going to meet him in court or what? What exactly is going to happen now?'' August asked angrily and looked at Aaron Saint.

''He said we should contact him through his lawyer. But before that. There is something I found out last night that I need to tell you guys about''. Aaron Saint said.josei

''What is it?'' Leo Martins asked.

''It concerns Liyah and August. Your parents to be precise''. Aaron Saint said.

''Our parents? What do you mean by that?'' Liyah asked.

''June showed me picture of your parents the time she was here. The day we went to the castle for the materials. I later took the picture to look into it. That was when I remembered that I once stumbled upon a picture while I was investigating August Maijune's background 6 years ago. I didn't think too much into it back then but after what Mandy Myers said at the wedding I decided to check those photos again. It seems both of your parents knew each other''. Aaron Saint said.

''What?'' Liyah asked.

''What do you mean? How is that possible?'' August asked and looked at Liyah. They were both confused.

''Yes, Aaron. What do you mean by what you said?'' Leo Martins asked.

Aaron Saint picked a large brown envelope from his side and opened it. He removed a stack of photos and placed them on the table. Liyah picked one photo and said.

''This is my mom, but who is this woman?''

''That's my mother'' August said as she moved closer to look at the picture.

''Your mother? And my mother?'' Liyah asked. ''How did they know each other? No, wait. I have a similar picture at my place. But, this woman was holding a small child in her arms. I was 8 or 9 years then'' Liyah added.

''While investigating, I found out that your parents were best friends with each other. I found out that, the car accident Liyah's parents were in was actually August's mother's car. They were supposed to travel together but August's parents suddenly disappeared that day and they couldn't get in touch with them. Liyah's parents were going over to August's parent's house when the car met with a truck'. Aaron said.

''So, the little child that was in the picture was actually August Maijune? Then, what about what my grandma said yesterday? She said we had an ill-fated relationship. Does that mean she already knew all along? What kind of secrets is she keeping from me?'' Liyah said unsurely.

''Whatever be the case, I will delve deeper into this. Leave this to me and handle the case with August Maijune first. I will make that old witch to spill out everything she is keeping from us'' Leo Martins said.

''I can testify in court that you are not keeping me against my will. Besides, I am now your fiancée. We are in a relationship''. August said.

''That is true, but if Lorca really wants to find trouble, he could use the fact that you suffered from amnesia'' Leo Martins said.

''Lorca is using your amnesia as evidence and if this gets out of hand, it won't be long before he finds out that you have DID''. Aaron Saint said.

''That will be too dangerous. If he or the old woman finds out that August has DID, then they will surely win the case. We can't let that happen, Aaron. Who knows what kind of game they are playing a't'. Liyah said worriedly.

''Oh maybe they already know. That I have DID that is why they are doing this'' August said and they turned and looked at her.

''There can only be one reason why my uncle will fight in this battle for me. The lab, his research work. Their products. He just needs me to conduct research and make new products for him. He is a greedy bastard. He must have found out about my condition that is why he is using the court to pull Aaron Saint out. So that he can have control over me and my sisters again''. August added.

''But, what will Mandy Myers gain from doing all this? And the governor, he is on their side. Do you remember how all those thugs were released after Maijune sent them to the police station? That was because the governor intervened''. Leo Martins said.

''The governor is planning to enter into a joint project with Zia Pharmaceuticals''. Aaron Saint said.

''Their ultimate goal is me, right? All these serious actions they are taking is because they want me, right?'' August asked.

''Yes''. Aaron Saint answered.

''Wow'' Liyah scoffed.

''Wait!!! I just thought of something''. August said.

''What did you think about?'' Aaron asked.

"Counter sue. If he is suing Aaron Saint for illegal guardianship then, I can also make an appeal for my parents' death to be properly investigated. My uncle killed my parents and made it look as if they got into an accident and drowned in the sea. I am the witness to everything. I can't remember well about that night but Mai does. I can go through psychotherapy or even hypnotherapy to awaken her. Mai has a clear and more vivid memory of what happened that night''. August said.

''Yes, why didn't we think of that? This, August is right. We could do that''. Liyah added.

''I had thought of that but I just didn't want to cause August more stress''. Aaron Saint said.

''What stress? This is not the time for me to be stressful. Let's do everything in our power to stop that son of a dog. If he is hungry and wants to have a bite then I will give him a very big bone to bite. First of all, let's do something Aaron Saint''. August said.

''Do what?'' Aaron, Liyah and Leo asked at once as they looked at her sceptically.

''Let's get married first. If we are married, it will mean that we have a relationship to back us up. If we want to win this case, no judge will look fairly on us if we say that we are lovers who live together. people will think we are cohabitating and that will not work in our favour. They might even think I am being threatened by Aaron Saint to stay by his side''. August said.

''Yes, she is right. If you two are married, the case will be different and you will have an upper hand''. Leo Martins added.

''August Maijune, are you sure about your decision? I am always ready to get married to you but I don't want you to wake up and tell me you regretted it later on''. Aaron Saint warned cautiously.

'Don't worry, I am never leaving you in this lifetime''. August Maijune said.
