Chapter 139: What was Hidden beneath the surface 1

''Madam Myers, I don't have much time left. The office of the prime minister already made the call to process the dismissal. If we don't hurry up and come out with something, I'm afraid the country will put me behind bars for fraud and all the allegations levelled against me. Damn that Aaron Saint. Who knew he had it out for me?''. The governor stated feeling frustrated.

''Don't worry, you need to relax. Tonight, I will make her sign the contract. All you have to do is get ready for our departure from D-City. I hope the ship is ready to send us to the countryside?'' Mandy Myers asked.

''Yes, it will leave 1:00AM'' the governor said.josei

''Is just a matter of time before she gives in to us'' Mandy Myers said calmly as she watched Mai on the screen. She seemed to be in pain as her nails dug into her skin causing blood to ooze out. Mandy Myers smirked ''you will give in to me sooner or later August Maijune''

''Look at what she is doing? She would rather harm herself than give in to us'' I told you the drug was highly potent. If she doesn't succumb and ask for the antidote, are we going to watch her until she peels off her entire skin?'' The governor said.

The drug injected into Mai was a type of aphrodisiac that was still being experimented on. It was highly potent because of the substances that were added to it during the production stage. The governor was afraid that their plan will backfire because Mai would have recognised what was happening to her by now.

As they were talking inside, they suddenly heard the sound of a siren outside and looked at each other.

The whole villa was surrounded by soldiers. Some entered the villa and brought out all the bodyguards both inside and outside. The arrested everyone and headed on to search all the other rooms. Mai was hidden in the underground dungeon.

The door to the room where Mandy Myers and the governor were in broke down and in walked Aaron Saint and Leo Martins. The governor was scared and quickly went on his knees while Mandy Myers sat still looking at them.

'Where is August Maijune?' Aaron Saint asked angrily.

''Take him away and make him speak. Use any methods you want''. Leo Martins gave the command to in second in command and they took the governor away leaving Mandy Myers. Mandy Myers looked at Aaron Saint and laughed.

''Are you laughing? You think this is funny?'' Aaron Saint asked her.

''Isn't it? At least to me it is funny. You are funny, Aaron Saint. I didn't know you loved that monster this much?''. Mandy Myers said as she sat on the chair.

Leo gestured to two soldiers standing at the door saying ''tie her up for questioning. Right now, you have become a kidnapper, a murderer, a fraud and a national offender. Your crimes are way up to the sky. You will be handed over to the prosecutors after our little talk is over. In the meantime, you can decide how this is going to be. The easy way or the tough way''.

''I don't think you have all the time in the world to be chatting with me though. Your little wife might just be gone by the time this is over, Aaron Saint. Off course, I would be a little sad about her life because of the benefits she could bring to me but looking at the bigger picture, it would be quite a sight to behold. Seeing how your life turn into hell. I would feel satisfied''. Mandy Myers said as the soldiers tied her up on the chair.

''Take over here, Leo. Make sure she spills everything out. I'm going to search for Mai'' Aaron Saint and turned to go.

''Didn't you want to hear the truth? If you leave right now, you will never get to hear it. I will only speak to you alone, Aaron Saint''. Mandy Myers said making Aaron Saint to stop in her strides.

''Well, you can choose to stay or leave. but, the moment you walk out the door, you will never get to hear the truth about your wife. I really don't have anything to lose now. After all, I will be going to prison anyways. You always wanted to know how she became a monster, right? Let's be honest, even you get scared of her at times. I found out something interesting today. Want to know what it is?'' Mandy Myers kept talking trying to anger Aaron Saint. Aaron Saint pulled a chair and sat across her silently without a word.

''You must be curious, seeing that you are sitting across me''. Mandy Myers chuckled. ''Let them leave us alone''. She said looking at Leo Martins ''I don't want my grandson-law to end up divorcing his wife because of what I'm about to say''.

''I am not your grandson-law and I am staying. The rest of you go and search for August Maijune''. Leo gave the command to the two soldiers and stood sturdily behind Aaron Saint with no intentions of leaving the room.

''Okay, just don't say I didn't warn you''. Mandy Myers said.

''You are the one who is really sick. Do you know that? After failing to destroy my grandfather, you now resort to these despicable means just to get to us. My father said you were the real cause of your grandfather's death. Even as a young girl, you were greedy and selfish. Wicked and callous. You thought the world was unfair to only you''. Mandy Myers face changed as Aaron Saint spoke. The more she heard him the angrier she became.

Aaron Saint sensing the change in her, Aaron Saint knew he had hit a spot and continued. ''To think my grandfather almost married someone like you gives me the chills. You act and see yourself as the victim all the time. You have a victim mentality. You think the world should give in to you, but have you asked yourself this? What have you given the world to deserve what you want? If you don't give out something you will never get anything back''.

''Shut up!! How dare you talk to me that way? You have no idea the kind of life I've lived ever since that day your grandfather stole the what rightly belonged to me. You and your grandfather are thieves. All what you have now was supposed to be mine. Your grandfather stole the life I was meant to live. That is why I won't allow myself to go down alone. I won't be the only one going down. I have evidence of all the crimes that your little bride has committed. Imagine how crazy the city will be when they find out that you are the one who have been covering up for her?'' Mandy Myers spat out angrily.

''Really? Go ahead and let's see who is more powerful. You or me? You are already down and won't be able to get out of here. Now, where is August Maijune?'' Aaron Saint asked.

''August Maijune, Liyah Myers. Should I tell you a story about the women in your lives? Wow. Is so intriguing how intertwined these two lives are. I never would have imagined that a day like that would ever come. Imagine the look on their faces when they find out their parents' death was caused by none other than themselves? Tsk, tsk!! What a pitiful life their parents had to have died because of their children''.

''Stop beating around the bush and say what you want to say before I rip you apart''. Leo Martins told her. They knew the old woman was playing with them.

Mandy Myers smiled slyly and looked at them. She was enjoying pushing their buttons and watching their reactions.

''Rowena Myers asked me to deliver a message to you the last time I visited her. She said to tell you that she was now the queen in the women's correctional institute. The same place you will be going soon''. Aaron Saint said casually and Mandy Myers eyes flickered. Her grip tightened on the chair she sat on. The name she dreaded the most was Rowena Myers. She had hired people to torture Rowena inside the prison every day.

It was Rowena who said a message to Aaron Saint on the day of the wedding telling him to visit him if he wanted the truth about the connection between Liyah and August Maijune. Though Aaron Saint hasn't visited Rowena yet, he made arrangements for her safety according to her request.

Mandy Myers suddenly remembered something and a frown appeared on her face. She remembered she once lost a USB Drive. She wondered if it was in the hands of Rowena. Shaking the credibility of that thought, she returned to a calmer posture and said ''really? Well, that is interesting to know. Becoming the queen in such a place isn't easy. I should congratulate her when I get there''.

'Who said you are going there?'' Leo Martins asked.
