Master's Untamed Wife

Chapter 1419 : Good Kids

Chapter 1419 : Good Kids

They both didn't realize that someone was standing not far away listening to their conversation. Yue Yue turned her head to look at Zhai Kuijun and seeing the depression between his brows, she didn't know what to do to ease it. She really couldn't do anything about it.

She knew what kind of power she held over her own son. He would do everything as long as it made her happy. But she didn't want him to live such a life anymore. She didn't know why but despite all her efforts, her son's life still seemed to be revolving around her.

Noticing her gaze, Zhai Kuijun looked back at her and smiled when he saw the concern in her eyes. He shook his head at her to reassure her but it didn't really help.

They didn't make their presence known. Instead, Zhai Kuijun took her out of there.

Yue Yue thought about it hard before constructing her words and typing them out for him, 'Don't take Fai's words to heart. He speaks without thinking.'

Zhai Kuijun's smile deepened when he read the sentence and shook his head at her, "No, that's not right. Fai's thoughts are deeper than anyone else. He doesn't speak without thinking. But I don't blame him for having such thoughts either. I'm already glad that he didn't reject me or Yanjun outright. At least, he is trying his best to be civil with us."

'This is nothing to worry about. My son might act careless but he would never be rude to people for no reason. He doesn't dislike Yanjun either. You heard it too. He really liked Yanjun.'

"Yes, and he changed after knowing Yanjun's identity." Zhai Kuijun sighed to himself. He really wanted to be a part of his son's life but it was such a difficult thing to do. Breaking Zhai Yanjun's defenses was easy but Hyson was different. "I know that he is willing to accept me or Yanjun only for your sake. For your happiness, he can go to any length."

Yue Yue felt down when she heard this. She didn't feel proud of having a son who cared about her so much. It felt more like she was the shackle of his own existence. Sometimes, she wondered if she was the reason why her son was said to be an asexual.

'Right. He really can do anything as long as it can make me happy. But he doesn't realize that seeing him putting down his own happiness for my sake only makes me feel worse. I never intended to hold him back but somehow I did exactly that. I was the reason he was outcasted by his peers. No one wanted to play with a boy whose mother couldn't speak. I even wondered if he blamed me for that but he never did. He fought like a wolf with all those who pointed their fingers at me. I heard kids whose parents have some disabilities might develop some resentment toward their imperfect parents because that makes them seem different from their peers. But he had no resentment.'

Zhai Kuijun patted his shoulder as he comforted her, "I told you, he was always the sensible one. Why would he blame you or resent you for others's opinions? He is smarter than that."

'It's because he is so smart that he can't get over some hurdles in his heart. You should be patient with him. This patience might last a lifetime too. But I believe one day he'll get over the hurdle in his heart and accept you and Yanjun wholeheartedly.'

Zhai Kuijun smiled when he read her words and looked up at her, "Do you really think so?"

'I know so. He is my son. I raised him. I am pretty sure that he'd cave in once he sees your sincerity. Haven't you noticed that he never really fights with Yanjun? He never takes his anger out on him. If he was as unreasonable as he says he is, he'd have already had a fistfight with Yanjun. He might throw a verbal jab around but he is never really trying to hurt Yanjun. It's because Yanjun had always been exceptionally patient with him and even a little doting like an elder brother. And even though Fai looks like he finds him annoying, that's not the case.'

Zhai Kuijun thought about it and realized that the relationship between his two sons seemed to be something like that. He never noticed such details before but now that she pointed it out, he came to realize a lot more things. Hyson seemed to value sincerity a lot. It was Zhai Yanjun's sincerity that didn't allow Hyson to do something like take out his anger on Zhai Yanjun. It wasn't just because of his mother as he said it himself.

It seemed that Hyson was just as awkward at family relationships as his best friend Raelle. They both had peculiar family dynamics and their way of getting along with family was also different. Just like Raelle always kept an indifferent attitude toward her two siblings, Hyson did the same with his brother. But deep down, they both really cared even if they weren't willing to accept it.

Zhai Kuijun smiled to himself as he thought of this. They were such awkward kids. But they were such good kids too.

"I'm in no hurry," said Zhai Kuijun. "And I really didn't take Fai's words to heart just now. It did make me feel a little uncomfortable but that's it. I can't just go and demand him to accept me all at once. That'd be forcing things. And I don't want to force him for anything. Even if it really takes a lifetime, I will take my time. I have a lot to prove to him. How can it be done in such a short time?"

Yue Yue breathed a sigh of relief when she saw his relaxed smile. She really didn't want him to overthink things. No one wanted Hyson to have a good relationship with his father more than her. Because he needed a father in his life even if it was so late.
