Master's Untamed Wife

Chapter 1420: Serving Tea

Chapter 1420: Serving Tea

It was around lunchtime when Raelle and Shui Xian came down. Surprisingly, everyone was waiting in the living room which surprised Raelle. She thought no one would be around but the sneaky smiles made her realize that they purposely had been waiting for her.

Of course, when else would they get a chance again to tease her about coming out of her room at lunchtime? That was the first one and chances of that happening again were very minor, especially with these people around.

Because they'd all be living in their own homes once they go back so even if she really got wrecked all night by Shui Xian and couldn't get up on time, no one would know.

"Our newlyweds are here!" exclaimed Hyson excitedly. "Give them a round of applause!"

Raelle threw a glance at everyone who actually raised their hands to applause and that one glance made them drop their hands back down. They avoided her eyes instantly and Raelle was quite satisfied with their reaction.

Hyson tsked at them all for having no guts at all. "Stop scaring people."

"I did no such thing," replied Raelle. "What are you all doing here though? Don't you have anything else to do? Opa, even you are here?"

Grandfather Xiang rubbed his nose saying, "I only came out for lunch."

Raelle didn't expose him right now and said, "Then let's go and have lunch. I'm famished."

"Last night must have been rough."

"Wanna repeat that, Major?"

Xiang Wai shook her head, "No. I'm fine."

"I think our Major is waiting for you to serve tea to your father-in-law," said Hyson loudly and earned a glare from Xiang Wai.

"Traitor!"

"What made you think I was loyal to you?" retorted Hyson.

"Serving tea to Bà? Why?" questioned Raelle curiously.

"It's nothing," said Shui Koshing. "There is no need for such things either. Let's go and have lunch. You just said you are hungry. So, let's not waste time."

"Uncle Shing, that's not fair," said Xiang Wai. "Little sister, the new bride is supposed to serve tea to her in-laws on her first morning after. Didn't you do your research?"

"There is such a thing?" asked Raelle to Shui Xian who nodded his head. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"Because there is no need for it," answered Shui Koshing in place of his son. "From the moment you married Xian, I told you that you are like my own daughter. Why would we need such formalities between us? I thought we were closer than that, right?"

Raelle nodded her head, "Indeed. We are closer than that." Shui Koshing was satisfied when he heard that answer from her but she wasn't done yet. "However, a tradition is a tradition. When I managed to pull through so many meaningless ones, why can't I go through this one? I quite like the idea of this."

Xiang Wai's lips twitched when she heard such a response from her sister and Hyson burst out laughing, "That is like you."

Xiang Wai gave him a look, "Does it make sense? Why does she like this idea?" Discover more stories at m,v l'e-NovelBin.net

"Because Uncle Shing is the first father figure in Ellie's life," replied Hyson which stunned everyone in the room. "The place he has in her heart is different. Why won't she like serving tea to her own father? If Uncle Shing takes her as his own daughter, do you think Ellie is perfunctory when she calls him Bà? Then you really know nothing about my Ellie."

Mu Chenyan hummed as well, "Indeed, if you think our Elle is being perfunctory than you really don't know our Elle."

Raelle smiled at Shui Koshing who smiled back at her. He raised his hand to touch her head lovingly saying, "I just said it, what's need of such formalities between father and daughter?"

"What formality? This is just a daughter trying to do something for her father. Why? Am I not even allowed to do that?" She looked around but found no house help so she just called, "Where is the tea? Someone bring tea for me!"

They didn't have to wait long before the tea was brought in. Raelle didn't have to prepare tea on her own, she only had to pour it into the cup. She did so and offered it to Shui Koshing with her own hand, "Have some, Bà!"

Shui Koshing took the teacup from her hand, his smile didn't drop or diminish even for a second. He took a sip and put the cup down saying, "At this point, I'm supposed to give a gift."

"There is such a thing too?" Raelle widened her eyes and then said, "But I don't need a gift."

"No, this is non-refundable!" said Shui Xian as he took out a document from his side. "Tada!"

"Really, Bà?" asked Shui Xian as he saw his father acting like this.

Shui Koshing ignored his son and gave the document to Raelle, "This is the island that my father gave to me. Now, I'm giving it to you."

Raelle looked at the document that he put in her hands and then looked at Shui Xian who smiled softly and nodded his head to tell her to accept it.

"This..."

"Don't overthink things," said Shui Xian. "I have one and so does Amiah. Although we both got it from our Mom."

Only then did Raelle accept the documents and thank Shui Koshing, "There was really no need for this though?"

"Why is there no need? What am I gonna do with this island? I don't even go there. You are young, you should find time to travel around more."

"You are also still young and should travel around too," said Raelle.

"I agree so that's why I have decided to go on a cruise."

"Shing Ge, are you going on a cruise?" questioned Mu Chenyan in surprise. "I have never taken a long cruise too. Zhao, let's go too." Yue Yue raised her hand and Mu Chenyan nodded, "Yes, yes. How can I forget you? You are coming as well!" But then she froze and looked at Grandfather Xiang.

"I won't go," said Grandfather Xiang. "If I am around, you won't have any fun. You should go."

"How can I leave you behind?"

"I'm with grandpa," said Xiang Weimin. "It's gonna take me a long while to get back to my post. So, I have time to take care of Grandpa. Aunt, you should go."
