Chapter 422: Chapter 422 Thanks for the Reminder, Second Brother
The players from the Free and Easy studio were both annoyed and helpless, feeling incredibly aggrieved.

Reflecting on previous events, it was clear now why Li Yao claimed he needed to gather corpses. It was evident that he had planned this all along, having recognized the opportunity from the start.

He had intentionally sought them out, persuading them to give up the boss corpse they had spent half an hour messing around with to no avail.

All this resulted in a scenario that nearly made them vomit with anger and one which they struggled to comprehend.

They had tried every attack and tactic, none of which had worked at all, yet when it was Li Yao’s turn, he managed to extract two ‘purple’ (high-grade) items.

Moreover, they were incredibly practical purple items. Special gear was always in high demand. Seeing that what should rightly have been their loot being pocketed by Li Yao was far from pleasant.

If their second in command hadn’t said anything, they would have gladly drowned Li Yao in spells and retrieved their spoils.

But their second in command was a man of his word, always concernred about saving face. They all understood his character. He would rather swallow his pride than let Li Yao laugh at him, so they had to swallow this bitter pill today.

“Second brother, I’m so grateful. Without you, I wouldn’t have gotten this good equipment,” Li Yao professed sincerely.

The second in command’s face had gone from bright red to pitch black, but upon hearing Li Yao’s words, he squeezed out a thin smile, saying, “This is fate between brothers. It shows that these items were not meant for us.”

“Yes, indeed. Treasures naturally belong to those who deserve them. People with poor character are helpless, and this event has made me deeply understand. Sister Li, you should tell our members to refrain from doing unjust deeds like monopolizing bosses or else karma will catch up to them,” Li Yao deliberately dropped his voice to whisper to Sister Li, but it was utterly silent around them.

Everyone heard his words, and the faces of everyone in the Free and Easy studio changed. ‘Damn it’, they cursed, this was a typical case of reaping the benefits and still trying to act innocent.

Sister Li finally understood why Li Yao’s enemies hated him down to their bone marrow. His words cut deep. One look at the eyes of the players from the Free and Easy Studio made it clear. If looks could kill, Li Yao would have been stabbed a thousand times.

Recently, Li Yao seemed oblivious to the shift in the atmosphere, and with great enthusiasm said, “I am a straightforward person. Second brother, these two items were obtained because of you. Why don’t you take one of them so I can ease my conscience?”

The second in command saw Li Yao say this while equipping the items all by himself, he was rendered speechless again and even lost his smile. All he could muster to say was “Forget it, since you got them, they belong to you.”

“The character of our second brother is really worth cherishing. If I had to use one word, no, two to describe it, it would be magnanimous,” Li Yao concluded. “I didn’t expect to drop two pieces of equipment. I think there should be more? Could the power of the ancient gods be so magical? Let me try again.”

“Hmm, it might be possible. You try again then,” Although Sister Li didn’t understand what was going on, she too found it strange. But she felt Li Yao should give it another try. Who knows, perhaps he might get more good stuff.

Li Yao immediately launched the life deprivation with the Touch of Darkness, and waves of life essence flowed into Li Yao’s body.

After a while, no equipment dropped, Sister Li doubtfully said, “It seems it’s not working anymore.”

But Li Yao looked determined, saying, “No problem, there’s plenty of time. I’ll wear it down.”

Three minutes passed in the blink of an eye, and none of the Sea Giants made any movement.

The players from the Free and Easy Studio had already determined nothing further would appear. So, the discussion broke out.

“Chairman Liaoyuan is really amazing, he has the patience.”

“Well, he is Chairman Liaoyuan after all.”

“Yes, such people can succeed. I agree with what you said. He stubbornly insists, even when he knows he’s wrong. It’s not easy.”

“Absolutely, he needs a thick skin. Let me tell you guys, Chairman Liaoyuan is the person I admire and respect the most. You guys must not ridicule him.”

“Chairman Liaoyuan is also my idol. He truly shines even when he’s being foolish, hahaha.”

Laughter is infectious. The players from the Free and Easy studio burst into laughter. With the laughter, they soon felt completely relieved and their previous depression vanished.

“Cough, cough, seems like we were wrong,” having this happen while so many people were watching was indeed quite embarrassing.

“I actually think Brother Liaoyuan could persist a little longer. Maybe a miracle will happen.” The second in command’s face finally lightened up. He wasn’t an easy-going person either and now took the opportunity to mock Li Yao.

“Second brother is absolutely right. I lack determination. Then I will insist for a while longer.” Li Yao seemingly ignored the ridicule from second brother, instead turned his head towards the Sea Giant and gritted his teeth, “Damn Waste! Come on, I don’t believe you. If you don’t drop a weapon, I will torment you for a whole day. I have all the time.”

The players from the Free and Easy Studio once again burst into laughter. They thought Li Yao had gone too far, even talking to the corpse as if it could hear him. Originally, they were preparing to retreat, but now they relaxed. Seeing Chairman Liaoyuan make a fool himself was a first for them.

However, their laughter hadn’t lasted five seconds when they heard a ‘ding-dong’. Then, all their smiles froze on their faces.

Many couldn’t believe their own eyes and even rubbed them for confirmation. It wasn’t an illusion. Once they saw Li Yao pick up a magic wand, they finally recognized the reality of the situation.

Just as they stood there open-mouthed, under all their watchful eyes, the Sea Giant had dropped yet another piece of equipment. And just like Li Yao had mentioned, it was indeed a weapon.

“It’s actually a level 20 Purple Weapon that I can use.” Sister Li couldn’t take her eyes off it.

Sea Giant’s Magic Wand:

Li Yao shared the properties of the weapon as before, then thanked them all, saying, “Thank you very much, second brother, for reminding me. Otherwise, I might have given up. I didn’t expect that there would actually be another weapon drop.”

Saying this, Li Yao handed the weapon to Sister Li

Ahem…

The players from the Free and Easy Studio were almost choked with anger this time, and the second in command’s eyes turned bloodshot, he was furious.

No longer able to contain his anger, a murderous aura filled the air around him, creating a stark contrast with his earlier demeanor…
