Chapter 423: 423

The attributes of this Magic Wand are simply too good. The amazing attribute enhancements aside, the two effects are tremendously game-changing.

The extremely high water attribute enhancement makes it the best wand for a frost mage. This single attribute is insanely overpowered.

This is a level twenty epic gear, and in a time where level fifteen gear isn’t even that common, a level twenty epic gear, especially a weapon, could very well be considered divine. Considering there are only a few golden pieces of equipment throughout the entire server, this level twenty purple gear definitely stands out.

The loot dropped by wild bosses isn’t usually weaker than that of master-level dungeons, and weapons gained from dungeons are also pretty rare loot items.

Most importantly, now that we have this Magic Wand, at level twenty we can equip it directly. This will be very useful in our initial dungeon exploration.

Although the second transformation effect is not explained in detail, and the properties of several skills are unknown, just considering the skills seems that they will definitely not be weak.

As experts, they also understand the second meaning of the transformation effect – You can morph into a monster which boosts your health and armor. Even if your skills suck, this feature alone could save your life.

Naturally, the players from Prairie Fire Studio were seething with envy and uncontrollable anger.

It’s not surprising, after all. They went through hell and back to kill the boss, and strangely there were no first kill announcement, and their loot was stolen by their enemies.

Especially when Li Yao’s “thank you” sounded especially grating. If not for some semblance of sanity, the second brother from Prairie Fire would have almost given the order to attack.

“Brother Prairie Fire, we have other things to deal with, so we’ll take our leave now.” The second brother from Prairie Fire sucked in a few deep breaths to suppress his rage. He didn’t want to stay any longer than he had to. Every second in the place was torturous.

Li Yao responded with a big smile: “Why leave so suddenly? There may still be items to loot. Why not stay to see what we get?”

“No, you go ahead.” The second brother from Prairie Fire held back his rage and said: “Hearthstone.”

He didn’t want to stay here for a second longer. Dammit, even though they finished the mission, they were left with a disgusting feeling like they had swallowed a fly instead of any sense of accomplishment.

The players from Prairie Fire Studio glared at Li Yao resentfully and used their Hearthstone to go back to the city. They had lost face big time. They mocked Li Yao for half a day, but ended up being smacked in the face time and time again.

The players from Prairie Fire Studio quickly cleared out, leaving only Li Yao by the seaside.

“Let’s try again, there may still be equipment.” Li Yao’s elder sister also knew the hatred between them and Prairie Fire Studio. It was a miracle that a fight did not break out this time.

However, after today’s events, Prairie Fire Studio is bound to hate Li Yao with a passion. It was just too disheartening for them to give everything up for nothing.

Li Yao’s smile faded, and he said: “No need to try again. There are no more items.”

Sister Yao asked puzzledly: “How do you know?”

Li Yao pointed at the Sea Giant which started to tremble mysteriously.

“What’s going on here? Is the boss not dead yet?” Sister Yao asked in surprise.

Li Yao nodded, “Of course it’s not dead.”

Sister Yao jumped, then realized something: “If it’s not dead, then what’s going on with the loot just now? Didn’t it drop from it?”

Li Yao pointed at the transforming Sea Giant and said: “Alright, I won’t beat around the bush any longer. This guy was pretending to be dead. The loot did indeed drop from him, but not because he was killed. It dropped because it was threatened by my Life Deprivation.”

Sister Yao thought of Li Yao demanding a weapon while using Life Deprivation. The fact that a magic staff actually did drop made it seem like he was extremely lucky.

But now it was clear that luck had nothing to do with it. The boss was simply afraid of being killed by Life Deprivation, so it dropped the equipment itself.

Upon understanding this, Sister Yao was rendered speechless. How could there be a boss like this? What in the world is going on?

“You two damned creatures, give me back my treasure!” The light changed, and the body of the Sea Giant disappeared, replaced by a humanoid creature with a frog head.

Sister Yao was stunned. How the hell did a normal Sea Giant turn into a Frogman?

Li Yao responded, “An item given cannot be taken back. You are a prince of the Poison Arrow Frog tribe, surely such a noble prince would not do something like that?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Hand over my treasure now. There are only two of you left, I could kill you both in a few minutes. Dare to take that chance?” The Frogman Prince glared at Li Yao.

Li Yao wagged his finger, “I really don’t believe you could.”

“You’re asking for it.”

The Frogman Prince was furious. He too had been driven mad.

He was doing just fine when a group of players attacked him. He didn’t have a way out, but luckily he managed to trick those idiots by playing dead. But then out of the blue, Li Yao showed up.

If it were just any other method, he wouldn’t have had any problems dealing with it due to his bloodline. However, Li Yao’s Life Deprivation was too terrifying. He was losing life force constantly while the players were hungrily watching.

Seeing that Li Yao was after the loot, he started throwing items immediately. He did it to save his life, but it hurt him deeply.

Now that all those other people had left, and the two lucky beneficiaries refused to leave, the Frogman Prince couldn’t take it any longer and wanted to take back his treasure.

As the Frogman Prince roared, he transformed into a strange fish with wings. The fish could fly in the air like a bird and had a long narrow mouth like a spear.

After circling once, he charged at Li Yao like an arrow shot from a bowstring. He was very clear that it was Li Yao who tricked him.

Shadow Tentacle!

Sister Yao cast Blink and avoided the attack, and at the same time Li Yao cast Shadow Tentacle.

Thud…

The gigantic tentacle immediately entwined the strange fish and his life started draining at a rate ten times faster than Life Deprivation.

The Frogman Prince struggled violently, but to no avail.

“Let me go, let me go, I don’t want the loot anymore.” The Frogman Prince was scared out of his wits. In just a few seconds, two-fifths of his life had been absorbed.

Li Yao snapped his fingers, and the Shadow Tentacle loosened its grip. The Frogman Prince was thrown to the ground.

The Frogman Prince looked at the massive tentacle in fear, then despondently lowered his head: “Fine, I admit defeat. Let me go, and we’ll leave each other in peace.”

Li Yao responded indifferently: “You’re a noble Frogman Prince after all, this doesn’t seem like something a prince would do.”

The Frogman Prince responded desolately: “Now that I’ve turned into an undead like this, what prince am I? I’m just a homeless stray.”

Li Yao stopped the Frogman Prince again, and said: “Don’t be in such a hurry to leave.”
