Chapter 387: Lilith - Dragon Hunt
Keeping our heads low, Arsene and I, followed by the mournful duo, made our way through what was beginning to look like a bazaar. Pushing through the endless crowds of people consumed in chatter, Arsene held me close as not to be separated.
Resisting the urge to slaughter everyone present, I ignored the foul odor of the masses and continued till we saw a circle of various sect members glaring at one another.
"Something caught your eye?" Arsene transmitted into my mind.
Sensing the bloody intent radiating off the members in blood-red robes, I shook my head, "I don't know. But it's strange; Blood Laws are moderately frowned upon. Grandfather had said that it was one of the gateway Laws to evil."
Patting my head, Arsene shrugged, "It's not our problem; we need to find the Nexus Gate." He voiced, leading me around the blood robe Sect members that appeared to be in a stand-off with the Holy Swords.
Seeing the air growing denser by the second, Arsene suddenly stopped to my puzzlement. Holding me close, I could feel his intent wrap around me. Pressing my hands on his shoulder, I shook my head as a man stood in the air.
Nevertheless, I could feel the element of darkness cover my entire body, making me feel like I had faded from sight. Arsene shot a cold stare towards the duo still trailing behind us to follow.
"That is enough. Stand down the both of you!" an ancient voice resounded, releasing horrendous pressure that had everyone frozen in space.
"What realm is he in?" Arsene inquired within my mind, "I cannot even see his name. He is definitely protected by something, or he is proficient in Karmic Laws."
Nodding alongside Arsene, we both remained still even though we could move without issue.
"The Dragon's Hunt is about to commence. You may attack one another once everything starts. Are we clear?" He commanded in a heavy voice that seemed to contain the elements of a king.
"Bring me the heads of the Silver Dragon, Arkanos within the Kafiea Mountains, and no matter your race, identity, or sect, I swear to gift you a supreme Celeste Crystal."
Arkanos? Is it a new dragon?
Releasing the horrendous pressure beginning to bring those weak souls like Deb and Dreck to their knees, Arsene's smoldering eyes seemed to deepen, "I do not like to be looked from high above... much less form a mere insect."
Widening my eyes at the complete change, a chill I had only felt before those within the Nine Hells Arsene commanded, "Kneel."
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!
Pulling him down with everyone, our knees slammed into the ground just like everyone around us. Sweating at the pressure within the air, I shivered as the scent of blood filled the atmosphere.
Noticing everyone bleeding from the knees, Arsene turned to me as if I was a stranger. Holding him in my sights, I didn't back down as my gaze slowly became one with the abyss itself.
Moving slowly, my hands covered his eyes as a mass panic ensued around us. Arsene's command had came and went like a flash, but the damage and panic it had caused was massive. No one was mortally wounded, but pride... Pride was the only thing most of these cultivators had.
"Lilith," he said as I pulled him up, rushing ahead to his confusion. Leaving behind, Dreck and Deb, we fleed towards the base of the mountain.
"CALM!!! YOURSELVES!" That strange master's roared like bells, but neither Arsene nor I could see him as we stared up at the mountains.
Glancing around, I turned to Arsene with a solemn grimace. Opening my mouth to speak, I froze, unable to even express the turmoil I was in. Arsene was not in the least control that... that command... Where did he get that power? What the hell is going on?
"Sene... if Oasis of Demara cannot help, then we will head into the Pale Gate." I declared in a fearful hue as he wrapped his arms around me in silence.
Wigging within his arms, he sighed, "Take the Spear of Noctem. It will be able to control me." He transmitted within my mind.
"Not yet," I spoke aloud, shaking my head, "We still have time. In a major city, I will, but here you can be free."
Releasing me, he bitterly smiled and turned towards the base of the mountain we had reached within a matter of seconds instead of days, "You think the Nexus Gate will be at the top?"
"No, the Celestrial Palace needed it to be accessible to people... well, wealthy people. It will not be at the top but instead the middle."
"Feeling the ground beginning to shake, I turned towards the horde of countless people rushing towards us.
Chuckling, Arsene suddenly smiled, "Wanna race?"
"No, that is for..." Rushing off in front of him, I burst into laughter as he stood appalled while I covered a great distance.
Clenching his teeth, Arsene suddenly rushed towards me like a raging demon. Unable to stop laughing, Arsene and I became like a beam of Black and Amythest light that took to the mountain.
Giggling to myself at his angry expression, my mind trailed back to what had just happened. Studying his handsome appearance, I masked the pain within my heart. 'I truly hope those Etherial Bastards have the information I need. Some of these bastards are older than Asmodeus.'
Wiping the mist beginning to rise, a chill managed to trace our bodies as we arrived just at the very base of the mountains trail.
Sensing the massive amount of draconic energy, I frowned, looking up and through the mountain that seemed to hold a set of silver eyes that had locked onto my gaze.
"Lilith?" Arsene called, touching my shoulder.
"Can you see her?" I asked, not letting my eyes leave the eyes that seemed to hold such mystery within them.
"I do, and it reminds me of Ty. It appears to be a child." He said, patting my head.
"It has a powerful affinity to the Dao of Space... If we battle, it's going to take the both of us." I said, feeling a chill of excitement trickle from my bones.
"Than can we—"
Cutting off midway, a killing intent that seemed to cover the entire mountain range exploded from Arsene as The Spear of Noctem came into his hand, followed by a resounding ding.
BOOOM!!!!
Taking a few steps back at the mighty gush of force that sent tremors throughout the mountain, I turned towards a handsome man carrying a dark expression!
