Chapter 336: Ch.335 Into the Ocean

Diana's martial skills were excellent, and when it came to pure swordsmanship, the two could fight for a long time. During their intense battle, someone suddenly appeared in the middle of the battlefield.

Sss...

Su Ming immediately retracted his sword; they had almost sliced off Barry's head.

"What's up, Barry? Why do you always get weak in the knees whenever you see me?"

He helped Barry up. The guy's Speed Force seemed to have become unreliable lately, even though Barry said there was no danger of falling into the Speed Force dimension, Su Ming found that hard to believe.

"Nothing, Bruce just said there's a mission, and he wants me to hire you to join us." Barry was rubbing his knees vigorously, feeling like he almost started a fire on the rocky ground.

Su Ming narrowed his eyes. Bruce was now trying to send him away, meaning they had already taken action.

Well, that was fine too. He could move with Barry and the others for now, and after Batman suffered some setbacks, Su Ming's importance would become even more apparent.

"No problem. Price is negotiable. Let's go." Su Ming immediately put away his weapons and gestured for Diana to follow.

"What about the Suicide Squad..." Diana suddenly remembered the group was still in her room.

"Besides a bed, you have nothing else in there." Su Ming shrugged. The Suicide Squad members were lower-level; since even Batman had sent Barry and Wonder Woman out, it must mean this mission wasn't easy.

Storing the Suicide Squad here was better than prison conditions. They probably wouldn't have any objections.

So Su Ming roughly instructed Deadshot, then he, Barry, and Diana left the underground palace. After that, they found Arthur soaking in water in Aquaman's area, and the four set off together.

Their target this time was beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean. Currently, Su Ming could breathe underwater, whereas Barry and Diana needed to take her plane.

The group first took the invisible jet and "hopped" to the coast. Then, Su Ming and Aquaman went underwater, while Diana followed in the invisible plane.

The transportation device Hephaestus had made for Diana was indeed excellent. It worked like a submarine underwater, didn't leak a drop, and had decent speed.

Of course, Aquaman was the fastest underwater. He swam like a fish, while Su Ming grabbed onto the plane's side wing, essentially gliding.

The underwater environment began changing as they descended. At first, there were schools of fish and beautiful marine life, but eventually, everything turned pitch black, illuminated only by the invisible plane's headlights.

Stranglehold absorbed the pressure from the deep ocean, while the Demon Cloak provided Su Ming with a spell that let him breathe underwater. He didn't feel anything different—just a bit colder.

Soon they descended into a deep trench, and at its bottom lay a sea distinctly different from the rest.

"This is one of the underground seas. The upheaval triggered by the Homo Magi the other day connected some of the underground seas to the oceans. Back then, the waters were entirely poisonous."

Arthur used the underwater communicator to talk with the others, explaining the origin of this water.

For him, this place was still an unfamiliar area; even in Atlantis culture, the underground sea was only a legend.

"What's below?" Barry crouched inside the invisible plane, trying his best to peer into the distance, but it was all darkness ahead.

"There are some unknown marine creatures and several massive giants that can survive in toxic waters—undoubtedly all poisonous. Everyone, be cautious." Arthur carefully reminded them.

Su Ming got more information from Stranglehold. There was a very unfamiliar energy in these waters that caused the creatures living here to grow huge, but in humans, it acted like a poison, as if humanity was incompatible with this energy.

However, the symbiote protected Su Ming, so there were no such concerns for him. Among the group, only Barry might have a problem.

"I don't plan on leaving the plane. Just let me stay in here." Barry "crouched" in the plane, resigned.

Aquaman laughed, releasing a stream of bubbles, pointing at Barry's suit. "No matter what's down there, they can definitely see you."

"Wait, Arthur, is that a light in the distance?"

Diana's eyes sharpened as she continued to pilot the plane, raising an arm to point at a glowing spot in the abyss below.

Su Ming had discovered another advantage of the invisible plane—it was quite convenient for communicating with people outside the cabin.

Arthur squinted, looking downward, also puzzled. "I don't know. It could be a giant anglerfish of some kind. They all have that glowing first dorsal fin on their heads, but I'm not sensing any marine life responding to my brainwaves down there."

"Let's go check it out. Even if a fish eats us, or even a dragon swallows us, the four of us can still break our way out, right?" Su Ming spoke into his diving comm, not needing to open his mouth to speak. He had already let go, relying on his cloak to swim toward the light.

Arthur spun his trident, laughing. "Haha, you're right. Let's go."

Su Ming smirked. If Arthur kept laughing underwater, just how much seawater was he going to swallow?

Dark seawater rushed past, with turbulent currents at every turn. The complex geological conditions here made the water incredibly dangerous.

Every now and then, a massive shadow flashed by in the distance, a clear sign that this place was not suitable for creatures the size of humans.

Amid the immense water pressure, the four finally landed on the seafloor.

Not far away was the glowing point they had seen earlier, which now turned out to be a magnificent underwater structure.

"Incredible. How can there be a structure like this here?" Arthur shook his head repeatedly. This was clearly an area unfit for Atlantean life. How could there be such a grand building?

The lights emanating from within also clearly indicated the structure was intact and functional, possibly even inhabited.

"Uh, I know I shouldn't say this, but the house kind of looks like a giant version of Black Manta's helmet," Barry said hesitantly, looking at the building that was the size of a sports arena.

Every time Arthur heard the name "Black Manta," his arm started to ache. But Barry wasn't wrong; the building did look like that shape.

"Let's go; let's find an entrance," Arthur said, releasing a trail of bubbles as he swam forward. In the darkness, the light was like a beacon, attracting anyone who might pass by.

Being an underwater mystery, Arthur had no intention of not exploring it.

A few minutes later, they found a dock beneath the building and entered inside. It clearly bore signs of recent activity—not only was the temperature pleasant, but the air was fresh too.

"Inside, it's decorated in an Amazonian style," Diana said, looking puzzled at the ceiling and surrounding furnishings.

"The architecture uses Atlantean technology. Technology from centuries ago. I'm already getting confused..." Arthur said seriously, holding his weapon as they proceeded further in.
