Chapter 304 Make It Better
Chapter 304 Make It Better
"Mateo Smith managed to score just a single hat trick last season and it came against Frono pretty late in the season campaign, but this is just their fourth match of the season and he already has a hat trick." Jim articulated. "And with this hat trick, he has now gone above Roland Hills in the golden boot race, he now has seven goals while Roland still has five."
"Seven goals in four matches is pretty insane," Steve said.
"Yeah, it is insane," Jim said. "There's no coming back from this one for Lesica United, they could try to salvage a consolation goal but the hosts aren't going to make that easy for them."
Just like Jim said, Unique FC weren't going to make things easy for them as they had finally decided to park the bus after that third goal.
There were seven minutes of added time, but Lesica United weren't able to do anything meaningful with it until the referee blew his whistle thrice to bring the match to an end.
"It's all over, Unique FC has surprisingly grabbed a three-goal victory against Lesica United on their home turf handing them their first loss of the season." Jim articulated. "I know most of the odds were in Unique FC's favor, but I didn't expect them to hold Lesica United down to the extent that they wouldn't be able to score a single goal."
"You know Mateo was injured the last time they faced each other and Unique FC still managed to grab a win from a wonderful but today with Mateo, they felt the real pressure as the youngster grabbed a stunning hat trick." Steve expressed. "With this win, Unique FC has moved above Supreme United to second place with six goals difference, they'll be praying for Supreme United to lose tomorrow so that they can keep the second spot and wait for the opportunity to overthrow Dynamo FC."
"Yeah, Steve, but I don't see Supreme United losing to Junami United," Jim said.
"Yeah, but surprises happen in football, so we have to expect anything," Steve said. "You know, we also have to talk about Dave Richard's brilliant start to the season, excluding the match against Dynamo FC which he didn't take part in, Dave Richards has now kept three consecutive cleans sheets, compared to how he started last season conceding eight goals in three games, this is a huge boost, nobody has scored against him so far this season."
"Three clean sheets in a row, he's leading in the golden glove race, no other goalkeeper in the league even has up to two clean sheets but he has three," Jim said.
"It's almost unbelievable how fast things switched up for him, from the worst goalkeeper in the league to arguably the best in the league."
The commentators talked about a few other things and dropped their closing message before ending the broadcast.
As expected, Mateo Smith was announced as the man of the match, he scored a hat trick and had a phenomenal performance so giving it to anyone else was going to be a daylight robbery and was surely going to spark up a lot of angry reactions from a lot of fans.
Emma had to leave the official interview to her blonde-haired female colleague who had been pestering her to do it.
Mateo knew that they were going to pick him for the interview but he didn't want to do it, so he pushed in Roland to do it in place of him.
"Hey, How's your nose?" Emma asked before gently placing her hand on his nose.
"Yeah, the bleeding has stopped now, it still hurts a little but it's nothing to be worried about." The goalkeeper replied.
The goalkeeper had Carlo's shirt hanging over his shoulder as the Lesica United goalkeeper had asked for a shirt swap as soon as the match was over.
"Okay," Emma said before she pulled her hand back and turned her gaze to Mateo.
"You don't have to ask me anything, I'm okay." The winger said abruptly.
"That wasn't what I wanted to ask you." She said as the expression on her face turned to a not-so-pleasant one.
"Then what is it?" Mateo asked before flinching back a bit.
"Why did you force Roland to go do the interview? You were the one we wanted there."
"Hey, don't just say things like that, I didn't force him, he was the one who wanted to do it, can't you see how happy he is?"
"Oh, just forget it." She said before letting out a deep sigh.
"Who's the blonde girl?" Dave asked.
"Oh, that's Amber, she's a new employee who was just transferred to my department so I have to be her guide and show her how the practical part of things work," Emma replied.
"And right off the bat, you're telling her to handle something like that." The winger said.
"Hey, she was the one who was pestering me to do it."
"Yeah, but you could have at least stayed there and monitored how things are going, what if she asks him an out-of-context question on camera?" Mateo said.
"Now that you've mentioned it, that is something she is capable of doing." She said as a panicking look suddenly appeared on her face. "I have to go, see you guys later."
The players watched her until she got to the area before they turned and began to make their way down the tunnel.

The two got to the locker room to see that most of their teammates were already there but Norman wasn't there yet.
Norman had something to tell them like he always does at the end of every match, but they had to wait for everyone to get there.
'I expected them to be celebrating wildly since this was a huge victory but…'
"They thought we were the Unique FC of last season but we showed them what we're made of!" Minino yelled before jumping on the table in the middle of the room.
"Of course, the celebration just hadn't started yet." The goalkeeper said before he made his way to one of the seats and sat down there.
