Chapter 206: The situation
Chapter 206: The situation
The Spirit snorted at the woman, but she didn't immediately attack.
Something was weird. Anxiety began to crack the Spirit's mind.
She could feel the source of the pressure on the tip of her tongue but just couldn't name it.
The last time she tried to possess someone while looking down on them, she got trapped within Yang Wei's body and almost died. She had learned from that to completely break the opponent's morale before she attempted to devour the Soul of a person.
"Tell me what I have to keep in mind living as you. I will do it for you in this lifetime; I will become a good, obedient wife for that man." The Spirit said, hiding her nervousness; her face even seemed a bit sad she had to do this to Liyue.
"They would never hurt you when you are in my appearance," Liyue said, her tone soft, wiping her eyes. "But sadly, you won't have the chance. And today, I probably will murder a sentient life for the first time."
The Spirit's face changed.
She herself had an extremely oppressive feeling the moment Liyue entered the Empty Space.
She finally got it!
It was as if she was not standing before a single Evolved but seven of them!
Liyue looked at her, and her sad bearing changed. It became contemplative, self-deprecating.
"Big Brother taught me so much and is proud of me…" She shook her head. "I am not worth it. When an actual adversity happened, I was crying my eyes out and not reacting calmly enough."
From the moment she had arrived here, Liyue had been sure of something. She had been panicking for no reason. She had been putting the Spirit on… too high a pedestal when she was on the other side.
It was afraid to attack an actual Evolved, and she had 7 of what constituted an Evolved. She was not normal, and not normal meant… good in her man's words.
She had 7 of the Empty Spaces in her body, and that should be the reason for it—her Existence was stronger than the current Spirit's punching weight. It had even been apprehensive of Hua Feilan… not to mention her.
And then calmly, ignoring the squirming Spirit, she looked at herself.
She was covered in golden shadows. Lights of golden brilliance.
When she was here, surrounded by the golden shadow around her, she felt secure. Even if she was weaker than the Spirit, she had a feeling that she wouldn't need to be worried—this light protected her.
Indeed, she was right.
Outside Liyue's body, Han Li's existence was also covered in this golden light, but his golden light was intense. Far, far more intense than anyone else. Even Ruo and Liyue's golden light would hardly compare to a glass when he was beyond a river.
The golden light around him spun in unique ways, and suddenly, he opened his eyes. He was filled with worry. Did Liyue have any issues with her Dao Soul after Evolving?
It was a worry out of nowhere.
He opened his eyes and focused on Liyue's beautiful face with Life Vision. His face immediately changed when he saw the… Unawakened Status he was all too familiar with.
Yet, it was still Liyue. Had he looked a second ago, he might have seen a different name.
The Spirt itself had started to be entwined in this golden halo now, but unlike people on their side, it was being tied down, and everything was slowly becoming more transparent in its body. Liyue calmly looked at it.
Then, she asked, "I do instinctively know how to, but I don't want to devour a living thing; why don't you leave my body?"
The Spirit was no fool. She already knew she was trapped. There was some kind of thing around these people's Existence that she seemed to lack entirely—golden shadows. She could also feel how bad a choice Shan Liyue had been to possess.
This woman was super weird!
No, everyone around here was super weird.
She coldly looked at Liyue. "Don't be too arrogant. Indeed, I had been too arrogant, thinking you would have a weak Existence, but even if yours is stronger, I have more experience. I'll take you with me if you try to kill me."
Liyue looked at her hand. Ignoring the Spirit again.
"So this Existence thing is where our memories, our Proficiency of weapons, and every such is stored?" she asked.
The Spirit grew even more apprehensive. 'I should leave!'
She would die if she stayed long outside a physical body, but her Vital Weapon—the Mirror Mind, would be able to carry her Existence for a while. She would not be greedy this time and would choose a more normal boy to start cultivation.
She had been too greedy this time!
She was too injured, and her Existence was too weakened.
She started to fade away, and Liyue didn't do anything.
Honestly, she didn't know what she could do to kill or stop the Spirit. Just that, before the woman left, she aimed a palm at her, thinking of her Spear in mind.
The woman harrumphed. "My Existence might be weaker, but my Proficiency?" The phantom of a war blade destroyed the slight phantom of a spear before it even manifested.
Yet, the Woman's face changed as six more spears appeared around her before she could react and pierced her. Even Liyue was a bit dumbfounded.
The Spirit's expression was so transparent that she was almost nonexistent as Mirrors manifested around her. She couldn't use her own powers more than that.
Liyue chuckled amusingly.
How the positions had shifted…!
"Why don't you become my pet? A chicken I am looking after has many unhatched eggs. You can enter one of them, and I will not mind."
The Spirit desperately tried to move out of Liyue's Empty Space, but somehow, the passage was not there. She tried again. It was not there.
Liyue smiled. She had just noticed that she had a passage around all seven of her Empty Spaces. She could enter any of the seven using the passage and just as easily come back. She could also close the passage.
The Spirit could only moan in her heart.
Failure!
A great failure!
