When she arrived at the address Liam sent, Owen was already waiting at the door.
This property was a 30th birthday gift from Liam’s grandmother, just finished renovations in late spring. So this was her first visit since the renovation.
Right now, however, Celeste didn’t have the mood to appreciate the renovation.
Owen led her into the house. As soon as they reached the living room, she saw a giant wedding photo on the wall, just like the one in Pinecre Manor, only much larger.
Celeste was stunned.
Owen said, “The house was ready a long time ago, but it took a while to order this photo wall. Liam originally planned to move in here with you. It quieter”
Celeste was silent for a moment, then asked, “Does Liam give you a bonus every month for improving marital relations?”
Owen was always good with words, always hitting the right note.
Owen smiled, “Not really, but if you’re willing, you can help me apply for it with Liam.”
Just then, Steven called. When Celeste’s incident happened, he was busy setting up a family dinner at the hotel. His phone was charging, and he didn’t find out about the incident on set until he was done
As soon as Celeste answered the phone, Steven anxiously asked, “Celeste, are you okay?”
Celeste rubbed her temple and said softly, “I’m fine, Steve. I probably won’t be able to make it to the gathering today. Can you apologize to my grandparents for me? Once this blows over, I’ll visit them myself.”
Steven said sternly. “We’ll talk about the gathering later. Where are you right now? I’ll send a car to pick you up. It’s unsafe since your address has been exposed. I’ll find you a safe place to stay.”
Celeste said, “No need. I didn’t go home. I’m in a safe place where no one can find me.”
Steven had a bad feeling. “Where are you?”
Celeste said, “I’m at Liam’s, not his Pinecrest Manor, but his other property. Very few people know about this.”
Steven knew about it! Even though he was a bit upset, it wasn’t something to fuss about right now. Steven said, “For the next few days, it’s best to keep a low profile. Don’t answer calls from unknown numbers, leave your social media accounts to your assistant, and I’ll contact you if anything comes up.”
Celeste pursed her lips and asked, “Aren’t you going to ask me if I pushed her?”
Steven thought to himself, even if she really did push, he got her back. But he was afraid that saying this might freak Celeste out, so he said, “You’re not the kind to do such a thing, plus doing it under the camera, that’s too obvious. You ain’t that dumb.”
