The maid greeted him as he pushed the door open.
“You’re back?”
Liam asked grumpily, “Is she back?”
‘Mrs. Reed went upstairs to get something. The maid replied.
As soon as the maid finished, Liam rushed upstairs.
When he reached the master bedroom door, his footsteps slowed down.
The bedroom door was not closed tightly, and Liam heard the sound of a drawer being pulled open. He gently pushed the door open and entered. Celeste was squatting by the bedside table, looking for something, unaware of the movement behind her.
Liam gently coughed.
Celeste turned her head and glanced at him, then said before he could speak, “I’ll leave as soon as I get my things.”
Liam frowned, “I didn’t say you had to go.”
Celeste didn’t answer.
She found her documents and put them in a briefcase, then stood up.
Seeing her about to leave, Liam quickly blocked her way.
Celeste stopped, holding up the bag in her hand, “Do you want to check if I’m taking anything from your family?”
Liam frowned, “That’s not what I meant. I want to talk to you.”
Celeste glanced at him, “What do I have to talk about with you?”
Liam pursed his lips, and as Celeste impatiently tried to leave, he whispered, “I didn’t know your bank card was frozen.”
Celeste chuckled. “You didn’t know, and you think that makes you innocent, right?”
Liam frowned, “Why do you always twist my words? I’m apologizing to you.”
Celeste mocked, “Your apology is so unique, I couldn’t even tell it.”
Just as Celeste finished speaking, she heard Liam whisper, “I’m sorry.”
Celeste looked at Liam in surprise, then raised her head to look at him, “Liam, I want to ask you something, and you have to answer honestly”
Liam looked at her without saying anything.
