Chapter 466

Celeste put all her strength into that slap, and her sharp nails left two long red marks on Liam’s face

Liam was stunned, this was the second time she had ever hit him

il the first slap was just to resist his brute force, this one was filled with obvious hatred.

Being slapped in the face is humiliating at any age, let alone for someone like Liam

So when Celeste was about to slap him a second time, Liam furiously grabbed her wrist and said, “Celeste, enough! Do you really think I won’t touch you?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Liam froze because Celeste’s eyes were filled with tears.

In all the years they’d been married, Celeste had never cried like this, except when watching dramas.

He had always thought she was heartless and carefree, but seeing her cry in front of him shattered his heart.

He released her hand in confusion and whispered, “I didn’t really hit you either.”

Celeste’s voice trembled, “Liam, the biggest regret of my life is marrying you. J City is so big, don’t let me see you again from now on.”

After shaking off his hand, she picked up her things and walked away.

Liam stood there dumbfounded for a while before chasing after her, but Celeste was long gone in her car.

Amelia didn’t stop Celeste. Seeing Liam come downstairs, she didn’t dare ask questions and turned to tidy up the room.

Liam stopped her, “You said before that Celeste asked you to send the medicine to the hospital?”

Amelia nodded.

“What day did you send it?”

“The morning after Mrs. Reed’s mother passed away.”

Liam asked, “Did she say anything?”

“No, she just looked a bit pale. I heard that she fainted from grief the night her mother passed away, so maybe that’s why she looked so pale.”

Liam didn’t say anything.

Why did Celeste send the medicine to the hospital when Caitlyn had just passed away and she didn’t even have time to grieve?

Why was she so angry when she heard he was the one who sent the medicine?

“Is there any medicine left?”

Amelia shook her head, “There were only three bottles left that day, and I sent them all to her.”

Liam didn’t ask any more questions and called Owen instead.

Owen had just returned from A City and had only slept for two hours when he received Liam’s call.

“Hello, Mr. Reed.”

“Owen, check the store where my mom got the medicine for Celeste and look into the prescription.”

Owen sat up, “Didn’t we check the prescription before? What happened?”

Celeste and Liam had been married for over a year, and she hadn’t gotten pregnant.

The family was pushing them, so they both went for a thorough medical check–up.

Liam was perfectly healthy, but Celeste had damaged her body in a car accident years ago. The doctor said her uterine wall had poor elasticity, making it difficult for her to give birth. Even if she did get pregnant, there was a significant risk of miscarriage.

When she went to get the test results, she even thought Liam would divorce her because of it. But Liam surprisingly kept it a secret.
