Celeste suddenly felt like she’d been had.

“If I’d known, I would’ve said five bucks.”

While Celeste just felt cheated, Liam felt like his world was turned upside down.

Was this even how bargaining works?

Celeste wasn’t just haggling for the sake of it. She was a regular at this flea market and had a pretty good idea about the prices.

She just didn’t expect the guy to ask for so much.

As the vendor was packing Celeste’s clothes, Liam picked up a piece of lingerie and asked, “How much for this?”

The vendor glanced at it and said, “One fifty.”

Thinking of how Celeste had haggled, Liam said, “That’s too much; cut me a deal.”

The vendor said, “Name your price.”

Liam said, “Ten.”

The vendor was taken aback, grabbed the lingerie, and tossed it back onto the pile of clothes. “No deal.”

Liam was speechless.

Celeste burst out laughing.

Liam felt a tad miffed. Was there anything he wasn’t good at?

So he imitated the haggling women and said, “Just ten, or I’m outta here.”

The vendor didn’t hesitate, “Off you go! Ten? Are you here to ruin my business?”

For the first time, Celeste saw Liam at a loss and laughed her head off.

Liam, not succeeding, was indignant. “Then, name your price.”

The vendor glanced at him, “Nothing less than fifteen dollars.”

Liam said, “My two pieces use less fabric than what she bought; isn’t fifteen dollars a bit much?”

The vendor said, “Look at the quality, the elasticity. I’m just making a profit on shipping. Check out other stores; if you find the same quality for a cheaper price, I’ll give you this for free.”

Liam thought it over, fifteen dollars… that’s almost half off. So he said, “Alright, I’ll take it.”

The vendor immediately smiled, “I’ll pack it for you.”

After paying, the vendor cheerily said, “Come back it fits well.” Thinking, I just made seven dollars.

Once they were a bit further away, Celeste said, “The vendor’s over the moon.”

“Huh?”

Celeste glanced at him, “With customers like you who can’t haggle, how could he not be happy? He made at least six dollars off you.”

Liam frowned, “Why didn’t you warn me?”

Celeste rolled her eyes at him, “Who knew you’d agree as soon as he named his price?”

Liam defended himself, “He can’t have made that much. The quality seems alright, and it’s handmade, plus the cost of processing and shipping and the retailer’s markup. Fifteen dollars can’t be much profit. The vendor has to make something.”

It’s just a few threads woven into a fishnet. How could you tell it was of good quality?

Seeing Liam looking like he didn’t feel ripped off, Celeste thought he looked kind of cute.

She handed the clothes to Liam, “Want to change into this? It’ll be cooler.”

Liam said, “No need.”

Celeste glanced at him, “Don’t you like the clothes I bought you?”

“No, that’s not it.” Liam quickly responded, “I’ll go change.”

He took the clothes and headed towards the guardhouse. Celeste waited outside for a bit and then Liam came out.

She looked up and said, “Maybe you should change back.”

Liam had always worn clothes for someone 185 cm tall, which was what she chose, but this shirt was tighter than what Liam usually wore. It was supposed to be loose, but on him, it was tight and showed off his muscles.

Liam asked, “Does it look bad?”

Celeste said, “That’s not what I mean.” Saying this, she poked him lightly on his pecs and whispered, “It’s just a bit… s*xy.”
