Chapter 429: The Unexpected (Part One)
Compared to the home country, UK was much safer.
None of the forces of families in A City, be it those of Family Ji or Yang Muyan, could be as strong as those of Family Jing in the UK. Family Jing had been rooted in the UK for a very long time.
As the real identity of Yang Muyan was revealed and the news spread all over the City, another shocking piece of news appeared. As per the article, an infight was going on in Family Ji where the uncle and the nephew were fighting against each other. Ji Bo had combined forces with Yang Muyan and tried to take over the inheritance of Family Ji and forced Ji Minjue to step down so that Ji Bo could be the President, instead.
Again, Family Ji became the hottest topic of A City. It was being said that Ji Bo dared not show up in public, because he would be hounded by the journalists.
The Old Lady of Family Ji, however, got so furious that she collapsed yet again and was sent to the hospital.
The stock price of Family Ji’s Enterprise dropped drastically and the company’s staff started panicking.
Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning, however, were not affected by this turmoil. They were spending time in the UK, leisurely and were busy making preparations for the wedding.
One day before the wedding, the bridesmaids and the best men, namely Zhao Anan and Mu Qing, Zheng Jing and Zheng Lun reached the destination. Other guests, including the members of Family Jing, Huang Lihan and Shangguan Xing’s family, also came to the site.
Every guest was residing at a five star hotel not far away from the church where the wedding was going to be held. The hotel belonged to Jingsheng Enterprise and was one of the many more such properties in the UK.
Shangguan Ning was indeed very happy about the upcoming wedding, but Zhao Anan and Zheng Lun were even more excited than her. They kept talking for the entire day until Jing Yichen came to drive them away. Zhao Anan and Zheng Lun finally left reluctantly.
Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning had also moved to the hotel for convenience. There was a long distance between the church and the villa, and Jing Yichen didn’t want Shangguan Ning to get too tired.
The gown and the shoes for the wedding had been delivered, and Shangguan Ning caressed them happily.
The gown was white and alongside, there were three sets of red Chinese gowns also sent along with matching shoes.
Each garment was exquisitely made and costed a crazy amount.
But Shangguan Ning didn’t care about the price. She only cared about what they meant.
She was going to keep these clothes carefully so that decades later when she was old and saw these beautiful clothes, she would still be thronged with happy memories.
Jing Yichen’s suit was also delivered alongside Shangguan Ning’s by the designers. It was a white, hand stitched suit with a white shirt and a matching tie. It was a traditional color for weddings in the UK, which symbolized happiness.
Jing Yichen barely had any white suits in his wardrobe. Most of his suits were dark in color, steady and mature, just like him.
Shangguan Ning recalled what he looked like when he had tried the suit on, a couple of days ago.
He looked just like the perfect prince of a fairy tale.
People were visual beings. They could not stop themselves from taking another glance at beautiful things and falling for them.
Shangguan Ning was no exception. She had been living with Jing Yichen for so long and knew him inside out but she still couldn’t help getting attracted to him.
It was more than the appearance. It was his inborn charisma which made him nearly irresistible.
At this moment, she fell for him one more time.
Luckily this man had become hers, otherwise she might not have been able to prevent herself from approaching him and fighting for him.
Shangguan Ning stretched out her hands and caressed Jing Yichen’s suit with a smile.
She was going to be his bride!
A smile also hovered over Jing Yichen’s lips when he saw the happy expression on Shangguan Ning’s face.
He was so excited that he could hardly keep himself calm. He had not been this nervous for a very long time.
He didn’t want anything wrong to happen at the wedding. He wanted to give the woman he loved, the perfect most wedding.
Jing Yichen went to her and held her softly from behind.
They were silent but their heart and soul were connected and didn’t need any words.
Jing Yichen took care of most matters for the wedding. Shangguan Ning didn’t need to do a thing. On top of this, Jing Yichen had to manage Jingsheng Enterprise and Ji Bo and Yang Muyan at the same time.
Therefore, Jing Yichen looked a bit exhausted, while Shangguan Ning was radiant.
Shangguan Ning turned around and got a bit concerned by his looks.
“These matters are endless. Don’t tire yourself out, completely. We are here for our wedding, right?”
Jing Yichen chuckled and said, “I am not tired. Everything is worth it if I can marry you.”
Shangguan Ning pursed her lips and clung to him. “But I will be unhappy if you get tired.”
“My wife should be concerned about me as I should be about her. You must tell me if you feel uncomfortable tomorrow during the wedding. Don’t take too much pressure. You and the child are the most important in all this.”
Shangguan Ning nodded. “Yes, I know. But I am not that spoiled. It is just a wedding, I am sure I will be fine. Don’t worry!”
They were still talking when a noise came from outside the room.
Jing Yichen frowned slightly but then his expression relaxed.
He kissed Shangguan Ning’s lips and said, “Wait for me here in the room, I will go and take a look.”
Shangguan Ning nodded and agreed smilingly.
She was not worried that something might happen here. Jing Yichen and his father had made strict security arrangements. There was no possibility of any issues coming up.
Shangguan Ning turned to put the wedding gown and dresses into the wardrobe and had just closed the wardrobe when the room’s door opened.
She turned her head with a smile. “So soon...”
Before she said anything more, Shangguan Ning’s smile froze when she saw the man at the door. Then she fainted.
