Chapter 430: The Unexpected (Part Two)
In the long corridor which had been decorated with magnificent embellishment, Jing Yiran was holding onto Mo Lan’s arm with one hand and had placed the other behind her back. He was supporting her and looked very devoted to her, just like a filial grandson.
But he didn’t do a good job at it and ended up looking cold and proud, ruining the atmosphere which he had tried to create.
“Dad, I am here just to attend my brother’s wedding and to pass my blessing to him and my sister-in-law. I won’t cause any trouble, please don’t worry. I know what occasion it is and I will not humiliate you.”
He talked in an upright way as if he had grown up overnight.
Dressed in a black suit, a white shirt and a navy coloured tie, Jing Yiran had dyed his hair back to black and sounded like an obedient and docile child.
But Jing Zhongxiu knew Jing Yiran very well. He might have changed on the surface but not from within. If Jing Yiran could ever change, then the sun would rise from the west the next morning.
He was talking so loudly as if trying to make everyone hear what he was saying. Was it not causing trouble?
“I don’t have a son like you. Get out. Your presence is not welcome here.”
Jing Zhongxiu looked rather displeased and sounded very cold. His gaze was not fixed at Jing Yiran but at Mo Lan who was standing next to Jing Yiran.
Apparently, Mo Lan was the one who had let Jing Yiran in.
Jing Zhongxiu had issued an enclosure order to the hotel and no guests were allowed inside unless they had the invites.
Jing Yiran had not got any invitation. Mo Lan must have managed to bring him in.
It was his son’s wedding the following day, which was the most significant thing that was happening in Family Jing in the past few years but Mo Lan still wanted Jing Yiran to be involved. Jing Zhongxiu was quite displeased.
He almost lost his patience towards Mo Lan.
His life had been ruined because of Mo Lan’s stubbornness. Was she going to ruin Jing Yichen’s as well, now?
Was she really not intelligent enough to get a clear idea of what was happening or did she simply not care about Jing Yichen?
She had always favored Jing Yiran and Jing Zhongxiu hadn’t objected to it. After all, Jing Yichen was not good at pleasing the old lady like Jing Yiran. But he was the heir of Family Jing and she needed to have a limit to her favouritism for the other child.
Jing Yiran couldn’t have come to the wedding with a pure purpose. He and Jing Yichen had been enemies for years and wanted each other dead every time they met.
Offer blessings to Jing Yichen? Even Mo Lan couldn’t have believed that.
It could be seen clearly that Jing Yiran didn’t feel a thing for Family Jing when he sold those shares of Jingsheng Enterprise, without any hesitation. He had never cared about Family Jing and if anything happened to Family Jing, Jing Yiran might be happy rather than upset.
He had always thought Family Jing had owed him something, but as a matter of fact, it had been he and Zhang Rong who owed Family Jing and Jing Yichen!
Jing Zhongxiu had always been decisive and he never took back any decision he had made.
Since Jing Yiran had been driven out of Family Jing and no longer belonged to the family, he had no qualifications of attending the wedding. Otherwise, what Family Jing said would mean nothing!
“You have already been removed from Family Jing. I don’t care where you go, but you are not welcome here. If your intent is to ruin this wedding, then I suggest that you put a stop to your imagination right now. You know pretty well what Family Jing can do to anyone who goes against the family.”
Jing Zhongxiu looked at the guests who were coming out of their rooms and then lowered his voice.
It was better to keep the ugly family affairs between themselves.
But Jing Yiran spoke in a purposefully loud voice as if he had seen through what he was thinking, “Dad, I am really here just to give my brother blessing. He will marry only once in his life. You can’t possibly turn me down, can you? Even if you don’t want me as your son, I still have your blood running in my veins. I must attend the wedding!”
“You are the master of Family Jing and I can’t force you into doing anything. But you should not turn him away when Ran offers his sincerity. A family should be united on this wonderful occasion. What is your objection to letting Ran attend this? Even the outsiders are allowed to the wedding so, why can’t the family be here then?”
Mo Lan defended Jing Yiran as she held his hands and stared at Jing Zhongxiu, sounding full of grudges.
Jing Zhongxiu pressed down the anger in his heart and said expressionlessly, “Can he tell which one is the outsider and which one is family? He is here to watch the show and you are messing around with him too. Since when did you start to care about our family?”
Annoyed, Mo Lan said with a low voice as she saw the guests around, “What do you mean by Ran is messing around? Nothing will happen if he is allowed in the hotel. You are the one who is making a fuss here. Move from here and let Ran rest. He has not fully recovered and even travelled in this state. He needs to lie down.”
Jing Zhongxiu didn’t move an inch. And the security guards behind him didn’t move, either. They were not going to let Jing Yiran in.
If Jing Yiran was allowed to enter in front of the guests, then it would mean that he had accepted him as part of Family Jing, again.
The guests shared a close relationship with Family Jing and possessed great power. They were either the masters or the heirs of the families and it was important how he treated Jing Yiran in front of them.
If he accepted him, then Jing Yiran would have easy access to collaborating with these people. That was not what Jing Zhongxiu wanted to happen.
But if he turned Jing Yiran down at the door in front of these people, then any collaboration with him would become much more difficult. It was quite a risk if anyone wanted to collaborate with those who were not admitted to Family Jing.
“I was not joking about driving him out of Family Jing. He is not a part of the family anymore and has no right to be at the wedding after he sold the shares of the enterprise to others.”
Jing Zhongxiu sounded poised and emotionless. But Mo Lan knew her son well. She knew that Jing Zhongxiu was absolutely furious.
But she was not scared of the furious Jing Zhongxiu. She was displeased by the fact that Jing Yiran had been driven out forcibly and wanted to scold him for a long time because of that.
