MY SUGAR MUMMY IS A BEAUTIFUL VAMPIRE

Chapter 244: The night before the eclipse

Chapter 244: The night before the eclipse

The night was still and quiet as Elena made her way to Blake's room. She wanted to check on him to know if he was already asleep or not. Elena moved silently, careful not to make any noise.

When she reached Blake's door, Elena gently turned the handle and peered inside. The room was dimly lit, but she could make out Blake's figure lying motionless on the bed. His breathing was slow and steady, indicating he was sound asleep.

Elena watched Blake for a moment, studying his peaceful expression.

Deciding it was best not to disturb him, Elena quietly closed the door and made her way down the hallway. She had somewhere else to be tonight. It was time to meet up with Drake and put their plan into motion.

As Elena walked, her mind raced with the details of what was to come. The next major event was the eclipse, and she already knew exactly what the villagers were planning. But they had no idea what she had in store for them.

Elena arrived at her private condo and headed straight for one of the secluded rooms. As she opened the door, a familiar figure emerged from the shadows - Drake. He gave Elena a nod of acknowledgment as she entered.

But they were not alone in the room. In the far corner, bound and gagged, was Kabib - Nana's betrothed from the village. His eyes were wide with fear as he struggled against his restraints. He appeared battered and bruised on the floor.

Elena approached Kabib, a wicked smile spreading across her lips. "Don't worry, my friend," she said in a mock soothing tone. "You won't be alone for much longer. All your people will be joining you in the grave tonight. You'll have plenty of company in the beyond."

Kabib's muffled cries were drowned out by Elena's chilling laughter as she turned away from him. Drake watched the scene impassively, awaiting his orders.

"Let's go," Elena said, her voice taking on a businesslike tone. "We have work to do."

Elena and Drake strode out of the condo and made their way up a tall hill overlooking the village. From their vantage point, they could see the villagers bustling about, preparing for their festival and rejoicing at the coming eclipse.

Elena's eyes narrowed as she surveyed the scene below. A cruel smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she spoke. "Look at them, Drake. Scurrying about like ants, completely unaware of what's coming."

She threw her head back and laughed, a harsh, mocking sound that seemed to echo across the village. "They think they have me fooled, that I don't know their pitiful plans. Oh, how wrong they are."

Elena fixed her gaze on Drake, her eyes burning with a sinister light. "Go down there and bring me that local girl Blake meets up with. Kill everyone, including those who gets in your way. I want to watch as their pathetic lives are snuffed out one by one."

Drake didn't hesitate. With a curt nod, he blurred into motion, racing down the hillside towards the unsuspecting village with inhuman speed.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the island, Reggie, Gunther and Randall had picked up on the distant sounds of screaming and chaos. The three brothers exchanged puzzled looks, their enhanced senses confirming the disturbance was coming from the village area.

"What in blazes is going on over there?" Gunther muttered, his brow furrowed in confusion.

Randall shook his head slowly. "I don't know, but it doesn't sound good. We'd better check it out."

The three set off in the direction of the commotion, moving swiftly but cautiously through the dense foliage. As they drew nearer, the screams became more distinct, mingled with the harsh sounds of battle.

Peering through the trees, they were met with a horrifying sight. The village was under attack by a single, blur-fast figure tearing through the crowds with devastating force. Villagers fell left and right, their bodies broken and bloodied.

"What the heck...?" Reggie's words trailed off as he watched the carnage unfold.

Despite their attempts to fight back, the villagers were hopelessly outmatched. It was a massacre, pure and simple.

Then, as quickly as it had begun, the attack seemed to halt. The blur-fast figure stood motionless amid the carnage, a struggling form clutched in its grasp.

Reggie squinted, trying to make out who this attacker was. But before he could get a clear view, his gaze was drawn upwards to the top of a distant hill.

There, silhouetted against the night sky, stood a solitary figure radiating an aura of pure malevolence. Even from this distance, Reggie could feel the power rolling off the being in waves.

"Elena," he hissed, his brothers turning to look where he was staring.

In that moment, realization struck them all. This was Elena's doing, her twisted plan coming to fruition right before their eyes. But so many questions remained unanswered. Why was she on the island to begin with? And why slaughter the very people she had planned to use as her personal blood supply?

As the gravity of the situation sank in, the three brothers knew they couldn't rush headlong into this unknown danger. As much as it pained them to watch the village's destruction, they had no choice but to retreat and regroup for now.

Turning to leave, Reggie cast one last glance up at the hilltop. To his surprise, Elena seemed to be staring directly at them, her eyes blazing like twin rubies in the darkness.

A chill ran down Reggie's spine as their gazes locked for the briefest of moments. Then, in an eyeblink, the three of them dissolved into living shadows and melted away into the night, leaving no trace of their presence.

Elena narrowed her eyes, her lips curling into a snarl of fury. She had sensed them, other vampires daring to trespass on her territory uninvited.

Though they had slipped away before she could identify them, Elena knew one thing for certain - she was not alone on this island anymore. The thought made her blood boil with rage and anticipation.

Her glowing eyes swept over the ruined village, bodies littering the streets like broken dolls. Drake was just finishing up his grisly work, leaving a trail of death and destruction in his wake.

As the screams faded into eerie silence, Elena threw her head back and laughed. A harsh, cruel sound that seemed to mock the very notion of humanity.

"Yes, that's it, Drake!" she called out, her voice dripping with malicious glee. "Leave no one alive! They dared to plot against me, to keep their pitiful secrets. Now they'll learn what it truly means to rouse the wrath of Elena Shelley!"

Right in her very eyes, the village lay in smoldering silence, its streets painted in shades of ruin and despair.
