Chapter 1287 Dragon Force (Part 1)
Evan looked at the blood-red flowers in front of him, blinking in confusion.
"So... you prepared these flowers for your dowry?" He asked, a strange expression crossing his face.
"Yes," Anastasia nodded and explained. "These flowers are called Dragon Blood Flowers. They only grow in places where many dragons have died, and the ground has absorbed a significant amount of their blood."
Evan raised an eyebrow at her words and looked at the flowers again. He could already smell the faint, bloody scent emanating from them ever since Anastasia had taken them out. Now, he finally understood the reason behind it.
"Don't tell me you killed some dragons when you went to the Dragon Islands a few days ago just to grow these flowers?" He suddenly thought of something and asked.
Anastasia rolled her eyes at his assumption and shook her head.
"I didn't do anything like that. In fact, even if I had killed some dragons to grow Dragon Blood Flowers, it would take hundreds or even thousands of years before they could successfully grow." She paused, then added, "These dragons were killed by you when we met for the first time. Back then, I was being chased by them and some people from the Mecrodrois Empire."
Evan was stunned when he heard her and recalled the memory from one of his dreams, where he had seen the moment they first met—when he had killed some powerful dragons and robots like figures from the Mecrodrois Empire.
But another thought suddenly crossed his mind, and he turned to look at Anastasia with a blank expression.
"So, you want to use the flowers that grew because I killed those dragons—which means they are basically mine—for your dowry?"
"What do you mean they are yours?" Anastasia immediately retorted. "Do you think it's easy to grow these flowers? If I hadn't created the perfect environment for them and hidden them in a separate dimension, do you think you would have them now?"
Evan was left speechless at her response and didn't know how to argue back. When he thought about Azroth's personality, he had no doubt that his past self would never have spent time cultivating something like Dragon Blood Flowers.
If anything, Azroth would probably have cooked the dragons for dinner rather than letting their blood seep into the ground to grow flowers.
Seeing his silence, Anastasia nodded in satisfaction and walked behind him.
"Just eat them directly. I will help you refine them to strengthen your body."
"I can eat them directly?" Evan asked, surprised. "Don't we need to turn them into a pill or potion to bring out their maximum effect?"
"Normally, yes," Anastasia admitted. "You would have to make a Dragon Force Pill from these flowers to achieve their full potential. But..." Her aura suddenly shifted, becoming more beast-like as she continued, "Since I am here, I can directly simulate the maximum effect of the Dragon Blood Flowers using my Dragon Progenitor Aura. That way, you can use them as they are."
"Oh..." Evan didn't entirely understand the mechanism behind her ability, but he grasped the essence of what she was saying: she could help him refine the flowers without wasting their potential.
Nodding, he picked up one Dragon Blood Flower.
Without hesitation, he tossed the whole flower into his mouth, chewing it like a sheep and swallowing it in seconds.
'Tastes like pomegranate...' He thought, but before he could reflect further, a terrifying surge of blood energy erupted within him, making his blood boil.
His skin immediately turned bright red, and steam began to rise from his body, giving him the appearance of having magma instead of blood coursing through his veins.
The flowers Anastasia had prepared were grown after absorbing the blood of many Rank Five dragons, so their effects were incredibly potent.
Even with Evan's remarkable endurance—enhanced further by the doubling effect of his Ruler's Authority—he felt as though his skin might burst at any moment.
Without wasting time, he activated one percent of the Rune of Absorption's power. The Rune frantically began devouring the energy of the Dragon Blood Flower, refining it and distributing the processed energy throughout his body.
This process significantly strengthened his internal organs, flesh, bones, blood and other parts of the body.
At the same time, Anastasia placed her hand on his back and channelled an immense amount of dragon force into his body.
The moment her dragon force merged with the energy of the Dragon Blood Flower being refined by the Rune of Absorption, its potency nearly doubled.
Evan was stunned by the dramatic increase in the flower's effects and felt a wave of excitement.
With the Rune of Absorption and Anastasia's dragon force working in tandem, he absorbed the energy of the entire flower in just ten minutes.
When he finished, Evan examined his body carefully and noticed a remarkable improvement—his physical strength had increased by about ten percent. Now, he could withstand attacks from even mid level Rank Three weapons using only his body, without relying on any additional means.
Evan looked down at the pile of flowers in front of him, counting more than fifty Dragon Blood Flowers, and his eyes gleamed with anticipation.
"If I absorb all of these, then my body..." He muttered under his breath before quickly picking up another flower and tossing it into his mouth.
With Anastasia's help, he continued refining one flower after another.
As his body grew stronger, his energy veins were also being reinforced, steadily approaching the level needed to withstand the power of the Rune of Absorption.
After consuming ten flowers, Evan's body had nearly doubled in strength. Confident in his progress, he began consuming two flowers at a time.
In just three hours, he had refined all the flowers. A terrifying aura erupted from his body, shaking the entire training room.
Taking a deep breath, Evan worked to calm his surging aura. Once he had regained control, he opened his status window to assess his progress—and was utterly stunned by the stat points displayed before him.
