Chapter 280

“1 think I’m the lucky one here

“Lila, you were the one who had always been there with me

“You helped me keep my cool and do the right thing when I wi rage and loathing.

me up from the start

so repulsed by the Fowler family that I felt every cell in my body was filled with

“You always support me no matter what I do. You took me into your house, where i could feel wanted and loved as “Lila, you told me that even if the whole world stood against me, you would stand by my side and fight without hesitation. “It’s the same for me *

Jane reached out and patted Lila Sutton’s head.

Her eyes were filled with gentleness.

She would never forget

The day that she decided to cut ties with the Fowler family.

She left the pit of despair and its horde of demons behind.

It was the companionship of Andy and Lila that allowed Jane to get through the excruciating phase of her rebirth. Now, Jane had more people in her life to care for and value.

Her life was about to turn into a bed of flowers, and things were only going to get better with each passing day.

She would no longer have to turn into her once savage and destructive self for the sake of the Fowler family.

“Alright, Janie, let’s not talk about this. It’s so mushy We’re best friends, aren’twe?

“Don’t forget that we’re going to be best friends forever! Cherish this true bond of ours while you can.

a part of the family

“The thing is, I’m worried that you’ll grow to despise me. You’re too brilliant, too strong, and moreover, you’re the world champion, Janie. I’m nothing compared to you…”

While she talked, Lila’s feelings of inferiority grew.

Despite the fact that Lila Sutton had a respectable IQ and qualifications

Yet in light of Jane’s brilliance, any comparison seemed trivial. In the blink of an eye, Lila might well be taken out of the game.

Sometimes, Lila felt that being best friends with someone like Jane was far out of her league

Lila did her best over the years to catch up to Jane’s pace. However, the gap between them would become wider as time went on Ah! This was so frustrating!

Jane responded. “****, I could never despise you, and you will never be able to get rid of a best friend like me even if you try

“However… it’s a little off-putting. It’s a bummer that you aren’t a boy. If you’re a boy, we can start dating right away. We can be sure no one takes advantage of you.”

“Boohoo! Stop talking! I don’t want to hear it! It’s pure damage here, okay?”

Lila was in tears

The fact that she was born a girl rather than a boy was the one thing she blamed her parents for

She could have become Jane’s lover instead of watching other guys woo her closest friend.

Not even Hugh Croft was allowed to do so!

After some lighthearted banter between them, the mood in the room had become noticeably cheery.

Jane then pretended to ask casually, “Lila, when did you become so acquainted with Connor?”

“Well, it does seem that we have become used to one another’s company over time. In any case, it’s because of you that I’ve met Connor quite a few times

“He’s not a bad guy, I can tell, and he’s been quite easy on me. This explains my recent reckless behavior, haha!

“Janie, do you think I’m being too reckless and obstinate with Connor?”

Lila rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment.

“How do you feyf about him?” asked Jane.

“What do I feel? He’s okay”

Lila looked at Jane in confusion. “Janie, why are you asking this all of a sudden?”

“Nothing. I was just asking ”

It seemed that it was far too soon for Jane to fret

It would certainly take too long for Connor and Lila to really feel anything for each other

If they were indeed destined to be together, anything was possible.

It was the case for Jane and Hugh

Who would have thought that the two of them would end up together?

However, Jane, as Lila’s best friend, was obligated to look out for Lila’s lifelong happiness.

This girl could be naive at times. She was unable to think clearly since her mind was in a straight line.

She worried that Connor was just a playboy and that his feelings for Lila would fizzle out quickly. Once he had his fun with Lila, he’d toss her

aside like a rag doll, breaking Lila’s heart in the process.

If this were the case, Jane would never let Connor off the hook!

Knock! Knock!
