Chapter 2059: Extra - Dishonourable Death

Chapter 2059: Extra - Dishonourable Death

"What do you think it's behind all that barrier?" One of the warriors from Pal asked as he yawned being stationed at the west of Ress.

"I don't know and I also do not believe that the things our kingdom said are actually true. Like come on, the sacrificing of people to make items? That is a little absurd. Surely the entire kingdom would oppose such tyrannical behaviours."

"I think so too but-" Before the warrior could say anything else, an explosion ensued right beside them killing his teammate, seeing him exploding into piles of flesh. And before he could see what had killed him, the act of merely looking upward was the last scene he could ever see in this lifetime.

But unbeknownst to the people who initiated the explosions, this particular warrior was still living and breathing, for he had learned some magic before hand, enabling him to cast a mana shield along side with his standard issue armour. As luck would have it, he too was able at the corner of both explosions, along with him to still survive despite the major injuries that he had incurred.

"What in the world... had happened...?" He was still in a daze but his mind was now instinctively occupied with the thoughts of mending those wounds before the adrenaline in him wore off.

Only once he was done fixing his wounds, he attempt to search for any survivors. He did not know what exactly he had gone through but this was a magic explosion, he was very sure of it. The warrior could feel the traces of the magic that was searing his skin even though he had mended the injuries from it.

And even though he was afraid that the wound might open again because of this residue magic that was burning the surroundings, he was even more concerned about his dear friends and comrades. The warrior honestly hoped that he was not the only person left alive.

"Bean! Stay awake!" The Warrior shouted as he saw his comrade still hanging onto his life. He knew that he was not able to rescue him any further as well considering that all that was left of Bean was the upper half of his torso.

"Har. You ass hole. You told me that this is an easy assignment to go for." Bean coughed as his visions got even more blurry. He too knew that his time was going to be up.

"You fucker, what am I going to do to tell your wife and daughter?" The warrior cried as he held onto his friend's shoulders, not knowing what to do. His strength was waning as well but there was nothing much he could do too.

At that point, he felt an immense strong amount of aura coming towards his direction. It was not just one particular aura but a few of them. The Warrior knew that there was no way he could defeat such a group so he attempted to move himself to a rock that was still burning. But getting burnt was better than getting killed, the fire near the rock should be able to cover him as they come by.

And so they did.

The warrior never felt so scared in his life that he now hugged Bean's dead body so tired in hopes that they would not discover him at all. That he was part of the dead corpses. However, at that moment, it felt as if someone flying had managed to spot him from afar and it felt like he gave him the side wink. Find adventures at mvl

Yet, the warrior of Pal decided not to move a muscle or an inch and pretended that he had died with his eyes open. But it seems like a chance was not given to him. To make matters worse, the people in black halted for a moment and scanned the area.

They even shot projectiles while holding onto wands that were not long enough to be a staff. And yet it made noises that could scare deers a million miles away. It was as if they were not giving chances and were shooting at the corpses to ensure that they were dead.

The person who winked at the warrior also shot toward him but he missed. Still, that was up to debate whether he genuinely missed or it was a purpose shot to frighten the 'dead'. But what the warrior knew was that if he ever made a single twitch in his movement, he would definitely die.

The person in black camo smiled a little and eventually the rest moved southwards. The warrior thought that this was the end of it all and finally let out a breath of relief since he was holding back the pain from the wounds he had inflicted previously. Perhaps, he was too tense that he held on to his dead friend's corpse until his injuries were opened.

"Who are those people?! How are they flying with such ease and those wands are definitely not the kind that a normal mage would use!" The warrior thought that he had a lucky break and gained information that might be crucial for his kingdom to learn. "First, I must make sure my wounds are closed or else I do not have the strength to move to report this information.

For the sake of all my friends and comrades that had died from this… I will not let your sacrifice be in vain." He said to himself as he once more attempted to mend his wounds.

It was only then he heard something unusual once more. His heart beat fast as he looked northwards where the sounds were coming and the warrior could not believe his eyes. Now he understood why the man in black had decided to let him live. It was not because his shot was sloppy but because he was gifting the warrior a bigger present.

A present that no one had ever seen in their lives.

A Horde of terrifying human eating Demons.

"Oh God…Give me-" His head was swiped off and a couple of Demonic Hyenas were already feasting on his bloody body.
