Chapter 317 - New Identity

Chapter 317 - New Identity

Chapter 317: New Identity

“Who said I’m Xie Lianzhen most of the time?”

“Are you not?” Lu Mingshu looked at him in shock.

“Of course not.” Yan Wugui laughed.

“But...” Lu Mingshu couldn’t seem to process what she heard.

“After fifteen, I’m mostly the one appearing.” Yan Wugui seemed solemn. “Why would someone who hates himself stay in control for such a long time?”

Lu Mingshu bit her lips and said nothing more.

“Why? Can’t bear to see him in such a situation?” Yan Wugui leaned in, smirking.

Lu Mingshu rolled her eyes and glared at him.

“Chill! I’m just joking!” Yan Wugui chuckled. “But I can sense that this is the first time he likes a person so much.”

“...” It was weird to hear from someone about how much Xie Lianzhen liked her, especially when it was Yan Wugui telling her.

“And to be very honest, we are the same. We may hate each other, but I can feel what he is feeling, and we feel the same.”

Lu Mingshu stared at him blankly. What does that mean?

But Yan Wugui ignored her questioning look and continued to examine the seal on Ji Xulin. “Oh, so when one makes uses of the seal, it would light up. Maybe I should do something to it....”

Later that night, a group of men were sent down to the town to look for Ji Xulin.

The clerk told them that there was a gentleman that fit their description in their inn. With that, the group of men went up, but they came back empty-handed.

They searched the whole city, but they were unable to find their young master.

“Boo hoo....” A girl stood at the city gate, wailing. “Where are you, Elder Brother?”

Suddenly, she felt her seal heating up. The girl looked up in shock and started searching frantically. “Elder Brother, where are you?”

It led her all the way to a run-down house. The girl ran in, and what she saw next was her brother lying on the floor, stripped. “Elder Brother...?” she uttered.

She blinked her eyes twice. When she realized what she was looking at, she hurried over. “Brother!” Was he robbed or even raped?

Suddenly, she couldn’t feel her body, and her vision was blurred.

“Who are you?” She heard somebody asking.

“My name is Ji Zhenzhen....”

...

Both of them came out of their hiding place.

“What is this trick that you used? It’s terrific!” Yan Wugui looked at her in awe.

“Same as the Dream Messenger that you use.” Lu Mingshu glanced at him. It was just normal hypnotizing. It wasn’t useful against Ji Xulin since he had the same cultivation as them, so he could resist it, but it was different for Ji Zhenzhen. She had lower cultivation, thus she was unable to resist the spell.

“Good. Now we know about them, so it will be easy for us to borrow their identities.”

The both of them cleared the place and took Ji Zhenzhen’s and Ji Xulin’s valuables, making it look like a robbery.

“Hey! What are you doing now?” Lu Mingshu snapped when she saw Yan Wugui stuffing something in Ji Xulin’s mouth.

“Giving him something good, obviously.” Yan Wugui grinned, forcing the pills down Ji Xulin’s throat violently. “I’m unhappy with how he looks.”

“...” Lu Mingshu stared at him.

Yan Wugui and Xie Lianzhen were perhaps as different as night and day, but there was no doubt that they were both extremely petty and sought revenge for even the smallest grievance.

Whatever, time’s precious, so we should go. If Ji Zhenzhen was able to find this place, others might be able too.

Not after long, the Ji Family men found Ji Zhenzhen and Ji Xulin. When Ji Zhenzhen woke up, she couldn’t seem to remember what happened after she found her brother.

However, Ji Xulin was aware of what happened. He knew that he was robbed, but he didn’t know the reason. He knew that his soul energy had been frozen as if he was poisoned.

In no time, the three big aristocratic families got in a big fight since the Ji Family put the blame on the Lu Family and the Zheng Family. (note: different from Lu Mingshu’s “Lu.”)

Obviously, the Ji Family played a part in the accident that Lu Shiheng and Zheng Cai encountered. Now, even Ji Xulin had met with a mishap, and Bell Woods would not be able to send in anyone for the Sea of Cloud’s competition. The three families placed the blame on one another, creating an irreconcilable feud.

Meanwhile, the main culprits had already escaped secretly to some unknown location.

“Sea of Cloud’s debate? Interesting!” Yan Wugui bobbed his head, humming to a song. “Shall we go and take a look? Their cultivation method is interesting.”

Lu Mingshu nodded in agreement. She had thought about this too. Her points left were as empty as anything, so if she wanted to earn more, she’d have to do something about it. Accumulating a hundred points with just the passage of time would take forever, and she couldn’t find a task on the forum suitable for her to complete. The easiest way would be to have some interaction with the world, like what she did during the Qilin Festival.

Now that Yan Wugui suggested it, it spared her from thinking about how to bring it up to him.

“Do you want to join?” She tapped her portable stable, which was followed by a neigh, and Little Daze appeared in front of them.

Yan Wugui was about to speak, but when he saw Little Daze, his eyes widened in shock. “That...”

“I found it at Jade West Mountain Forest.”

“...” Yan Wugui rubbed his forehead. “Oh, that! It’s such a shame that I couldn’t tell it was a Snow Winged Cloud-Treading Horse’s foal!”

Lu Mingshu nodded her head. Little Daze being a Snow Winged Cloud-Treading Horse’s foal was something she somehow expected.

Little Daze neighed and proudly stared at Yan Wugui as if taunting Yan Wugui for not knowing what it was.

But Yan Wugui kind of liked it. He went forward to caress it, not minding Little Daze’s resistance. He touched its small, fleshy wings and laughed. “Are you sure you are able to fly? You have such small wings!”

Little Daze neighed loudly, protesting.

Who says small wings will not allow one to fly? They’re just there for balancing purposes.

“Small body but big temper, just like your master.” Yan Wugui rubbed its fur.

Little Daze got mad and kicked him with its hoof.

“Big temper indeed!”

“That’s enough!” Lu Mingshu stopped them, glancing at Yan Wugui. “Little Daze is still young, stop disturbing it.”

“Fine.” Yan Wugui stopped his action and summoned his own mount. “Let’s go learn more about whatever cloud debate now.”

Bearing the Ji Family’s seal on their faces, drawn with special material, the journey was smooth, without anyone calling them out for their fake seal.

With that, they reached Yunjing successfully.

It was a huge city in the middle of a grassland. No matter how powerful one was, everyone lined up outside the city gate, waiting patiently for their turn to get in.

Lu Mingshu and Yan Wugui joined the queue too. They paid a fixed amount of Soul Pearls.

“Name?”

“Ji Xulin.”

“Ji Zhenzhen.”

“From?”

“Bell Woods.”

“Reason to be here?”

“To take part in the Sea of Cloud’s debate.”

The officer took down their information and gave each an entry pass, signaling for them to go in.

Fortunately, the world wasn’t very developed; they didn’t have any image identification, so Lu Mingshu and Yan Wugui could successfully sneak in.

“Such a beautiful place!” Yan Wugui was awed, unable to take his eyes away from the city. “Little sister, where now?”

“A place to stay,” Lu Mingshu answered in monotone.

What else? Stay on the streets?
