Chapter 400: Destar

Chapter 400: Destar

After having taken care of the problem called Cedric, his father and family looked at Shane with a faint smile, while Cedric’s father and grandfather stormed towards him.

Shane had long since pulled the young man towards him to prevent him from falling after loosening his grasp around his clothes.

Now that everything was sorted, he looked at his family before he cleared his throat,

“I will have to prepare everything for the conquests. Conquering 10 shelters in 90 days will be extremely stressful, so please only message me if it’s extremely important.”

In the end, Shane had to include the travel time to the first shelter and subsequent ones that would take a major chunk.

Even if he would only take a week, this means that he required a travel time of 70 days!

As such, he could only put aside a total of two days for every shelter to be fully conquered.

This was definitely not much, and Shane figured out that early preparations will be best.

His family just bid him farewell, knowing that it would be extremely arduous to finish the given mission in time.

Once he left the building, Shane instructed the 1000 members of the Starlight guild who had reached a mana purity of and above [90%] to prepare themselves to conquer a few highly fortified shelters.

This astonished them, but when they sensed Shane’s confidence, they couldn’t help but feel excited to do something they had never done before.

At the same time, conquering the shelters of their enemies was something they had wanted to do for a long time!

Mankind had always held back from attacking the opponents that were evidently too much for them to handle.

This included almost every single race whose heritage within the Primordial dimensions was a millennia longer than theirs.

In the end, the human race was a passive race that would just remember the deeds others had done to return the favor once they had become stronger.

Because of that many emotions had been deep-rooted within everyone and the Starlight guild members who had been chosen were excited to take the first step towards exacting revenge.

In the next 24 hours, Shane sent out several thousand scouts in small groups to scout the radiant mountain ring dimension for the Miac alliance and the shelters.

He had asked them to report to him the shelters that were likely to withstand and successfully deflect beast-tides with three Overlords or more, if these shelters ever had the misfortune of getting attacked by said beast-tides.

This would help him later, and nobody would be able to find out their identities as he had given them a concealment robe at the [Tier-2 (Extraordinary)] grade, in addition, to sound-altering masks, which would hide every possible clue.

Meanwhile, Shane had also purchased the concealment robes for the Elite group with which he would conquer the shelters in addition to [Tier-2 (Extraordinary)] grade masks that had several different effects in addition to altering their voice.

Other than that, he improved their equipment, and even told the blacksmiths, who had the 10 pseudo-legendary weapon blueprints, to forge the next batches for the Conquerors.

Shane had already handed out the rest and entered the Radiant mountain ring dimension without wasting more time.

He was already wearing his robe and Myr, the Mask of the Cursed Susurro, which he would slowly strengthen during the journey from one shelter to another.

Taking a step outside the shelter, Shane quickly summoned Umbra before they set off towards the Destar race’s shelter he had already been to before.

It was time to take the first step of revenge!

Fortunately, the Destar race had upgraded their shelter’s defenses, otherwise, Shane would have been forced to gamble in the hope that their shelter was strong enough to be included in his [Mythic] mission!

**

After five days they had finally arrived in front of the first manual mana frequency detection complex that couldn’t be called anything but ugly.

Out of those five days, Umbra had slithered for two days in his fastest speed, only for Shane to continue running for another day and a half before Umbra had returned from a short rest in the Hidden Paradise.

Because Shane’s recollection of the weird totem-like constructions was good enough, he had stopped before nearing them

He had then taken out a small device that was called [Mana frequency distortion dome] which he immediately activated.

After that a faint dome manifested around Shane, preventing anyone from spotting him on a mana radar.

Unfortunately, it was not large enough to completely conceal Umbra which forced Shane to walk towards the shelter all by himself.

However, this was not a problem and rather advantageous because Umbra was large enough to attract attention from far away.

It had grown dark and was late at night, and Shane couldn’t help but smile as he activated the new skill he had obtained from the Mask of the Cursed Susurro after it had reached the [Uncommon] quality.

The skill he was talking about was [Night vision], which allowed him to see in the dark.

With its quality increase, the mask’s effects and abilities were consistently growing, which was visible on the enhancements. the blessing and innate taming skill received.

It had jumped from [0.1%] to [0.4%] with two upgrades in its quality!

When Shane could finally see better, he rushed towards the Shelter by fully utilizing his [Light steps] movement technique.

Even if someone were to see him, or the dimly glowing dome after a while, they would need some time to realize that he might be someone dangerous and not one of their own, let alone that he wanted to attack the shelter all by himself.

In that time, Shane would have already emerged in front of the shelter walls.

However, contrary to his expectation, nearing the shelter wall turned out to be a cakewalk because neither was he spotted by any guards nor had he caused a commotion.

This was interesting and even better than he could have expected.

As such, he took out a grappling hook he had purchased earlier before he threw it towards the shelter’s walls.

Unfortunately, his first two tries to fling it over the shelter wall and anchor the hook failed, and Shane could only lament under his breath.

‘Why did I learn everything but use a grappling hook in my childhood?!’

Smiling lightly as it finally worked on the third try, Shane could only wonder what kind of solutions he could come up with to make a detour from the spatial distortion zones that were placed in almost every single thoroughly defended shelter.

Unfortunately, Shane had purchased an expensive mana frequency distortion dome that hid only him from the mana radar, which was already more than enough!

Thus, once he had reached the top of the shelter walls, he couldn’t help but smile brightly through the Mask of the Cursed Susurro.

“Everyone can come out!” Shane mumbled before he opened his Hidden Paradise’s portal.

Initially, Shane had estimated that the Hidden Paradise’s portal would count as a spatial portal that would be restricted by the spatial distortion zone.

However, as a matter of fact, the Hidden Paradise and Shane were deemed a single entity!

This would mean that opening the soul bound world’s portal was equivalent to taking something out of his spatial ring which was still possible after space was restricted!

As such, in a matter of minutes, a total of thousand disguised elite combatants emerged outside Shane through the Hidden Paradise. Everyone could now see in the darkness owing to the mask he had purchased.

“Let’s go, we have no time to waste!!”
