Chapter 457: Evil?

Chapter 457: Evil?

Chapter 457: Evil?

Shane was not sure how to properly answer the question about his soul world’s safety.

Not only would his soul world be destroyed with his death, but there could also be accidents and intentional attacks from those who couldn’t enter the soul world.

It may be unlikely for other humans to attack the soul world, but it was definitely not possible to leave out the possibility.

Because of this, Shane decided that it was best to be straightforward, and tell nothing but the truth.

“To be honest, I cannot promise anything about my soul world’s safety, but I’m giving you guys a chance to survive right now.

Even if I wouldn’t devour the secret realm, what would happen to it? The entire secret realm would be burned down, or if it was possible to somehow fight back against the fire spirits, all of you would have been forced to stay inside the secret realm, forever.

Now that I’m here, I give all of you the chance to leave the secret realm or be devoured by me.

I am not a Saint, and if I need something to give my race a better chance to survive the next few months, I’m sorry to say this, but I’ll rather turn into an evil person!”

In the end, it was as exactly as he said. He was not sure if it was mandatory to devour the silver soul world core, but if they were to take Levi and Lili with them, they would occupy a large space in the soul world.

As such, the size of his current soul world would definitely fall short for each human to reside in.

In conclusion, this meant it was necessary for him to devour the silver soul world core in order to enlarge the Hidden Paradise to make it possible for every human to safely enter and inhabit it.

There were all kinds of dangers they had to pay attention to, and Shane felt that it may be necessary to use the wish he had received from the Creator.

He couldn’t quite put a finger on the reason he felt like that because the planet his father, uncles and aunts found was only known to them and well suited for them to colonise, but something made him feel uncomfortable.

Thus, in order to give his own race the best survival chance, Shane wouldn’t hold back to become evil.

It was selfish, and he was fully aware of this, but what was he supposed to do? Let millions of people die, just because a few hundred treants denied leaving the secret realm?

Shane was giving them the chance to inhabit his soul world, and even to live somewhere else after he had devoured the silver soul world core.

Moreover, he would even help them to look for a different planet if they didn’t like the Hidden Paradise.

However, this could only happen once he had solved his own and mankind’s problems that seemed to be never-ending.

Because Shane didn’t want to do whatever he felt like without giving others a chance, he told the old treant everything neatly without holding back.

This made everything a lot easier for him, yet more burdensome for the old treant as it released a complex set of emotions within its mana fluctuations.

It was as if the treant was sighing deeply as it replied,

“I will talk to my brethren about it…It would have been much easier had you been an evil person, then we could at least fight for our lives…but it’s not like your reasoning makes no sense. Who knows what might have happened if you would have never entered the secret realm?

Maybe all of us would already be dead, or there might never be anyone arriving in the secret realm, neither in a few years nor several thousand…just how would that be for us?”

Shane didn’t say anything afterward because the questions were not directed at him, but more of the old treant’s musings.

While standing around quietly, the old treant approached the group of treants that looked at him sadly.

Without hesitation, the old treant explained Shane’s proposal to them neatly. This took quite a while, and Shane was paying attention to other things in the meantime.

Amongst these things, Shane wanted to know whether Levi was still with Talia.

This was the case, and he quickly asked Talia to ask Levi if she could see herself colonising another planet with them.

[I don’t know if she is aware of the entire situation Igra and mankind are facing right now. Just explain it to her if necessary, and say that we want to bring her and Lili to the planet we want to colonise.

We can bring her to the ocean once we have established a small basic foundation of a city. This should be understandable for Levi, and it shouldn’t enrage her too much.

If you say that it was my idea, she will, in the worst-case scenario, just be angry at me!]

Shane had the means to talk to Levi directly instead of detours, but that would only make everything more complex which was not required right now.

So far the easiest way to communicate was through the usage of a large-distance communication crystal which was, unfortunately, something mankind had yet to invent.

The runes, materials, and knowledge one required to construct them were already profound and expensive to acquire which made the final product even more expensive in the Primordial shop.

As such, mankind could only marvel at the large-distance communication crystals that could even establish a link between dimensions, while trying to procure the necessary blueprints and knowledge to produce everything by themselves.

Once the System were to be destroyed, communicating would become much more difficult, and common crystal wouldn’t be enough to replace the system messenger’s superiority.

Thus, Shane decided that he would talk to Levi later, once he had solved the issues concerning the secret realm, including the devouring process of the silver soul world core.

Shane was not exactly sure how long it took the treants to make their final decision, but it was the deamon spatial treant who had brought him into the secret realm that approached him.

“If possible I would like to see how the place we will be brought to looks like.”

This was something Shane had expected, and he didn’t hide the fact that the Hidden Paradise had yet to flourish, which was obvious owing to the lands that were mostly barren.

“That is no problem, but don’t expect too much. My world is still in its initial developing phase and thus is not exactly flourishing with verdant grass or large trees.

Later, we will procure a world tree seedling and several hundred magi tree seedlings to change this, but that will only happen after my world has devoured the secret realm!”

Shane’s words caused a commotion in the treants as their mana fluctuations rippled violently.

This caused Shane to be confused for a moment, only to recall something which almost made him slap his forehead as he heard the old treant speak.

“Did you just say world tree? You have the ability to procure something as miraculous as a world tree seedling???”

The old treant’s voice was shaking, but Shane just nodded his head, hiding his smile as he summoned a portal leading to the Hidden Paradise.

Everything seemed to work perfectly fine and Shane’s lips curled into a faint smile as he said,

“You can take a look at my world, but there is not exactly much to look at.”
