“Okay, I understand everything. You don’t have to explain it to me for him.”

Kelvin got desperate. “You really misunderstood him. Be it the prison fire or the Jensen thing, you misunderstood him.”

Kisa nodded. “I know he didn’t do any of those.”

Kelvin was stunned. “You know?”

Kisa nodded. “That’s why you don’t have to say all that. I really understand everything.”

Kelvin glanced at her calm face skeptically. “If you understand, then why are you still so cold to him?”

Kisa thought for a second and suddenly laughed. “We had a fight, just like you thought.”

Kelvin looked at her in bewilderment, somewhat confused by what she said.

Kisa felt sleepy, so she drove him out. “Don’t be afraid if you have a nightmare at night. Just tell yourself in your mind that ‘it is just a dream, just a dream”.”

Kelvin rolled his eyes, as there was no way he was not afraid. He was still anxious when he thought of that ghastly nightmare.

Davian and Felicity were both drunk in Club Enigma, and the music in the room was deafening. Felicity collapsed on the couch, eyes closed, but could still sing along with a few lines. Davian collapsed next to her, completely blacked out.

A man was sitting in a dark corner. He was dressed in a black shirt and black pants, like Hades, the ruler of darkness. He gently swirled a glass of red wine in his hand, and the dark shade of red that was

reflected in his eyes made them blood-red. He stared at the glass for a long time, and suddenly sneered, his expression cold. ‘That woman’s heart is cold and hard, like a rock. I can never change her.’

“He hurt me, and he hurt the person who treated me the best. I hate him. I hate him to death.” Kisa’s words echoed in his mind. He thought she might still be upset with him, but he never thought that she still hated him so much that she wanted him dead. Because he had nowhere to vent his grief and anger, he gripped the stem of the goblet harder with his fingers and it broke in his hand. The broken glass pierced his palm, and he bled profusely. He stared blankly at the crimson-red blood on his palm, and surprisingly, did not feel any pain. He laughed in a strange and maniacal way. A long while later, he closed his hand, and the blood dripped down to the floor like a stream.

Gilbert had drunk a lot tonight and ended up becoming disoriented. He stumbled out of the corner with a chillingly grim smile. He did not look at Davian and Felicity but walked straight toward the door. He wanted to see her and ask her if she had a heart and what else they could do for the rest of their lives- to keep on hating each other or there was a slight chance of reconciliation.

He suddenly covered his face, as something warm spilled out of his eyes. he leaned against the wall in silence as he felt a lump in his throat. After a long, long while, when he finally removed his hand covering his face, his eyes were already red.

He turned around, pulled open the door, but in the next moment, he bumped into a soft embrace, which smelled familiar – a long-ago familiarity. He raised his head tipsily and looked at a nearly unknown face in front of him, unable to remember where that familiarity came from.

“No, Gilbert…”

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I was wrong…”

“No!”

Kisa jerked out of her nightmare and sat up in bed, frozen still in the darkness.
