Mrs. Mullen Sr. and Arthur were more worried about Kisa; they kept looking toward the stairs, hoping that Kelvin would show up. Mr. Mullen Sr. was on the sofa smoking a cigarette without a word.

“Shouldn’t you be happy that you were allowed to see this place?” Lydia laughed sarcastically. Carrie gave her a sideways glance but did not argue with her.

“Yeah, grandpa Why isn’t Dr. Hoover here yet? He should be here by now. Maybe we should send a bodyguard to take a look,” said Arthur.

“Arthur is right. Let’s have someone take a look,” Mrs. Mullen Sr. added. “She was still yelling a minute ago, but it’s completely silent now. I’m not sure if she’s okay. There’s nothing to be afraid of the Kooper family, but this happened on our grounds. We won’t be able to escape the blame if Mr. Kooper asks.”
