Chapter 1013 You Have Your Guard Up Against Me

Kisa smiled, “I’m afraid not. I might be able to handle some other matters, but I’m afraid I’m not authorized to sign anything. Even if I did, it probably wouldn’t be valid.”

“It won’t. Mr. Kooper said before that your signature would be considered valid. After all, you’re his wife, the closest person to him. Even Mr. Davian can sign on his behalf, so why can’t you?”

When Shaun brought this up, Kisa felt a little self-deprecated.

‘So, I’m really no better than Davian in that man’s heart.’

“Ma’am, please don’t hesitate. Just help me sign this. I just arrived at GK, and I really want to leave a good impression on Mr. Kooper. I really can’t lose this business.”

Shaun looked as though he was about to go down on his knees for her, looking extremely anxious.

Remembering that Shaun was Jensen’s special assistant and was loyal to Jensen, she said, “Alright, then. Let me have a look at the documents first.”

“You don’t have to be overly thorough about it. Mr. Kooper had already seen it before, and this version is a revised version.”

As Shaun said that, he handed the documents to Kisa.

Kisa looked at the document and asked, “So, you’re saying that Gilbert also knows about this collaboration?”

“Yes,” Shaun nodded and urged her, “Please sign it now, Ma’am.”

Shaun was urging her intently, so Kisa could not read the documents page by page. and just look through the more pertinent parts.

‘Risen Enterprise?

‘I’ve never heard of this company before. It must be a new one.’

After going through a few important clauses and she found that there was no problem, Kisa signed her name on the document.

As she was done signing, she looked at Shaun. “Don’t celebrate too early. My signature may not be valid.”

“Let’s just give it a try first. Thank you, Ma’am.” Shaun’s eyes suddenly became sorrowful as he said that. “It looks like you are still hanging onto your relationship with Sir. Otherwise, you wouldn’t help me like this.”

“What are you saying? You’re Jensen’s people, so that means you’re my people, too. It’s natural for me to help you.”

Shaun took a deep breath, and his eyes looked even more sorrowful. “If only Sir is

still around.”

The very mention of Jensen pricked at Kisa’s heart.

She bit her lips and said, “Jensen will wake up. I believe he will!”

Shaun looked at her, and a dark light flashed across his eyes.

The lounge was very quiet and well air-conditioned. Kisa lay on the sofa and read a magazine and very quickly found herself sleepy.

She looked at the time, and it was not even four o’clock. So, she decided to close her

eyes and take a nap.

In her sleep, she faintly felt that someone was looking at her.

She frowned a little and opened her eyes with much effort, and what greeted her was

Gilbert’s handsome face.

“Is it six already?”

Kisa muttered. She had not fully woken up yet, so her voice was soft and waxy,

which was pleasing to the ears.

Gilbert was still mad at her since yesterday, but seeing her soft and obedient manner, his anger disappeared altogether.

He then put his coat over her.

Kisa hugged the coat as she got up and rubbed her eyes as she asked, “You’re done with the meeting?”

“Yeah. Why didn’t you wait for me in my office? If my secretary didn’t tell me you were waiting for me here, I wouldn’t have known.”

Kisa chuckled. “Your secretary didn’t allow me to go in.”

Gilbert’s expression suddenly turned gloomy. “I’ll fire right away.”

“Hey, come back!” Kisa pulled him back and said, “She didn’t do anything wrong. She was just following your orders. Rather than her, who didn’t allow me to enter, it was you who didn’t allow me to enter.”

As Kisa said that, she looked him in the eyes and deliberately smiled. “You have your guard up against me.”
