Chapter 1102 You Must Sleep in A Separate Room

“What a temper! I just chided you a little this morning, and you ran away from home.” It was Madalyn. She was coming down from upstairs with George’s help.

“Grandma, she just came back. Please let her eat something first, okay?” Gilbert said with a frown.

Madalyn grunted and wanted to say something more but had to choke back her displeasure because she was worried that her great-grandson might be starving. She shot a glance at Kisa and then looked at Gilbert. “You are to move back to your original room and not sleep with her for the next few months.”

“No. I know what I’m doing.”

“You don’t know what you are doing. You are as desperate as hell every time you are with her.”

Pfft!

George and a few maids close by covered their mouths to suppress their laughter. Kisa hung her head in embarrassment, as Madalyn was just too blunt.

Gilbert’s face darkened. “Grandma, can you please let

save some face?”

“No. Your face is not as important as my precious great-grandson. I don’t care. You will sleep in a separate room for the next few months.”

It seemed that Madalyn really treasured this ‘baby’ in her womb. Kisa subconsciously touched her flat belly, thinking that when Madalyn found out she was not pregnant at all, she would probably be so mad that she would kill her. ‘Who cares since this was all Gilbert’s idea.’

At night, Gilbert had no choice but to move back into his own room at Madalyn’s insistence. He was now leaning against the door and reluctantly said, “If I had known, I wouldn’t have let you fake your pregnancy.”

Kisa leaned against the headboard and said to him absently, “You can go tell your grandmother right now. She will surely listen to you.”

“That’s not okay. I still want her to dote on you.”

Kisa looked at him and seriously said, “She is doting on this non-existent baby in my belly.”

“That’s roughly the same. It’s better than back then when you two were at war with each other.”

“But, sooner or later, this lie will come apart as months go by.”

Gilbert smiled at her flirtatiously. “Don’t worry. I will ‘work harder’.”

Kisa understood what he meant. She looked away, not bothering to respond.

Gilbert smiled and gently said, “Get a good night’s rest. I’m going to my room now.”

Kisa hummed and then pulled the quilt over her body and lay down, not even sparing a glance at Gilbert.

Gilbert chuckled and thoughtfully closed the door for her. As soon as he left, Kisa turned off the lights in the room. She thought it would be easy to fall asleep after a long day, but somehow, she tossed and turned in bed for a long time, unable to sleep. She picked up her phone and was about to surf the Internet when a call came in. When she saw the name Shaun on the screen, she involuntarily frowned. If it was not for Jensen, she would have never bothered to take his call because he had set her up before.

The call went through, and Kisa asked in a faint voice, “It’s late now. What do you want?” While answering the phone, she even checked the time-it was almost 11.00 pm.

Shaun sounded a little urgent. “Can you come out for a moment, Mrs. Kooper?”

Kisa furrowed her brow and said, “No. It’s very late now.”

“I have something very important to tell you. Please come over for a moment.”

“If there is anything, you can say it on the phone.”

“It’s about my boss. He is showing signs of waking up.”
