Before Kisa could say anything else, Gilbert had already stridden outside. So, she choked back her words and grimaced. ‘Didn’t he say he wouldn’t complain? Now what? He is filled with resentment,’ she said in her mind.

“Hmph, I thought you wouldn’t come down for dinner,” Madalyn snorted in resentment as soon as Gilbert came down the stairs. “Is that woman crippled or what? She needs you to bring the meal up to her? She is so pretentious.”
