‘She’s pregnant. If she falls down, the consequences would be unthinkable,‘ thought Gilbert. Kisa was terrified as she laid in his arms.

She could clearly feel he was nervous and frightened. She could not help but freeze for a moment.

‘I was the one who almost fell. Why do I feel like he’s even more nervous and frightened than I am?‘

“Walk properly in the future. Why were you so panicked? No one was chasing after you!”

Just as she was having an inner thought, she could suddenly hear Gilbert’s scolding voices from above her head.

Kisa raised her eyes to look at him. She sincerely thanked him, “Thank you.”

Gilbert did not speak. He just helped her to walk downstairs.

“Mr. Kooper, Ms. Becker, you guys came down.”

As soon as they came downstairs, Cora Packer greeted them.

Gilbert nodded as he asked, “Is lunch ready?”

“It’s ready. Ms. Jennings specifically ordered us not to go upstairs and disturb the two of you. She asked us to get the food ready as well so that you two can eat right away after coming downstairs.”

“Mr. Kooper, do you two want to eat in the yard or inside the house?”

Gilbert subconsciously looked at Kisa.

Kisa glanced at the great view in the yard as she said, “We’ll eat in the yard.”

“Sure.”

Cora said. She then asked the maid to serve the food.

Gilbert brought Kisa to the yard.

They sat at the wooden table under the big tree.

A gust of breeze blew at them. It was so comfortable that it could make people fall asleep.

Gilbert stared unwaveringly at Kisa. His eyes were glowing a little.

He then turned away when Kisa looked at him. He acted as if he was careless.

Kisa pursed her lips as she asked, “Where did you go in the morning? Did you go and get

“I bought presents for him long ago. I even helped you to buy a present for him,” Gilbert faintly said.

Kisa smiled, “Thank you.”

She then asked again, “So, what have you been doing in the morning?”

The maid served them the food. Gilbert lowered his head to pick up the food as he said in a muffled voice, “I went to buy a handphone.”

“Your phone is broken?”

Kisa subconsciously asked.

She did not mean to ask so many questions. But she felt that the atmosphere was a little depressing if they did not talk while sitting together. novelbin

His voice was even duller.

Kisa glanced at him. She noticed he looked unhappy, so she did not press the topic any further.

She then ladled a bowl of soup. While she was drinking it, Gilbert suddenly coldly said to her, “If you lie to me again in the future, it won’t just be a phone that I break.”

“You… Ahem… Did you mean you were so angry that you broke your phone because I lied to you?”

Gilbert remained silent. He merely put his head down to eat the food, but Kisa understood that the action meant he implicitly admitted it.

Kisa was speechless. ‘He’s so violent. He just simply breaks things. That phone cost him more than ten thousand bucks, and he just started using it not too long ago. What a waste!‘ Kisa thought to herself. But she did not dare to voice out her inner thoughts and piss him off.

“Hey, why are you guys being so quiet when you eat? If I didn’t know you, I’d assume you two are strangers.”

Just then, Felicity’s laughter could suddenly be heard.

Kisa subconsciously looked at her. She then saw Felicity walking toward them from the house wearing a silk nightgown.

Felicity’s face was still flushed. She seemed quite happy.

Her hair was still wet. She seemed to have just finished showering.

When Kisa thought of the sound she heard in the corridor, she unconsciously blushed. She awkwardly smiled as she asked, “Have you eaten?”

“I haven’t,” Felicity replied, sitting down next to her.

She noticed Kisa’s face was red. Confused, she asked, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling hot? Why’s your face so red?”
