Reborn Through Fire By Kazuya Higan Chapter 1219

Chapter 1219 Mrs. Mullen Sr.

“What’s with all the ruckus?! What do you take the Mullen residence for? A market?”

Kisa turned to the source of the voice.

She saw an old woman with an air of refinement walk toward them.

The old woman had gray hairs but a healthy complexion.

She wore a floral-patterned evening gown. She also had light makeup on her face, a pearl necklace on her neck, and a diamond ring on her finger.

She looked incredibly regal.

Next to the old woman was a slightly younger woman who was supporting her.

That woman also dressed decently. Even though she was getting on in years, one could tell that she used to be a beauty in her younger years from her eyes.

However, in terms of elegance, the woman was still miles away compared to the old

woman.

This was because her gaze constantly shifted as if she lacked confidence.

While Kisa observed them, the old woman and the lady helping her had already walked

over.

“What’s going on? What do you take the Mullen residence for?”

The old woman asked in a stern voice as she watched the scene in front of her.

The moment the old woman spoke, she exuded a suffocating presence.

Kisa peered at her for a moment.

‘Don’t tell me she’s Mr. Mullen Sr.’s first wife-Mrs. Mullen Sr.?’ she thought.

While she was deep in thought, Ms. Reyes suddenly dashed up to the old woman and cried. aggrievedly, “Mrs. Mullen Sr., a lowly barmaid from a bar has stolen my diamond necklace. Just as I was about to teach her a lesson, a lowlier woman suddenly appeared. She slapped me and kicked me. Please help me set things straight!”

“A barmaid from a bar?” the old woman instantly frowned. Then, she asked in a low voice, This is the Mullen family’s banquet. How could a barmaid from a bar sneak in? What do you think the security guard by the door is for?”

“A barmaid really did sneak in!” Karen hurriedly said. Then, she raised her arm and pointed

at Lea.

“Look, that’s her. She’s the barmaid. She even stole my necklace!”

When Karen pointed over, Lea subconsciously hid behind Kisa’s back.

Suddenly, a middle-aged woman standing in the crowd had a light-bulb moment. She

came out from the crowd and said to the old woman, “Mom, I remember who she is now. Anthony brought her here.”

“That’s impossible!” the woman standing beside the old lady immediately turned pale.

She growled lowly, “Anthony would never bring a woman like that here.”

“Hmph. Aunt Jane, I’m not falsely accusing Anthony. I saw Anthony bring her here with my own eyes. At the time, I thought she was one of the family’s daughters. I didn’t expect her to be a mere barmaid from a bar.”

Carrie Wagner, the second daughter-in-law of the Mullen family, snorted sardonically.

Seeing Jane turn pale, she continued speaking to the old woman. “Maybe they had a misunderstanding. Anthony would never bring a woman like her back here.”

However, the old woman did not blindly rebuke Anthony. Instead, she looked at Lea, who was behind Kisa.

“You… Did Anthony bring you here?”

Lea gripped Kisa’s hand tightly. She lowered her head and did not dare to speak.

Just then, they heard a familiar voice.

“What’s going on?”

Lea froze and hurriedly turned to the crowd.

As expected, she saw Anthony emerge from the crowd.

However, Anthony’s expression darkened instantly when he saw Lea’s bruised face.

Just as he wanted to walk to Lea, Jane secretly tugged on his arm, indicating him not to go over there.

Anthony frowned deeply and struggled for a few seconds. Despite that, he ended up not walking over to them when he saw the pleading look in his mother’s eyes.

Lea stared deeply at Anthony. However, she felt a twinge in her heart when she saw the indifferent look in Anthony’s eyes. Then, she quietly shifted her gaze away.

Meanwhile, Jane noticed all the changes in their expressions.
