Chapter 1355 He Rarely Confesses His Feelings

Kisa tilted her head and put on a smile. “I’m serious. I’m also serious about what I’m saying to you.”

Seeing her giggling and nonchalance, Gilbert was so mad that he gritted his teeth. He rarely confessed his feelings, but when he did and admitted to her the mistakes he had made back then, she looked like she couldn’t care less. So he got angry, feeling that his expression had gone to waste. But the more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and the harder Kisa laughed. Annoyed, he pushed her down.

A thought came to Kisa’s mind. leveraging on the force, Kisa took several steps back and fell on her buttocks on the floor. She put her hand to her belly and looked at him with resentment. “Are you trying to murder your own child?”

Gilbert panicked and immediately got up to crouch in front of her. “Are you okay?” He looked panic- stricken and had a hard time putting his words together. “I–I didn’t mean to push you. I–I didn’t use a lot of force. I was angry but I–I just pushed you gently.”

Kisa sneered. “You think I’m blind? Who is going to believe your excuse?”

“I really didn’t use much force,” Gilbert quickly said. “Are you alright? Do you feel unwell? Should I ask Kelvin to come and check up on you?”

“No need.” Kisa got up from the floor with ease and brushed down her clothes. “Now you know how it feels to be wronged, don’t you?”

Gilbert narrowed his eyes and stared at her. “You faked a fall to frighten me?”

Kisa clapped her hands and said lightheartedly, “Yeah, didn’t Sara and Sharon use this trick a lot before? I still remember when I once pushed Sara gently, she fell to the ground in a dramatic manner.

When I said I didn’t use any force, you didn’t believe me either. Gilbert, now you know that what you see isn’t necessarily true, right?”

Gilbert stared sullenly at her, not speaking, as if he had nothing to say.

Kisa smiled at him. “It’s late. I’m going to bed. You keep on working.”

“Kisa.” Gilbert took her hand in his and looked at her, his eyes profound, tinged with pique and a hint of helplessness. “Is it true that no matter what, you won’t forgive me for what I’ve done to you in the past?”

“Well…” Kisa deliberately dragged her voice out and smiled. “You’ve done so many inhumane things to me. before, so I can’t forgive you so easily. Maybe I will when I’m in a better mood.”

She broke away from his hand and headed for the bathroom.

Gilbert stared sullenly at her from behind and suddenly laughed in exasperation. He decided to retract what he had just said about her, as she had clearly not become gentler at all. He felt that she had become worse, daring to mock him.

At around 6.00 am, Kisa woke up with a nightmare. It had been so many days since she last had that nightmare that she had almost forgotten about it.

Gilbert stroked her sweaty back and said in a deep voice, “Yesterday afternoon, we went back to the Mullen residence, where we only had lunch. Besides, I basically served all the dishes you ate, and I also ate all those dishes, even the soup. Why am I okay?”

Kisa gasped, her hands subconsciously clutching the bedsheets. ‘Yeah, I could basically rule out what I ate at Felicity’s place, and ! did not eat much at the Mullen residence. So why am I the only one having that nightmare?’

and of the crying face of Karen.

‘How could it be? Could it be that Anthony did it, that he took revenge for Lea? But the Reyes family is a powerful force in Athadale. Although not as powerful as the Mullen family, it’s still well–known. How could Anthony alone destroy the Reyes family in such a short period of time? Could it be that…”
