Chapter 1356 Why Covet Others’ Treasure

“Think carefully. After coming to the Mullen residence and eating there yesterday, what else have you eaten?”

‘What else have I eaten?’ Kisa carefully recalled the scene yesterday afternoon. A long while later, something flashed through her mind, and she instantly became excited.

“It’s tea.” Kisa grabbed Gilbert’s arm. “It’s the tea I took at Vivian’s place. Come to think of it, when I was at the Mullen residence, I visited Vivian almost every day and drank the tea in her place every time.”

“Vivian?” Gilbert slowly narrowed his eyes, and his dangerous aura rose.

Kisa shook her head. “I’m not too sure yet, because Kelvin also drank the tea, and I haven’t seen him experience the same thing as me. Tell you what, I’ll go and verify it today.”

Gilbert looked at her for a long while and asked, “Do you need my help?”

“No, it might arouse suspicion if you go. I have a feeling that if the problem really lies in the tea at Vivian’s place, it may not be Vivian who wants to harm me. Anyway, I need to find out the truth.”

Gilbert nodded. “Okay then. If there are any problems, let me know immediately.” After a pause, he seemed to suddenly remember something. “Yesterday, I mentioned the ‘restricted zone‘ to Mr. Mullen Sr.”

Kisa was startled. “How did it go? Is he willing to show us around?”

Gilbert shook his head. “He didn’t say yes or no, just saying he’d think about it.”

“Really?” Kisa said happily. “So, there is a good chance that we can visit the ‘restricted zone“?”

Gilbert was amused at seeing her glowing eyes. “The nightmare isn’t scary anymore? Look at you, the minute you heard that you might have a chance to visit the ‘restricted zone‘, you became so happy. Is the ‘ restricted zone‘ that interesting?”

“Absolutely. I’d be happy to go and check out what treasures are there.”

Gilbert laughed and stroked her head. “Why do you have to covet others‘ treasure? I can give you anything

you want.”

“That’s not the same. Other people’s treasures are mysterious, yours is at best bought with money, with no mystery and also tacky.”

Gilbert’s face darkened. “Just you wait. I will send you a mysterious treasure later.”

“Let’s see.”

After waking up from a nightmare, Kisa could no longer fall back asleep. After bantering a bit with Gilbert. in bed, the sky had turned bright completely outside. She wanted to go to Vivian’s place to check if there was anything wrong with the tea, but since she had a fight with Vivian last night, she thought it might not be a good idea to go there now. She decided to wait two days before going there.

In the morning, Kisa had breakfast prepared by Gilbert, who was now giving extra care about her diet just in case someone was trying to harm her.

The sun was warm in the early winter. Kisa sat in a wicker chair in the backyard with a newspaper in hand. She was shocked when she read the headlines. It was about the Reyes family, whose business

in Athadale had gone belly–up overnight. Karen, once a high and mighty lady, had been reduced to a lowly. figure that everyone could bully.

Kisa looked at the pictures in the newspaper. The photos were of the miserable looks of the Reyes family

and of the crying face of Karen.

“How could it be? Could it be that Anthony did it, that he took revenge for Lea? But the Reyes family is a powerful force in Athadale. Although not as powerful as the Mullen family, it’s still well–known. How could Anthony alone destroy the Reyes family in such a short period of time? Could it be that…‘
