Chapter 104: Hunting Spree
Chapter 104: Hunting Spree
Herald Fist's attitude earlier was indeed somewhat displeasing to him, but he was a future fat sheep as well.
Thus, Xu Feng couldn't go too overboard and needed to know his limit.
'I can't just scare away my fat sheep and lose such a valuable customer.' Xu Feng fixed his glasses as he pondered the price he needed to request.
It definitely must not be cheaper than Gentle Wind, but must be more expensive as well. Otherwise, it might send a wrong misconception to others.
You want to obtain benefits from him? Then you must treat him with respect and the proper behavior.
He was not a masochist, so he would not be appreciative if one thought that beating him down would make him submit. In fact, it would only increase his ire and dislike toward you.
As he was silently pondering, Xu Feng heard the gunshot sound stopped.
"You've finished killing them already?" Xu Feng turned to Zhao Kai and asked in surprise.
The time that it took him to hunt was getting shorter and shorter as they continued on. Their hunting spree was even becoming easier by the second with the rapid improvement of Zhao Kai.
Not only was he aiming at the critical flesh wound of the monster, but he was also using his tank-like attribute to bully others, courtesy of his Iron Marksman Armor.
Whenever the Boars were attempting to pounce on him and using their powerful paw to crush him, Zhao Kai would purposely ensure their hit would land on his armor, deflecting most of the damage he would take.
By being so meticulous in reducing damage, he was alleviating the burden that Xu Feng would need to do in healing him.
"Just what happened to you? You are like a reborn pro player." Xu Feng raised his hand and gave him a thumbs up, praising him.
"Hehe, it's okay la," Zhao Kai rubbed his nose repeatedly, seemingly bashful of his achievement.
However, his next words made it pretty obvious he enjoyed such compliments.
"Praise me more!"
"..."
A few seconds later, Zhao Kai handed over the remaining material for the Stonehide Boars hide, completing their first requirement.
"Anyway, what were you doing earlier?" He subsequently asked in concern.
Although Xu Feng said he wanted to take a small break, Zhao Kai wasn't that foolish to believe he was actually taking a break. Something must have come up to take away his time slowly.
"Do you know of a person called Zhang Tie Quan?" Xu Feng responded with a question of his own.
"Zhang Tie Quan? That name rings a bell." Zhao Kai furrowed his brows, pondering for a few moments. "Zhang Tie Quan— the heir of the Zhang's Group. Yes, I've heard of him from my elder sister before."
"Good, then do you know how much wealth he has?" Xu Feng inquired, and continued, "I mean his secret wealth as well, not just the ones reported on the surface."
"His secret wealth huh?" Zhao Kai bit his lips, finding his question a bit difficult.
"I don't know about his secret wealth, but if I have to give an estimate, Zhang Tie Quan should have a wealth of around 1-3 million dollars."
"Is that so?" Xu Feng mumbled, wondering if he should charge 300,000 for the guide.
As outrageous as it might sound, for rich people like them, especially when they want to prove themselves to their families, such a sum was considered nothing.
'Alright, 350k it shall be.' Xu Feng clasped his hands and responded, realizing the time he gave Gentle Wind as privilege was up anyway.
Anonymous User: You are too polite, Guild Leader Herald Fist. I have an extensive guide that could help you clear the Scorched Caverns, but the price is a bit pricey. I'm not sure if you could afford it.
Having understood the mindset of Herald Fist, Xu Feng was essentially tempting and daring him to buy it no matter the cost.
'Gentle Wind's probably getting quite a lot of successful raids, so if this Herald Fist is desperate then he should know time is running out.' He thought to himself, believing in the psychological aspect of people not wanting to lose to their rival.
Sure enough, Herald Fist's response was lightning-fast.
Herald Fist: Speak no more. I know you probably sold the extensive guide to Gentle Wind, and I want it. 500,000 dollars is my offer.
"Hot damn!" Xu Feng suddenly shouted in joy, shocking the nearby Zhao Kai for his outburst.
"What the hell, man?" Zhao Kai panted heavily as he patted his chest.
"I almost choke on my food for your outburst." He added, clearly not expecting Xu Feng to lose his cool.
Throughout their entire interaction, Xu Feng had been calm and collected, even in the face of danger. Yet now he lost his cool when the coast was clear.
How could he not be astonished?
Knowing he had overreacted, Xu Feng faked a cough and explained, "The digestive system causes me to yell."
"Bruh!" Zhao Kai twitched his mouth and looked at him with a disbelief expression.
His excuse earlier of the digestive system was logical, at least that was what he thought.
Nevertheless, he decided to not pursue the matter, lest the tables might turn on him later on.
"I see, the digestive system is really one damnable system in our body." He proclaimed, agreeing with Xu Feng, and resumed eating due to the side effect of using the Gluttony skill.
Xu Feng flashed a smile and replied back to Herald Fist.
Anonymous User: I just knew Guild Leader Herald Fist is one straightforward and decisive man. The contract clause has been sent and once signed, I wish you immense success in catching up.
Herald Fist: Signed, and money has been deposited.
"Did someone provoke him?" Xu Feng was dumbfounded by how fast and efficient Herald Fist was when compared to their first conversation.
Despite being surprised, he must thank the person who provoked this dear fat sheep of his to cough up money so readily this time.
Anonymous User: Enjoy the extensive guide: Scorched Caverns is a child's play.
Once he sent the guide, Xu Feng checked on his bank statement through the Divine World's feature and smiled blissfully.
And just like that, he became a millionaire!
