Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 108: Good Tenant

Chapter 108: Good Tenant

BANG!

SCRITCH!

BANG!

SCRITCH!

Two different sounds continued to repeat in the area filled with Ironwood Treants and regular trees.

Zhao Kai was completely immersed in his training exercise— to the point that he had forgotten about his entire surroundings except for his target.

On the Ironwood Treant, there were already numerous markings on its bark labeled with an X sign, an indication that he had shot that place. Every time he made a shot, he would start to mark it if he didn't notice any damage multiplier.

Additionally, to prevent any mistakes, Zhao Kai would purposely let the Ironwood Treant recover completely, without any scratch on its bark before shooting.

It was time-consuming, but this method guaranteed that sooner or later, he would locate the critical flesh points without fail.

And seeing his dedication and concentration in the training exercise, Xu Feng realized he had underestimated Zhao Kai's determination.

"Originally, I planned to throw some bait to motivate him, but I guessed it's no longer necessary now." He mumbled softly, his expression flashing a rare genuine smile.

The smile was different from his usual fake gentle smile that he put up as a facade or out of politeness.

He was genuinely glad that Zhao Kai was improving at a fast rate, almost to the point that his guidance was no longer necessary, albeit minus the crucial information that is still hidden from the current players.

Unwilling to disturb or unintentionally ruin Zhao Kai's immersive training, Xu Feng promptly logged out of the game, leaving zero messages of his departure.

Who knows if his sudden message might notify Zhao Kai and create the exact result that he wanted to prevent?

Thus, he would rather exit the game quietly. If Zhao Kai was done with his training, then he would be the one to send a message to him.

As for him, Xu Feng knew this training exercise was going to take a while, and since he planned on assisting him till the end of the mission, he was going to see the end of it.

The insurgence mission could wait, given its importance was not as important as the growth of Zhao Kai, who would be one of his key players in the future.

However, that didn't mean he was going to idle around.

Xu Feng hopped off his gaming capsule and stretched his body for a moment, still feeling completely refreshed.

The gaming capsule was simply amazing in its features. Despite remaining motionless for so long, his body still felt completely energized and healthy.

The virtual helmet just couldn't hold a candle when compared to the gaming capsule.

As he glanced at the skyscraper view through the windows silently, many thoughts were popping up in his mind. From someone who was broke as hell to suddenly become a millionaire, he found it laughable and melancholy.

'If the past Xu Feng knew it was that easy to earn a living, would he have chosen to work for that ungrateful and vile Reaver Guild?' He wondered silently, before bursting out in laughter.

Just what kind of nonsense was he thinking now?

The past was merely a shadow and the current him was what the brightness would soon shine glamorously.

Shaking his head, Xu Feng realized he hadn't moved his things to the apartment from his dorm room. He was so occupied that he came to the apartment without any of his belongings.

Luckily, most of his belongings were just some old ragged clothes that he wore consistently throughout the year, so there weren't many regrets.

"I might as well purchase new clothes and a car." He mumbled softly, glancing down at his clothes.

Living in this district required a car to prove one's status. This was the reality of the world. If you don't present or decorate yourself nicely, then you will be looked down upon.

The previous incident in Zhang's Electronics was one prime example of why he was being used by others. If he were to dress nicely, then he doubted the employees there would even attempt to use him for their schemes.

Sometime later, he walked toward the living room and searched the fridge.

"Nice, she actually got Life Water stored in here." He exclaimed in amazement. Right as he was about to extend his hand and grab one, Xu Feng's smartwatch made a notification.

[You have received a text message from your landlord, Erica.]

The smartwatch's automatic voice echoed, and Xu Feng was having a bad feeling about it. Temporarily closing the fridge, he retrieved his phone with a somewhat nervous behavior.

As he opened his message and read it, his facial muscles relaxed and he was somewhat feeling a little bit guilty now.

Erica: The Life Water on the fridge is free, but don't drink too much of it. It's not good to consume too much Life Water despite its beneficial effects. Overly beneficial could inadvertently harm a person instead.

'It was not a warning, but a gentle reminder huh.' Xu Feng smiled bitterly as he retrieved the Life Water.

The message made him feel guilty because all along, he had nefarious intentions in trying to swindle the apartment from her. Yet the landlord was acting magnanimously, making it hard for him to proceed with such a plan.

How was he supposed to act maliciously when someone was giving him kindness?

Shouldn't she have reacted fiercely and warned him of the consequences of taking her things?

'Damn, did she secretly know my plan and so she made such a move to ruin me?' Xu Feng wondered silently, drinking a few sips of Life Water.

A few seconds later, he completely finished the Life Water and felt refreshed.

It was of great quality, meaning there wasn't any foul play involved.

With no foul play involved, Xu Feng could only bite his lips softly and change his plan.

He was a simple person.

Those who wronged him, he would kindly repay the favor tenfold. But for those who didn't wrong him, he could only resign his fate and not commit malicious and outrageous acts toward them.

'Fine, I'll just be a good tenant for now, but if she really does do something against me, then I'll resume the plan.' He fixed his glasses and made up his mind.
