Returning From The Magic World

Chapter 147 Isla's Mother

Chapter 147 Isla's Mother

"Hahahahaha..." He suddenly laughed.

"Good, Isla, you won, but don't be happy just yet, a toxic woman like you will definitely have bad luck in the future," he said. Even though his brain might already have the wish to die, he was still conscious.

This could only be said for how amazing the ingredients in the candy were.

Arthur could ensure that he wouldn't say anything about it to anyone else because his intent to die truly was greater than anything else. Even if he was offered the whole world, he would reject it without hesitation.

Only, he seemed to prefer cursing Isla before he embarked on his journey to death.

"Maybe in the future, you will be like your mother, become a prostitute, hahaha..."

Pa!

Isla suddenly slapped his cheeks before looking at Ang and the others.

"Let him go!" She gave orders to them.

And without hesitation, they did as she ordered.

Luke, after his hands and feet were untied, immediately stood up.

While laughing as if he was laughing at Isla's fate, he walked out of the house.

Even outside, he was still laughing, even shouting hello to Amanda who was playing on her cell phone in her Lamborghini. That made her text Arthur, asking what was going on.

Arthur only answered with few words, (a mesmerizing spectacle!)

Isla, having done all that, cut her birthday cake one more time, and then distributed it to her friends and neighbors.

Of course, their gazes on her at this moment seemed to hide fear.

The last one she gave cake to was Arthur. That's actually the best part of the cake, having ten layers of different colors and flavors.

"Please eat," she said.

Picking up the small plate where the cake was, Arthur met her eyes.

Her eyelashes slightly raised, as if there was a smile that she was hiding.

Arthur didn't say anything else, walked over to a chair and sat down before starting to eat the cake.

Now that the situation had calmed down enough, Ethan and Maria came again, they seemed curious about the birthday gifts.

Isla allowed them to open the gifts.

Meanwhile, although Arthur was the last to receive Isla's birthday cake, he was the fastest to finish it.

Isla who already knew his way of eating was not surprised at all.

"By the way, want to see an interesting spectacle? If that guy's brain isn't strong, it should happen before long." She said in a low voice to Arthur.

The latter suddenly thought of Luke who had just left, so he nodded and stood up.

Immediately after that Isla walked towards a bedroom door.

Seeing Arthur following her, all of Isla's friends widened their eyes.

"What the hell? That boy sure is smart, but even if Isla likes him, she shouldn't have brought him to her bedroom so soon," Ang said with an expression like he didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Unfortunately he couldn't stop them.

When they entered the room, Isla immediately closed the door.

Isla's room is not spacious, but very clean and tidy.

It was full of books arranged from the floor to the ceiling.

At a point, Arthur saw a photo.

It is a photograph of a beautiful young woman giving a barbie doll to a little girl who may be in kindergarten.

The two of them looked alike enough, one who saw them would think that they were mother and daughter.

"Mm..." Arthur quickly turned his gaze to the bed when he found an old newspaper.

What was in the newspaper was quite a shock even for him.

(A woman has died crucified on an electric pole!)

That was the headline, and below it was a blurry image of a naked, wounded woman crucified on an electric pole.

Even though he had seen enough atrocities, Arthur could still tell that this one was particularly cruel.

And there's no doubt that it's the same woman as the woman in the photo.

Actually, the woman was probably only in her early 20s, possibly even younger than Isla right now.

If she was Isla's mother, then she probably gave birth to Isla at the age of 15 or 16.

This is a very ironic story.

Isla, of course, noticed Arthur's gaze.

"That woman's name is Isla," she said, making Arthur's eyes move oddly.

"I used to call her Aunt Isla. When I was little, I innocently thought that she was an angel God sent me because she always visited this house and gave me many gifts.

"However, when I entered elementary school, she never appeared again.

"Over time, I realized something was off. After forcing my adoptive parents, they finally told me that she was my birth mother.

"I then started an investigation and the newspaper is what I found."

Isla sighed and sat on the bed while picking up the laptop on the table.

"As a tribute to her, I changed my name to the same name as her name," she added.

Even though her expression became somewhat listless as she spoke all that, she still managed to maintain her composure.

"I'm sorry for your mother," Arthur said.

If it was him, he would also be harboring an enormous grudge, one that would not be able to disappear unless the grudge was avenged.

Isla ultimately chose the path of revenge because if she didn't, she wouldn't be able to feel alive.

Maybe her relationship with her mother was very short, but ones couldn't forget where they were born from.

"I'm ready with all the consequences," Isla said then opened her laptop.

She opened a certain app and immediately a scene inside Luke's BMW appeared.

The man was driving smiling and whistling, not realizing that there was a hidden camera behind him.

Maybe it's not a hidden camera, but the car's real camera. Isla somehow managed to connect the camera to her laptop.

In the end, even if she wasn't a hacker because she didn't study in the field, considering that she could get her hands on the drug, having a skilled hacker friend was only natural for her.

"By the way, how did you get your friends to obey you, and even your neighbors to choose silence seeing what you were doing?" asked Arthur. He was more curious about that than Luke's death.
