Returning From The Magic World

Chapter 148 Recruit Isla

Chapter 148 Recruit Isla

"I'm nice to them so they like me, what's so strange?" Isla answered with a faint smile.

In Arthur's eyes, it was clear that she was hiding something.

"Well, I'll ask them later if you don't want to tell me," Arthur replied.

Isla smiled wryly at that.

"Okay!" She e sighed again.

"They obey me because I know things about them," she said.

"What do you mean?" Arthur had a guess, but was a bit unsure.

"Actually, my adoptive father and mother were former secret agents, so I learned a lot from them," Isla answered.

"So you've been spying on every one of your friends and neighbors to the point you know their disgrace?" Arthur stared at the woman in disbelief.

It's practically overkill. Isla was now 21 years old, so she was spying on them maybe in her late teens, about the same age as Carla and Bella right now.

"Don't they hate you for that?" asked Arthur.

"Maybe they're annoyed that their disgrace is hidden in my computer, but since I've always been nice to them, they probably almost forgot about it but immediately remembered when I asked them for help."

"You exceeded my expectations." Arthur laughed softly. "There probably isn't a better woman than you at your age."

"I don't dare to think that way, you know, the world has no shortage of people with ambitions. Among them, there are those who really have the ability to fulfill their ambitions."

"Well!" Arthur chose to stop talking and stared at Isla's laptop screen again.

Surprisingly enough, there were three pistols in Luke's car dashboard. The man took all three, inspecting them as he continued driving.

At this moment, his eyes looked even more like his mind had already been completely affected by the drug.

Maybe his brain is weak.

And the place where he stopped surprised both Arthur and Isla.

It was a police station, which even though it was night, was still quite crowded.

Arthur wondered if he wanted to die while attacking the precinct.

It's practically more terrifying than the terrorists, they at least didn't come there.

Isla started to knit her brows at that. She also didn't want Luke to do anything like the terrorists did.

Even though she wanted the man to die, she wanted it to be a more natural death, like an accident caused by his driving too fast.

However, an act of terrorism? If someone is killed, she, as the main mastermind, will also get the sins.

Fortunately, at this moment, Luke was still sitting in his car, not moving at all, only focused on examining his pistols.

"Now you're worried, right?" Arthur said with a low laugh.

One person cannot control everything. In the end, it depended on each person's heart.

If it was him and he did want revenge, he could turn a blind eye if his actions harmed people completely unrelated.

However, Isla was still a young woman. Although there are some bad things about her, it is far from reaching the point of serious crimes like killing innocent people.

"In the end, it's something that can't be controlled. Luke was right, I'm a toxic woman, I can't be an angel," Isla said, looking like she was trying to shake off her worries.

"Want some help?" Arthur had already made up his mind to recruit Isla and he thought now was the perfect time.

Despite just trying to shake off her worries, Isla looked directly at Arthur when she heard his words.

"How are you going to help me?" she asked.

"That's easy for me. Even helping you get revenge on the entire Anderson Family," Arthur replied.

Luke was Isla's first target. Maybe it was because he was the easiest for her to approach relying on her identity as a woman.

However, the rest of the Anderson Family was different, there was the older generation or the middle-aged generation. Getting revenge on them was no easy thing and she couldn't use the same method against them.

Isla looked into Arthur's eyes. She was aware that there was something hidden about this man or else she wouldn't be easily attracted to him even with his preferred way of thinking.

"What do you want?" She asked.

"Well, you see, Amanda, or Rose who has been making a scene at school, I'm sure you have heard of her. Those are the girls who followed me. I gave them something and they helped me according to their ability. I want you to be like them, following me on my journey."

Arthur's answer that clearly stated information about him made Isla's eyes narrow.

It's so clear now. Amanda is not his lover, but his subordinate. The woman just has an obsession with him.

"Who exactly are you?" Isla asked in a low and gentle voice.

"Do you want an honest answer?" Arthur asked back.

"Don't worry, I won't jump even if you say that you're the leader of the most powerful hidden organization."

Arthur couldn't help but laugh softly at what she said. The way she imagines seems quite wild.

"Actually the leader of the most powerful hidden organization doesn't really matter to me," Arthur replied. "However, I'm currently only a youth with a bit of power, but in a few years I should already be able to rule this world. It might be quicker if you come to help me."

Arthur's claim made Isla's expression erratic, as if she wasn't sure what to think.

In the end, she pushed her hair behind her ear so that her features were more defined.

Granted, she wasn't as pretty as Carla and Bella. Both of them, after all, possessed Europe's best genetics, like swan among birds.

However, Isla, even though she was born as an ordinary bird, she could make herself continuously evolve. Maybe surpass the swan in the future with the charm that the swan lacks.

"Even if your brain somehow surpasses a computer, I still don't believe you can rule the world, what exactly do you rely on?" She narrowed her eyes again, scrutinizing Arthur more closely only to find nothing.

"Well, how about answering my question first, are you willing or not to follow me?" asked Arthur.
