Chapter 168 Entered The Cave
Chapter 168 Entered The Cave
1.5 kilometers is certainly not a short distance. Although the tree trunk moves fast, it still cannot be compared to a car. It's not that Arthur can get there as fast as a car, but it's difficult in this river. If it goes too fast, it might hit something.
As they went further, the river became narrower and shallower.
It seems to have an end there.
"Mm!" Arthur squinted his eyes a bit.
About a hundred meters ahead, he faintly saw a cave whose mouth resembled a wild animal's mouth as it had carvings like teeth on each side.
There were quite a few bears around the cave, some even fighting each other.
As the tree branch got closer to the cave, the bears finally noticed Arthur and the other two.
"Aunt, what do you think? I'm sure you can fight with all your might here." Arthur looked at Isabel who was observing the bears.
Hearing his words, she looked at him and said, "I feel uncomfortable killing them, is it okay if I just defeat them?"
What she said made Arthur laugh. He replied, "It's okay, of course. However, if you don't want them to suffer, you must not hurt them too badly."
"I know," Isabel replied.
"Well, then let's move!" Arthur waved his hand, causing the speed of the tree trunk to increase dramatically. When it arrived on land, it jumped into the air.
"Ahh..." Isabel was a little surprised, so Arthur had to pat her back to calm her down.
BANG!
The tree trunk fell in the middle of the group of bears.
Three alien creatures suddenly jumped towards them, it was impossible for them not to be angry.
One by one, they rushed towards Arthur and the others.
Facing so many bears, Isabel couldn't relax. She quickly jumped into the air, unleashing lightning from her body.
Whoosh!
Using her lightning power, she could move in the air. She then went up to a fallen tree branch.
Arthur didn't plan to fight because he didn't need to practice his fighting skills by fighting a group of bears.
The cave caught his attention because inside, the spiritual energy was much denser.
"Nova, accompany my aunt, make sure nothing happens to her," Arthur said to the young woman with glasses.
Here, she took off her glasses, making her eyes shine, emitting a purple light like the moon in a fantasy world.
Ordered by Arthur, Nova spontaneously nodded. Who knows whether it was because she was afraid to refuse his orders or for some other reason, so his orders seemed like an obligation to her.
Whoosh!
Arthur jumped into the cave's mouth. With the help of wind magic, he easily passed through the group of bears.
At this point, their focus was on Isabel because her movements were very conspicuous.
The lightning produced by her really illuminated the darkness in the area.
Arthur watched her for a moment before walking into the cave.
He created a larger fireball so that the view became very clear.
From where he was standing now, the cave looked small, but he saw several tunnels leading underground.
He chose the largest tunnel. Inside it was very warm, almost like in the summer.
There were many rats, even some venomous snakes.
An ordinary person who entered the tunnel would practically be seeking death.
However, he walked in calmly.
Some snakes that approached him immediately turned into ashes because the fireball that followed him created smaller fireballs to burn the poisonous creatures.
'There doesn't seem to be any human trace here,' thought Arthur as he touched the wall of the tunnel.
The problem was that it looked completely natural, as if the tunnel had been like that for hundreds of years.
And it seemed very long.
Arthur, of course, was not worried at all. To him, it was just a somewhat hidden place. With his past experience of visiting ancient tombs where the corpses could suddenly come back to life, the tunnel from this cave wouldn't scare him even if he had the heart of a cowardly turtle.
"Hmm!"
On a rock, he suddenly saw a black mushroom with white stripes.
The size of the mushroom was much larger than most mushrooms. It was about 20 cm tall and emitted an indistinct aroma. You might be able to smell the aroma if you bit into a dry leaf.
That was not something that was recommended, of course.
When he saw the mushroom, Arthur quickly approached it. His face showed surprise.
"The Eternal Cave Mushroom, it's really growing here, how is that possible?" he said.
It was certainly a rare Spiritual Plant.
The word cave was added because it only grew inside a cave. As for why it also had the word Eternal, it was because the mushroom couldn't die once it grew unless you pulled it out by its roots.
The benefits of the Eternal Cave Mushroom were certainly numerous. What was unique was that it had many levels.
This one might be only the lowest level, but it could keep growing until it reached a level equivalent to that of a great magus.
Arthur observed the mushroom, from top to bottom and from side to side.
However, even though it was unique, he didn't rush to take it because he planned to go further into the tunnel. Carrying the mushroom now would only make things difficult for him.
He continued his steps, even speeding up a bit.
Just a few moments later, he found the same mushroom growing on a similar rock.
That was the second one, and not long after, he found another one.
Given the rarity of the mushroom, he couldn't help but be suspicious.
However, he didn't find anything strange.
Soon he arrived at the end of the tunnel and there was really nothing there except for the place which was very hot.
'Weird,' he thought.
He knelt down, touching the ground he was stepping on, trying to feel if there was something hidden underneath.
But just as he touched the ground, something suddenly emerged from under it.
It was a hand full of black fur, similar to a monkey's hand but shaped like a human hand.
With a quick movement, the hand grabbed his ankle.
