Returning From The Magic World

Chapter 169 Strange Creature

Chapter 169 Strange Creature

"Damn it?" Arthur cursed while hitting the ground.

He didn't know which creature's hand it was and had never seen a hand with the same aura in the Sky World. However, as a great magus, it was impossible for him to be afraid just because he saw something that looked terrifying and unfamiliar.

BANG!

His hit was really strong, making the ground instantly dented. What was hidden there was finally revealed.

It was a creature that had a human-like body.

However, it was not wearing clothes while its skin was covered with scales and black feathers.

Its eyes were red like blood, and when it looked at Arthur, it seemed to see food.

"Hungry, I'm hungry... Spiritual Core, give me your Spiritual Core..." The creature suddenly spoke in English that surprised Arthur quite a bit.

Its voice was also similar to a human's, only it was very hoarse, like a broken speaker.

For now, Arthur was completely sure that he did not recognize this creature. It was a race that he met for the first time today.

As he looked at it, the creature tried to pull its leg.

"Hmph!" He snorted softly and then swung his other foot at the creature's face.

From his observation, the creature was not really strong, basically still at the Apprentice Magus level if he were a mage.

And he didn't feel like it was a powerful creature that had lost its power. In other words, it was indeed its original strength.

BANG!

Arthur's foot landed on its head, making its body shake so that its grip on his ankle also loosened.

It shook its head, looking like a human trying to get rid of a headache.

"Hungry," it said again, looking at Arthur.

After that, it jumped and rushed towards him.

"It seems your intelligence is not that good," Arthur said.

Talking to a creature with limited intelligence would be useless, so he could only catch it first.

As it got closer to him, he kicked it again.

This time, it tried to block with its hands, but the force of the kick was still much stronger.

Its body was thrown, hitting the wall behind.

Then, he ran towards it while chanting a stronger spell.

Rumble!

The tunnel shook as several chains appeared behind the creature and quickly bound its body.

Arthur didn't want to slow down the fight since the enemy was an unknown creature, so he didn't mind using more power to capture it in a short time.

The creature tried to free itself from the chains that bound its body. It even screamed and kicked the air with its still-moving legs.

Unfortunately, the chains created by Arthur were much stronger.

Arriving in front of it, he punched its stomach hard, causing its mouth to open like someone who wanted to vomit. Maybe it would really vomit if it weren't for its empty stomach.

Arthur's punch was enough to calm it down. Its red eyes became slightly dim. It looked at Arthur, confused about how the man in front of it was so strong.

"You can talk, can you answer my question?" Arthur asked it.

Until now, he continued to observe the creature.

Right after he asked, it really answered, "release me, you can take all the mushrooms I've grown."

"Oh?" Arthur's eyes became more interested. He glanced back and said, "so you planted them?"

'At least he knows how to communicate and grow plants,' he thought. That meant it wasn't as stupid as he imagined.

"Well, you can't say that because since I arrived here and defeated you, all those mushrooms have become mine," he continued.

"If you want to be free, you have to tell me where you come from..."

His eyes stared at it closely, waiting for it's answer.

However, the words were not answered by it, its body suddenly tried to free itself from the chains again. Even its foot wanted to kick him.

Before its foot could hit him, he punched its stomach again. And it was harder than before, so not only its mouth was wide open, but also its eyes.

"I will seek revenge in the future," it suddenly said.

Now, its face suddenly showed anger.

Arthur wasn't sure how this creature thought, he said, "I'll keep hitting you until you speak, you trash!"

His hand moved again, this time towards its face.

However, before his hand could hit its face, suddenly black light radiated from its body.

He felt danger, so he immediately jumped back.

Boom!

The creature's body exploded right after he jumped.

It certainly didn't ignite the fire, but there was some kind of black smoke that Arthur estimated contained dangerous toxins.

Seeing that, Arthur quickly created wind around him so that the smoke wouldn't hit him while his eyes stared at the ground that the creature had stepped on. For a moment, he saw something like a shadow entering the ground.

"Is it still alive?" He wondered because blowing oneself up like that was a very dangerous act. Even top-level creatures have a high chance of dying.

However, considering that the creature said it would seek revenge in the future, it might have actually survived.

What confused Arthur was what it was doing underground with those conditions.

When the smoke disappeared, he quickly went to the place where it disappeared. His hand touched the ground and flowed energy into it.

"Mm!" His eyes opened and showed surprise.

"How is that possible? Is that really a creature that lives underground?" Question after question popped up in Arthur's head.

As he investigated the ground, he found a kind of path that was similar to a wormhole, far underground so he couldn't predict its end.

It was completely out of his reach.

"Or is there life underground too? As the legends say?"

Arthur held his chin and thought.

Legends of life underground were not new, many books discussed it. There are even other rumors that say it's covered up by the world government.

Of course, the fact that the creature was very strange made Arthur think further. He suspected that the creature was related to the creatures written on the golden paper.
