Reverse Apocalypse: The Devil's Revenge

Chapter 123 Familiar Faces

Chapter 123 Familiar Faces

"That's just your opinion. You are delusional, and your attacks nearly killed Derek. So what if you killed three boars, I don't give a shit!"

Liam's sudden outburst attracted the attention of the women who had already left his group.

They turned around to look behind and once again were glad and reassured that they had made the right choice.

If they wanted to travel with someone who would keep shouting at them and threatening to kill them, they might as well go to the prison to visit a few scumbags there.

However, other than the women who turned around to look at the situation, neither Olivia, Felicia, Jennie, nor Derek and Hellen seemed to be surprised by his outburst.

The two women might have killed three boars, but two of their bolts nearly hit Derek as well. He didn't have a favorable impression of people who shot him in his back, quite literally, and he wanted to avoid them if possible.

Derek was quite thankful that Liam took note of the incident and that he pointed it out.

"Don't look at me like that, and fuck off. Derek is a much better combat force than the two of you combined. He has only one arm, his weak arm at that, yet he is brave enough to fight on the frontlines, where a single mistake can lead to death. But even while facing multiple boars at the same time, he remains rather calm despite his inexperience in close combat!

Meanwhile, Hellen is more useful to the group when her Soultrait is used in combination of Jennie's. As long as they work together, we can easily raid dungeons, towers, and other ancient structures. They're worth the investment I'm willing to make as long as they don't give up on themselves.

As for you two...you cannot even fight one monster on your own without 'accidentally' releasing a few bolts at your own allies. You two have yet to awaken your Soultraits as well. No matter how I look at it, you guys are simply not worth an investment of 1000 Arcanium each. I see no potential in either of you. You're the best examples of death flags!

I don't want to be shot in the back either." Liam shouted in agitation, his eyes gleaming dangerously.

His hands were slowly forming into claws and he was just about to take a step closer to them and either forces them to leave and never be seen by him again or to end up as a bunch of Arcanium for him and the Livral Orb.

The two women began to shiver uncontrollably. They clenched their fists and held onto each other for support. They were reluctant to leave but as they didn't want to die, the only thing they could do was to actually leave.

Their plan to use Liam as their means of survival failed miserably and the two women could only suppress their sobs as they turned around to catch up with the other women.

"What an interesting show. I didn't expect you to continue to pick up people, let alone that you would bring them to our small fortress."

A calm voice addressed him from their left. Liam had already noticed a group of people from the corner of his eyes but he didn't intend to pay any attention to them.

'Them' were actually Felix, Kian, Rex, and a few other natives who resided in the humongous gymnasium, which they had turned into a big fortress.

Looking over to the group, Liam smiled lightly. He retracted his claws and continued to stare at them with an amiable expression on his face.

He didn't really have a problem with Felix. In fact, Felix was the least of his worries right now. Some of his people, however, were a little bit different.

They retrieved their weapons from the scabbard and prepared for battle. That was what everyone except Rex, Kian and Felix did instinctively upon seeing Liam, and it was only natural. Liam would be wary of members of other races as well.

It was better to be careful than dead, after all!

What Liam didn't expect was that Olivia, Felicia and Jennie would jump in front of him and enter a defensive stance. The three girls were ready to fight Felix and his group at any moment, which was a slight surprise.

"If you want to kill him, you have to fight us first!" Olivia announced, her voice cold as ice.

Liam didn't expect the three girls to be willing to fight other humans for him, especially Jennie. He was not too sure if she could cope with the aftermath if she were to actually pull the trigger of the crossbow and kill a fellow human.

Nonetheless, it was very interesting and kind of nice to see that the girls were ready to protect him.

"This is so sweet~"

The moment a bulky man said these words in a mocking tone, the girls frowned deeply. Their expressions turned into disgust.

"Ewww, a creep. Where the hell did you pick up someone like this, Felix?" Olivia asked while she scowled and rolled her eyes.

She exaggerated her expression that revealed utter disgust and contempt toward the bulky man, who had attempted to make fun of Liam.

Surprisingly, the other two girls joined her as well, making fun of the bulky man even before he could say something.

Liam didn't react to either of the provocations. He kept looking at the three girls, who continued to harass the bulky man.

Meanwhile, Rex and Kian took note of Derek and Hellen. The other women who were on their way to the gymnasium's main entrance attracted their attention as well. It hadn't been long since they separated, yet it looked like lots of things had happened.

"Did you end up picking up more people?" Rex asked, not sure what else he should ask Liam. He didn't know if Liam held a grudge because he and Kian left them, but he hoped that this was not the case.

Despite that, he felt a little uncomfortable. He had not intended to leave at that time and did it only for his best friend.

He actually wondered what would have happened if he hadn't left Liam's group.

Had he taken the right decision?"
