Reverse Apocalypse: The Devil's Revenge

Chapter 124 You're Weak And Incompetent

Chapter 124 You're Weak And Incompetent

"We ended up like this, yeah," Liam responded with a shrug, "Not that I wanted to though."

"Not that it's your business anymore!" Felicia suddenly added with a glare. She had known Rex and Kian for several years now and was extremely disappointed in their decision to leave their group.

Liam might not be perfect, but Kian's reaction was literally one of a hypocrite. Though all of them were a hypocrite in one way or another, Felicia felt that Kian was the biggest of them all!

Rex may not be as much of a hypocrite as Kian, but she was annoyed about his indecisiveness and annoying attitude to simply follow his best friend.

Rex understood that his impression had been ruined considerably in the eyes of his classmates, but there was nothing he could do about it. He felt a little bit sad, however, there was nobody to listen to his complaints.

On the other hand, Kian didn't really seem bothered by Olivia's comment.

"I agree. It's none of our business."

Kian's voice carried a hint of coldness as he looked at the group he had once been a part of. Liam was not too sure what was going on in the young man's mind but that was not something he was interested in enough to pay more attention to Kian.

He didn't hold a grudge against Rex or Kian either. They had chosen their path and that was fine with him, as long as they didn't cross paths with him as enemies. In that case, he would have to kill them. However, Liam didn't think that something like this would happen anytime soon.

He was pretty sure that he could read the room pretty decently. Felix, the leader of the natives in the gymnasium, didn't intend to fight him.

Felix didn't unsheathe his weapons and he didn't change his stance either. He was standing tall and proud at the front of his group, his shoulders squared and his chin held high.

He watched the women who made their way to the gymnasium and assessed their condition in the following seconds.

"How did you find them?"

There was no arrogance, or disgust in his voice. Felix was genuinely curious to find out how Liam found so many women. After all, it was not difficult to determine that there was only one new man and over a dozen new women that had temporarily joined Liam's group.

Liam didn't intend to hide the facts. He summarized the events in a few sentences and gave him a brief answer. Felix was slightly surprised but he could maintain his expression well.

"I heard the news about foreign races from other cities. As you may know, it is a little bit difficult to communicate over a long distance with the loss of the internet, but we were able to get to know some information. Stura has yet to face the threat of foreign races, but it should only be a matter of time before that will change as well.

Of course, that doesn't mean Stura is safe. Most areas in Stura have been destroyed by the monster hordes. But as you can see the gymnasium is still standing strong. We will see what we're going to do with the information you've provided, thank you!" He said with a small smile on his face.

Felix seemed a lot more talkative than before. Liam squinted his eyes and the girls in front of him were also a little stupefied.

"If you find more helpless survivors of the Arcane Apocalypse, send them over to the gymnasium. Every bit of help is highly appreciated!"

'Is he planning something? Why is he so amiable all of a sudden? He was never hostile to me, but this is a little too much, ain't it?' Liam thought as he listened to Felix's proposal to send hapless survivors to the gymnasium.

Leading others through the apocalypse was certainly not easy. It was not exactly worthwhile because he wouldn't earn lots of Arcanium. The amount of work required to achieve that shouldn't be worthwhile.

'Did he receive a mission? That's probably it.'

Liam was deep in thought, but he was pulled out of it as he sensed the killing intent of a young man. The young man had golden hair, and a lean build. His natural posture indicated that he was familiar with martial arts. He was standing next to Felix and radiated intense killing intent.

"We're on the verge of death because of bastards like you. If you and your people wouldn't exist…everything would be fine…why…WHY did you have to attack us? Was it really necessary…You bastards should have never existed in the first place…"

Liam raised one eyebrow as he looked at the lean martial artist.

"I think you're mistaken about something," Liam said, "You're just too fucking weak to defend yourself and the people you deem to hold dearly."

His royal purple eyes stared straight in the eyes of the martial artist. The young man's entire being seemed to be filled with wrath and uncontrollable hatred for Liam.

"If you're too incompetent to stay alive, just accept your fate and die!"

Liam was still reeling with anger from their trip through the forest. It had been a hassle to come up with a secure route through the small part of the Jula Valley's forest. There had hardly been any dangerous monsters, yet the women in his group hadn't even been able to kill them without endangering their allies.

He was still irked by the sheer presence of those ignorant and stupid women, and he couldn't handle anymore bullshit right now.

Felix noticed that the situation was showing signs of escalating and going down the wrong path. He didn't intend to fight with Liam, and it was quite obvious that Liam didn't have that intention either.

Unfortunately, the young man who had trained martial arts with him for quite a while already, Max, didn't think the same way.

"Don't g–.." Felix ordered, while his hand reached out for Max's arm to hold him back from doing anything stupid. However, Max had already disappeared.

The young martial artist charged forward with terrific acceleration. Liam immediately knew that Max's Agility was on par with Kian's. That was a little annoying but it didn't bother him much.

He was more interested in the response of the three girls. Would they attack Max, whose killing intent was clearly perceptible by everyone, or would they be too scared to attack?

Interestingly enough, Jennie lifted the crossbow which she was holding with trembling hands, and triggered it. A bolt was released a mere moment later.

The bolt cut through the air and it strafed Max's shoulder, cutting through his clothes. Jennie's legs gave in a moment later as she realized what she had just done.

However, Felicia and Olivia were not as weak-willed. They shot forward and slashed at Max at the same time. This was also a little surprising to Liam. He didn't expect the girls to really lunge forward and attack Max. After all, the young martial artist was probably not in the right mental condition.

He had probably lost too many people he held dearly, and couldn't accept the appearance of the Arcane System, and the connection to the Nine Realms.

Just as Olivia's longsword was about to behead Max, the young martial artist disappeared.

He seemed to have vanished without leaving a trace of his existence.

Olivia and Felicia missed their target. They stumbled over the ground and nearly fell but turned around to take a look back to Liam worriedly.

And there he was, standing behind Liam, piercing out with a dagger.
