Chapter 416: Nightmare Forest
Chapter 416: Nightmare Forest
Chapter 416: Nightmare Forest
The biggest hurdle towards the Nightmare Forests was that powerful barrier that surrounded Fortress City, as the way there was short and empty.
Tianlong Yun was able to quickly arrive in front of the Nightmare Forests, as he was finally looking at what was in front of him.
On the outside the Nightmare Forests looked like an ominous place that was able to send the chills down ones back, Tianlong Yun and the ladies by his side weren't an exception.
There was some kind of purplish-green aura surrounding it, that seemed like it was an invitation of pain and desolation.
The strangest thing was that one wasn't able to sense or 'see' what was behind the first line of trees, as everything got darker, and pitch black.
It looked like the light didn't dare to enter behind that line. As everything was ruled by darkness!
The more one stood in front of the Nightmare Forests the more one would feel frightened at the idea of entering it, the fear would rise slowly but surely.
And if someone stayed there for more than 5 minutes looking at it, then perhaps he would never be able to enter this place for his entire life.
Tianlong Yun was feeling that eerie feeling and was able to sense that the determination and resolve of the ladies by his side were shaking, and would soon shatter if this continued.
It looked like some kind of voice was whispering in their ears, trying to brainwash and hypnotize them, as even he was feeling some kind of slight disturbance to his conscience sea.
While the disturbance was almost inexistent, it was still able to affect him rather profoundly, as it was like the whisper of a devil.
It looked like it was contacting directly his soul, and trying to brainwash his entire being. This was truly dangerous, as no ordinary person would be able to handle that.
Looking at this he had a feeling that the four ladies by his side would be more of a burden if he took them inside, so he immediately sent them inside the Old Pouch.
He didn't say anything as he did that, as he didn't even give them instructions, he just sent them inside unexpectedly.
Closing that loose end, Tianlong Yun immediately created the strongest barrier he could around his sea of conscience and soul, as he took a deep breath and entered inside.
His steps were resolute and determined, as he walked one step at a time, approaching more and more to the first line of trees, and then passing them.
The moment he stepped foot on the other side of the first line of trees, his vision totally blackened and he couldn't see anything.
Even his spirit sense that was supposed to be indomitable, and better than any other expert of his Realm, was nothing wider than 1 meter around him.
Everything was so weird inside, that weird weak voice had become a bit louder, and he could hear it better, so he had to create better barriers around his sea of conscience and soul.
At least the barriers seemed useful, and there was no problem with the voice at the moment, but still, he couldn't help but think of the dire strait that left him.
He was spending a lot of his soul power, and Qi to guard his mind against that voice, and any other possible danger, but the problem was that he didn't have an endless flow of them.
In fact, according to his estimations, he would have to rest at least every two to three hours in order for him to be able to stay conscious all this while.
And that was under the condition that nothing else happened to him all this time and that no monster or creature came to attack him.
But the situation wasn't entirely hopeless, as he tried to use his Old Pouch, and while the consummated soul power was large, he was still able to do it.
Like this, he would be able to enter the Old Pouch whenever he had any problems or wanted to replenish his tanks.
This surely would hinder his exploration time into only 1 hour, 1 hour and a half, but at least, he would have a safe heaven to recuperate.
With these thoughts in mind, he didn't linger there anymore as he started to walk forward slowly, as he checked his surrounding to avoid any kind of danger.
Like this more than an hour passed, by there was no sign of any danger around him, he hadn't felt even the tiniest bit of killing intent.
In fact, from what he had seen this place looked desolate and lonely. The trees seemed to be the only inhabitants in here, as there was no other sign of a living being.
To be more precise he had the feeling like the whole Nightmare Forests were just one big entity, and not separate.
But this was just a weird feeling he had, and nothing more. The possibilities of this being true were infinitely close to zero, as slowly Tianlong Yun could feel that he wouldn't be able to last for long in that state.
For that reason, he immediately placed the Old Pouch on what he considered to be the ground, as he immediately entered inside.
If he had tarried even a small moment later, perhaps he would have the necessary power to do it.
But the moment he entered the Old Pouch he was immediately hit by a powerful right in his eyes, as he lost composure for a moment.
Not only that, but even the pressure that the Nightmare Forest was giving him, and that small voice had disappeared.
Finally, he could relax a bit and feel relieved that he had such a trump card. It wasn't a wonder that none of the people that entered this place had died.
Whoever it was, it would either go crazy from that corrupting weak voice or would either succumb to the pressure and die like that.
From what he had observed the Nightmare Forests not only pressured the Soul cultivation of a cultivator but even feed upon it.
It was some kind of strange mechanism that wasn't easily discernible, but one thing was for certain, this forest had turned into the resting home of countless experts, and powerhouses.
The more he thought like this, the more excited Tianlong Yun became because danger and opportunity lived together.
The more dangerous a place can be, the more profitable, and rare the opportunity he might face would be.
In fact, this even boosted his hopes of finding the inheritance of that rumored Soul God in here, as it was one of his biggest priorities at this moment.
But right now, wasn't the time to think about this, as he had more important things to take care of, as he immediately started to meditate to regulate his frantic breath and his soul power.
It took him around two hours to finally reach his normal state, as he once again left the Old Pouch space, as he got outside.
There was no clear change in the outside, as he was still embroiled in darkness, and everything around him seemed weirdly desolate, and stagnant.
No matter how much he tried to sense this place, the trees, the soil, the air all seemed to be stuck in time.
Everything seemed so stagnant, as even though there was deathly silence around him, he still wasn't able to hear his footsteps.
Now that he thought about it, there was no noise coming from all this large and big forest, and even though he was working this large forest, his feet hadn't stepped on any leaf or blade of grass.
It seemed like everything around him was artificial, nothing seemed alive at that moment. Either the beings of this were that powerful to hide their existence or it was truly a desolate forest.
He truly didn't know what to think, as another hour and a half passed by, and he once again entered the Old Pouch space.
Once again, his soul power was almost depleted, and he had managed to enter inside at the last moments.
Recovering his depleted tank, he once again got outside of the Old Pouch Space and started exploring the situation outside.
Of course, he wasn't just wandering aimlessly as he was slowly trying to map out this place on his mind, as he also tried to make some signs on his way.
At first, these trees seemed really weak, and rotten, as he thought that he would easily carve some signs in their trunks, but he soon found out, that it wasn't that easy.
He needed to exert more than 30% of his strength in order to scratch them, and around 40-45% to carve something onto them.
Not to mention that he was doing this while still feeling the pressure on his soul, as he was trying to protect his root.
Still, he didn't give up and continued doing that same thing over and over again, no matter how strenuous that was on his body, or how tiring that was for him.
He had to make sure that that not only he didn't die in this place, but he also found his way back, once he had achieved his goal inside this place.
In fact, his excitement at the thought of finally finding an extremely rare, and priceless Soul Cultivation Technique was making him think nothing of these small hardships.
Not everything seemed to be in going smoothly, as there was one looming dark thought on his mind. If everything was so calm and silent, then how had the other experts died?
Also, the number of deaths from the rumors would surmount to an extremely ridiculous big number, yet he had seen no corpse, or bones until now!
How had they disappeared!? As he was thinking like that, the dead silence was finally destroyed by a little 'crack' sound
