Chapter 124: Competition

Sol and the other two went back to Tom's room, they told Tea and Tom about what the old man had told them about.

Their face turned grave, "How sure are you in winning without the city lord getting suspicious?" she asked them.

"honestly, I'm not sure, I can't promise that I will win but I will make sure that he won't catch any hint from me," Harry answered with determination.

"How about you?" She looked at Sol who was thinking about his next move, he needed to know if his ability could be seen or sensed by the city lord.

If healing dome and knife aura could be sensed by the city lord then Sol's chance of cheating his way was null, but if he could hide the ability from the city lord then his chance would still be great.

"I am not sure as well, I need to do some research on this before I can be sure," He replied honestly.

What surprised them was Jennie, her opinion was different than Sol and Harry, "My chance is still the same, whether there is a city lord or without, as long as the enemy did not use conjuring ability then I would be able to win," She informed them with confidence.

They were shocked as they did not think Jennie was that strong, her performance was not that great on their way to the city and she did not contribute much to beating The vultures compared to Sol and the other.

"Are you sure?" They looked at her in question, as far as they know, she seemed to be normal with no striking ability.

"Yes, I am, I might not have impressive conjuring ability but I'm quite confident in my physical strength, as long as I'm not fighting against as Demi-titan or a Major demigod, then I can beat them in physical strength.

"Then how about only Jennie fight? We don't need all the three of you to win, with one win we could buy the map and still have money to spare," Tom suggested.

"I still want to fight, this is a great chance to improve myself, I felt that I could gain something from fighting a Minor demigod," Sol decline the suggestion.

"Me too, I want to try fighting them," Harry seconded Sol's opinion.

"Alright as long as the city lord did not get any clue about us, you can join the fight," Tea agreed with Sol and Harry,

Even if Jennie was optimistic, there was still a great chance that she would lose so having both Sol and Harry as a backup plan was good enough.

With the problem solved, they went to prepare for the fight, the three of them would train with each other and with Tea.

Tea is a Minor demigod and a good training partner to simulate their upcoming competition, if they could not beat Tea then they might not have a chance of beating their opponent who was going to be stronger than Tea.

In three days, Sol had been fighting Tea and the other two multiple times with the same limitation they would face in the competition.

They trained without their conjuring ability, the result was not that great, Sol could beat Tea three time out of ten fight with a wooden weapon.

Harry's results were not much better than Sol's, He wins four out of ten fights, but of course, they did not use their trump card, they were holding back important skills and abilities that could possibly increase their winning chance.

Harry was not that much Stronger than Sol but he was good at controlling his enemy, Tea got trapped a few times by his clever trick.

On the other hand, Jennie's result was shocking, she could beat Tea, eight out of ten fight, it seems that she was being modest when she said she only has forty percent chance of winning.josei

If Sol was to describe her then he would call her a martial arts expert, She could dodge any attack coming her way with uncanny intuition and her speed was exceptional even without her conjuring ability.

She was strong enough to beat Tea whose physical ability exceed her own, Tea could not even touch her unless she receives a hit in return.

If Sol were to Judge then Tea winning was Jennie letting her win, she was feeling bad for the girl who did not know when to give up so she let her win a few times.

Sol himself was not sure if he could beat Jennie in technique, he would need to use his other ability if he wnt to beat the girl, which was considered cheating.

He learned quite a lot from fighting her, his attack accuracy increased and his evasion ability improved from imitating the girl's technique.

After all their preparation, the competition day finally arrived, Tom and Tea did not come to the colosseum in case Sol and the other got found out, they were going to wait outside the city while Sol and the other fight.

If Sol and the other were not discovered then they would let them know, but if they did not come then Tea and Tom would need to abandon them.

This was what they agreed upon, There was no need for them all to be discovered, Sol and the other understands Tea's logic and agreed with her.

They went into the colosseum with the token given by the old man, each token would allow one person into the contestant waiting room, in there, a man waiting for them.

"Welcome, the fight will start in half an hour, you can rest before the fight start," he explained.

They nodded at the man before he left the waiting room, each of them would only fight once as it was not a tournament but more like a duel.

The colosseum had been filled to brim with people as they wanted to know the fools who want to fight those a level higher than themselves.

Of course, some were rooting for Sol and the other as it was people's nature to root for a black horse, they wanted to see a good fight to overcome the impossible.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to our proud colosseum!" the MC greet everyone in the audience seat.

"Today we would see the first inter-level fight between lesser demigod and minor demigod in this city!"

"First let me introduce our contestant! From the Lesser demigod's side there is Ice Warrior! an ice lesser demigod from another city!" the man introduced.

Ice Warrior was the name Sol used as his persona when he gets into the city, it describes him quite well.

"Also from the same level, Lightning Man! a Thunder demigod that could kill a dozen of demi-titan!"

The man hyped the situation, they did not know where he got such information but it was quite inaccurate, he only want to entertain the audience.

"And our last Lesser Demigod, Beautiful Beast! They said behind her mask was a beauty that could kill others with her look!" the MC introduced Jennie.

Sol and Harry looked at her awkwardly, they did not know what to say, the name was quite accurate but the MC had miss interpret the meaning.

Jennie was a beauty but the beast part was because she fights like a beast, no one could comprehend her movement and her accuracy was scary.

"On the other side! Our famous Minor Demigods, Boulder the rock crusher! A man who looked like a creature from how big is his body!"

The Mc introduce their opponent which attracted Sol's and the other's attention, the did not know how they were going to fight so when they heard the description it helped them a lot.

"The second Minor Demigod is Mad Dog the Man who fights like a beast!" He continued which Hype the crowd, it seems that the Mad Dog is a local favorite.

"And our final contestant is... The Unbeatable... DEVOURER!!!" he said in climaxes, it made the whole crowd explode in excitement.

From the crowd reaction, Boulder was the weakest among them while Devourer was the strongest among them.

It would be ideal if Jennie were to fight Boulder so they could at least have one win in this fight, but they did not get to choose.

"Now let's see who is going to fight who!" The MC pulled out two boxes with all contestant name in them, they were divided by level.

The man pulled out the first name from both box, "The first fight would be..." he trailed off to build up some suspense, "From the lesser demigod side, Lightning Man! Against, Devourer!" he finished.

The crowd got very excited to watch the Devourer fight in the arena, They wanted to watch the legendary Devourer beat the crap out of Harry.

Harry froze on his seat, he turned to Sol and Jennie slowly, "Can I win this?" his morale was low from all the crowd that chant the Devourer's name.

The other two console him but in their heart, they were saying otherwise, "Ahaha! Lucky!" Sol laughed in his heart.
