Stuck as a Villain!

Chapter 70: Celine's circumstances!

Chapter 70: Celine's circumstances!

Chapter 70: Celine's circumstances!

There aren’t many things in Celine Bernford’s life to she could look forward to.

The seventeen-year-old princess had mostly seen the four walls of her room since her birth. She had rights and permission to venture the massive palace, but it was Celine who doesn’t get out of the cage she has built for herself.

She just feels it’s all useless…

Her special eyes, which unlike general awakener didn’t erupt at the age of ten, are the only reason why Celine was like this.

The eyes of Eillione.

There was a mythical tale that in the past there had been a witch during the era of the first heroes, who had eyes that could see anything and everything she desires.

Whether that was a creation of some high crown Temple or simply popped out of the surface was still unclear but one thing everyone believes is that the witch was the only person who had threatened the six greatest warriors in the past.

Might be this all bullshit but when people look at Celine’s eyes they couldn’t help whispering and adding her name to that witch who seemed to have delegated her eyes to Celine.

Naturally, Celine didn’t like being talked about so she doesn’t venture much even though the sun wasn’t in its high range. These eyes… except for their tremendous unexplored potential come with drawbacks as well.

Extreme brightness was one of them which had left Celine with no other choice rather than to stay in darkness for as long as she lives or desire to live.

“My lady. The preparation has been done.”

Celine turned to look at her personal maid who has been serving her since childhood and is one of those who doesn’t feel horrified looking at her.

The preparation being conveyed here was regarding the carriage and essential troops that her father has recruited by himself to take care of her whenever she leaves the palace.

Celine didn’t want that but there was no cure for doting parents so she conceded and took the kindness.

Taking her robe from the chair she approached the maid as she spoke in a neutral tone.

“Let’s go, then.”

---------------------------------------------------------

It has been three hours since Celine boarded the carriage and has been traveling to the church which she has been visiting since a very early age.

She has surveillance of the whole capital and beside this small church built on the outskirt of the capital, Celine finds nothing peaceful in this ever-bustling city.

Every fortnight she has taken permission from her parents to have a round trip to the church in order to keep her mind stable. Her mother persisted to tag along but Celine requested to let her go alone at least somewhere without reminding her, how ‘special’ she was.

She knew her words hurt her parents but she just…doesn’t like it.

Unlike her other siblings, she has always been a matter of caution. Someone whom everyone has to always look for. Someone who couldn’t be left alone anytime or under any circumstance.

She knows it couldn’t be helped because of her eyes, but she never chose to be like this nor she desires this power as well. She just feels so…suffocated.

“Are you okay, my lady?”

It seemed Celine had been deep in thought for a while as her maid enquired in a worried tone.

But before the princess could have responded her eyes went wide in alert as she suddenly perceived something that her thoughts didn’t let her before.

However, it was already too late….

*Boooom*

“My lady!”

Celine’s maid leaped herself to her lady and wrapped her hands around her as they both felt the tremor of heavy bombarding.

Celine was entirely flabbergasted by the sudden ordeal since she never expected she could have missed something so massive approaching.

“You have to assist them Ria…they simply are too many to handle…”

The maid’s eyes widened as she heard her lady’s nonchalant yet serious remark which has no room for doubt, given her skill to see things that are impossible for normal perception to detect.

But…

“I can’t leave you here, my lady. Have some faith in our defense.”

Celine was well aware of the might that the specially trained soldiers of the black wing held but the overwhelming difference in number was something that raised her anxiety.

The number of ambushers simply counted ten times of the soldiers and none of them were any weaklings at all. More like, the enemy forces seemed to be specially selected for this task as well.

‘I have a bad feeling about this…’

------------------------------------------

Outside the carriage, the battle was indeed bending one-sidedly since the enemy side rushed to attack abruptly after the massive explosion, and the heavy number of skill users working from the shadows was making it difficult for the soldiers to keep everything at bay.

“Don’t let them near the carriage!”

The commander of the troops—Argron Reyknot—shouted as he swung his spear to stab the nearest ambusher who just like others had a black shroud over his whole body.

Argron was a Tier 4 skill user but his skill was more focused on large-area destruction which he couldn’t utilize for obvious reasons. But it was not his skill for which he was appointed as the head defense of the princess but rather his martial skills. But even so…

‘Damn it!’

Despite being able to cut off his enemies there didn’t seem to be any end to this and the fact that most of his shoulder took heavy damage in the explosion was making it even near impossible to hold off the ambushers away from the carriage.

“Argh! You bastard!”

The bulky commander swung his spear to his right where an ambusher snuck in while using his invisibility skill.

The stab was lethal and Argron was barely able to hold himself from falling flat, but he doesn’t know how long. The number of his comrades have fallen further gave a grave feeling that they were nearing their end.

‘So this is how it ends….’

But something flashed suddenly at the corner of his perception and before he could even realize who or what it was…the battle was…

… over.

A/N:- Again Seth is no-op other than his martial arts which proves nothing if soul energy is involved.

I will try to add more words in the following chapters and cover more events if I can without letting the pace go haywire.
