Although she was somewhat worried that Veikko might not be able to handle it, fearing that he might be too impulsive and fall into Shaun's trap, in the end, she still managed to suppress the urge to lend him a helping hand.

“All right. Let's do that. You focus on dealing with Shaun, and I will go with Caridee's brother to rescue her. Be careful in all you do. If you encounter any unexpected situations, contact me immediately. Don't try to handle it all by yourself. Remember, it's not worth risking your life to go down with that scoundrel. You don't need to put your life on the line.”

Veikko gripped his phone tightly and said hoarsely, “Okay, I'll follow your advice. But be careful, Shaun's place could be extremely dangerous.”

After ending the call, he slowly stood up and remained motionless for a while, calming his tumultuous emotions before striding outside.

Leaving the study, he went straight to the bedroom.

He opened the door and saw the imposter touching up her makeup. Nonchalantly, he spoke. “The

weather is nice today. Let's take a walk in the garden together.”

Astrid's eyes swiveled, a scheming glint flashing in her gaze.

In the next moment, she stood up, walked over to Veikko, and wrapped her arms around his neck.

“I don't want to. I'm tired of this garden. It's so boring. If you really want to take a stroll with me, let's go somewhere else. Back when I was temporarily living in Moranta, I used to take the children from the welfare center to play in a valley in Derport. The scenery there is breathtaking, with lush mountains and clear waters. It's a perfect place for healing. Would you accompany me for a stroll there?”

Veikko furrowed his brows, pretending to be hesitant.

Sensing his reluctance, Astrid quickly planted a kiss on his handsome face, pleading in a coquettish manner, “Can we please go there? I'm bored to death here. I really want to go out for a bit.”

Veikko's face twitched twice, and the spot where the woman had just kissed him reeked of a foul smell.

How he wished he could just peel the skin off his own face with a knife.

To prevent her from doing such distasteful things again, he quickly said, “All right. We can go anywhere you want as long as it makes you happy. Wait in the room for a while. I'll have someone prepare some food and leisure items. We'll set off in ten minutes.”

Astrid's smile gradually faded after Veikko left.

Although she was somewhat reluctant to let go of this handsome and wealthy man, she preferred to grasp something substantial rather than pursue mere illusions.

Caridee, for instance, was one of the substantial things.

Pulling out the communicator she had been hiding, she sent a message to Shaun that read: We'll head to the valley in Derport shortly.

Ten minutes later, they left the Saviors' branch in Veikko's car.

Mindy emerged from the shadows after the car drove out of the front garden.

“D*mn it! That b*tch has been tainted by some other man and is no longer clean! Why does Mr. Veikko still pamper her so?”

As she spoke with indignance, she crushed the freshly picked flower in her hand into pieces.

The female bodyguard by the side respectfully said, “This is just the beginning. Our next move will be even more ruthless.”

Mindy glanced at her, asking, “Do you have another idea?”

The female bodyguard leaned in and whispered a few words into her ear.

Mindy burst into hearty laughter after hearing what the bodyguard had to say.

“Great! This is a great idea! Let's do it this way!”

In the room at Shaun's residence, Caridee curled up in the corner of the couch, staring warily at Shaun, who was standing in front of her.

“If you want to mess with me, just do it. D-Don't torture me.”

Shaun was pleased to see her pitiful demeanor.

If it weren't for the pressing time and he would have to rush to the valley to set everything up immediately, he really wanted to have some fun with her and record a video for Veikko to see how his precious little angel was ruined.

But that's okay. Once I capture that jerk, I'll bring him here and do it in front of him. That'll yield better results.

“Sweetheart, stay put at home, okay? I'm going to bring your pretty boy back, and then we'll share an intimate moment right in front of him.”

Caridee bit her lip hard as her thoughts ran wild.

Catherine pulled out a few bottles from her pocket and handed them to Bailey, Artemis, and Simon respectively.

“Each of you head in a different direction and release this gas. Whatever evildoers that lurk within this manor will be knocked out.”

Bailey and Artemis each told the other to be careful before swiftly parting ways.

Simon looked at Catherine and arched his eyebrow. “You agreed to come and rescue Caridee. Does that mean you consider yourself a part of the Luther family?”

Catherine remained silent, mainly because she couldn't be bothered to entertain him.

Simon added, “Be careful. If you encounter any danger, just call out my name.”

Catherine looked up at him and snapped, “Why should I call your name? To summon all the bodyguards in the manor to slaughter you? Given your skills, if you're ever ambushed, you'll definitely end up looking like a sieve.”

This woman has such a sharp tongue.

He still had something else to say, but a warning glance from Catherine promptly silenced him.

“Fine. Fine. All men in the Luther family are afraid of women. I'm afraid of you, too, okay?”

Catherine tossed the bottle in her hand into his arms and headed in another direction.

Moments later, wave after wave of refreshing fragrance spread throughout the entire manor from all directions.

Wherever the fragrance drifted past, bodyguards dropped to the ground one by one, losing consciousness. Even the mastiffs kept indoors were not immune to its effects.

After the four of them met by the artificial lake, Simon couldn't help complaining, “Why didn't you bring out this game-changing thing earlier?”

Catherine sneered, “Do you know how to blend it?”

Simon was puzzled. Blend? Blend what?

Bailey explained, “This perfume is called 'Thousand Miles.' It only takes effect when freshly blended. The process of blending this fragrance takes more than five days, while Caridee has only been captured five to six days ago.”

Artemis interjected, “Enough with the chit-chat. We should get moving. Simon, you and Catherine head

to the mansion on the east side, while Bailey and I will go to the one on the west side. Once we find her, let's regroup here.”

Simon was quite pleased with that arrangement.

Catherine, however, ignored him. “I'll go alone. Don't come with me; you'll only be a burden.”
